In this paper, we develop the idea of designing the preconditioned accelerated over relaxation method of linear systems considered by Yao-tang Li to the linear system to preconditioned GAOR. The results show that the preconditioned GAOR method for solving linear systems has same effect.

Errors-in-variables (measurement error) models are important issues in statistics and widely used in chemistry, physics, econometrics and medical sciences, etc. In this working paper, we discuss point estimation of the parameters in a structural errors-in-variables model with heteroscedastic measurement errors, when the observations jointly follow scale mixtures of normal distributions. The model with and without equation error are both included in our discussion. Compared with the method-of-moments estimators, maximum likelihood estimates are discussed through the EM iterative algorithms.

By using the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, we study the existence of positive periodic solutions for a multi-delay predator-prey system with non-monotonic functional response. A set of sufficient conditions for this system to have at least two positive periodic solutions is established. Some new results are obtained, the evolving law is revealed that when the two species intrinsic increasing rate is greater than the total consumption rate, the system will bring periodic oscillation of biological nature.

The problem of sand liquefaction is still an important research direction for Geotechnical Engineering at present. Because of the complexity, uncertainty and the fuzziness of the effective factors for evaluating sand liquefaction, the entropy value theory is applied to combine with fuzzy matter-element and approach degree to establish a fuzzy matter-element model based on coefficients of weights that combine with an entropy weight and a weight attained by Delphi. The problem of weight allocation can be avoided by employing the method suggested in this paper. The calculation result for an example is compared with the standard perforation test (SPT). The results indicate that the proposed method is reasonable and practical.

In this paper, an adaptive grid-point detection method is developed in a pseudo-random color pattern. In the proposed method, weighted cross mask convolution and non-maximal suppression are carried out to the pattern to obtain several grid-point candidates. In order to accurately measure the point symmetry of the candidates, Harris corner detector is used to adaptively select the suitable window size. Finally, the grid-points are recognized by comparing the symmetry characteristic with a given threshold. Some experiments have been conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

With developments in the Internet and Web-based technologies, distinctions between traditional markets and the global electronic marketplace-such as business capital size, are gradually being narrowed down. It is recognized that in the Information Age, e-Commerce is a powerful tool for economic growth of developing countries. While there are indications of e-Commerce patronage among large firms in developing countries, there seems to be little and negligible use of the Internet for commerce among small and medium sized firms. However, many of these e-Commerce projects in marginalized areas fail as a result of lack of the required resources to support ICTs. Different ways have been suggested for marketing products online and to create customer loyalty. This paper discusses a marketing and customer loyalty strategy through a real-time interactive negotiation application, aimed at improving the existing e-Commerce platform. The e-Commerce platform has been deployed as part of the Siyakhula Living Lab ICTD project which is undertaken for the Dwesa community in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

Gradient stiffness leaf spring is of a positive meaning for increasing the ride smooth of vehicle, which has a more stable natural frequency of leaf spring stiffness. A multi-objective optimization model of Gradient stiffness leaf spring of vehicles is established according to a certain light truck. Using Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm, the model is solved on the Optimal Design platform Matlab software. A optimal structure design scheme and optimization design parameters are obtained under the goals of the minimum total mass of the spring, minimum maximum stress in the roots of main spring, minimum maximum stress in the roots of auxiliary spring.
