Small folded CPW fed slot antennas 小型折叠CPW馈电槽天线

In this paper the folded slot and shorting pin concepts are combined to create a small, uni-planar radiating solution. It is found that by using a shorting conductor across the aperture of the folded slot we could reduce the number of folds required to achieve a solution with an input impedance of 50 Omega. The size of the shorting conductor directly impacted the number of folds required and thus the overall size of the low profile radiator; the larger the shorting conductor the smaller the number of folds and therefore the smaller the overall size of the antenna. Although a consequence of using this size reduction technique is a reduction in antenna bandwidth and efficiency, this is expected and no different to that observed for any size reduction scheme

Diversity characterization of body-worn textile antenna system at 2.4 GHz 2.4 GHz下体磨纺织天线系统的分集特性

A body-worn textile antenna system which consists of four electrotextile patch antennas is demonstrated in this paper. A series of experiments to characterize the diversity performance of the antenna for indoor multipath environments have been conducted. From these experiments, we show that the proposed wearable antenna configuration delivers an 8-12 dB improvement in signal level in fading that occur 10% of the time, compared to a single antenna in the same environments

Combined multilevel FMM-QR algorithm for broadband applications 结合多层FMM-QR算法的宽带应用

This paper presents a combined multilevel FMM-QR approach applicable to three-dimensional scattering problems of widely varying electrical sizes. The classic MLFMA suffers breakdown at low frequencies (I. Bogaert et al., 2005), while QR based methods become inefficient at high frequencies (D. Gope and V. Jandhyala, 2005). The presented algorithm combines these two methods to achieve stability at all frequencies, and at the same time preserves the O(NlogN) complexity of setup, memory and matrix-vector products. Examples demonstrating time and memory requirements are presented, and the efficient nature of the overall method at all frequencies is also demonstrated

Infinitesimal Dipole Model for Dielectric Resonator Antennas using the QPSO Algorithm 基于QPSO算法的介电谐振器天线无穷小偶极子模型

The problem of finding a set of infinitesimal dipoles to represent an arbitrary antenna with known near field distribution was considered. By formulating this task as an optimization problem using the directional cosines, the recently introduced quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm was able to successfully obtain good solution. A new boundary condition was introduced to handle the coupling between the directional cosines. The frequency response of the dipole model was also investigated. Although the model was obtained at a single design frequency, the dipoles at the same locations can be used through a wideband scheme by correcting the dipole moments. The correction factor required has been shown to be related to the input impedance of the DRA. A simple procedure is suggested to estimate the correction factor over the frequency band of interest

A novel UWB wide slot antenna that has both enhanced impedance bandwidth enough to cover UWB systems and band-notch function of 5 GHz WLAN band limited by IEEE 802.11a and HIPERLAN/2 is proposed. To achieve these two characteristics of wide bandwidth and partial band-notch, a fork-shaped and tapered microstrip feed line and conductor lines in the slot are used, respectively. From the results, it is observed that wide bandwidth from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz for the VSWR<2 is achieved, while 5.15 ~ 5.825 GHz is band-notched

The electromagnetic field distribution of a wire grid enclosure (WGE) is summarized. Its transmission responses over a range of frequencies are theoretically investigated. The grid is derived from wire elements arranged in uniform rectangular forms of dimension approximately 1/7th the radiation wavelength. Tag antenna performance inside this enclosure is validated with read range measurements

Novel tapped feed structures for extremely small normal mode helical antennas 用于极小正模螺旋天线的新型抽头馈电结构

Extremely small normal mode helical antennas (NMHA) for RFID tags were developed. By introducing folded structures, antenna efficiencies of -5 dB and -1.5 dB were achieved in antenna sizes of 0.025 wavelength and 0.05 wavelength, respectively. However, antenna input resistances were very low such as 5 ~ 8 Omega. Impedance matching structures were requested. In this paper, novel impedance matching structures are proposed. A tap feed is composed around a helical wire. A very compact matching structure is accomplished. Excellent impedance matching capabilities to 50 Omega coaxial cables are ensured through numerical and experimental studies

Effective Mathematic Models for the Efficient Estimation of the Parabolic Reflector Antenna's Performance 抛物面反射面天线性能有效估计的数学模型

This paper aims to formulate a mathematical model for efficiently estimating the performance of parabolic reflector antennas. The paper provides more general and complete formulations with arbitrary power for the feed cosine taper. The cross-polarized components are modeled by sine tapers which results in more practical performance estimations. Particular aperture efficiency and spillover efficiency in terms of closed form formulations are also obtained, which can be further integrated to provide optimization of the antenna design

A New Double Counting Cancellation Technique for Three-Dimensional Ray Launching Method 三维射线发射法中一种新的双计数对消技术

A new efficient algorithm is proposed to avoid the ray double counting problem in the three-dimensional ray launching method. This new method is very simple and is based on the angle between the received rays and the total distance traveled by them. These two parameters have to be saved in every ray launching method and therefore the proposed method does not need any extra memory. Comparison between the simulation results shows the good performance of the proposed method
