Extraction of 3D object is often an important pre-processing step in recognizing object. Analysis over previous related works of multiple researchers necessitates the use of either feature selection algorithm or extraction algorithm prior to classification. Algorithm becomes an important part of future application programs for checking design rules and generating manufacturing advice and plans. In this paper, the authors present the methodology used in developing the algorithm proposed. The process is focusing in designing, analysis and extraction over DXF file format. Presents also the algorithm develops in extracting and recognizing the object. The process of recognition object may involve extraction on code of the design. This extraction process will reject and select some of the code which is suspected notoriously redundant. Only relevant information from the code of the design will be extract. Although the algorithm successfully works, further work still needs to be done to make it more functional.

The rapid development of technologies and steadily growing amounts of digital information highlight the need of developing an accessing system. Content-based image indexing and retrieval has been an important research area in computer science for the last few decades. The approaches of content-based image retrieval using low level features such as colour, shape and texture are investigated to create a prototype that perceives blood cell images similar to a human. The histogram of red, green, and blue colour components is analyzed. The wavelet decomposition is also used to analyze texture. In addition, morphological operations such as opening and closing are applied to analyze object shape. Lastly, colour, texture, and shape in image retrieval are integrated in order to increase the retrieval accuracy. Experimental results using four different classes of 150 blood cell images showed 95.68% of retrieval accuracy.

This paper conceptualises an analytical framework meant for resiliency of supply-chain networks by assessing excursion events. Modern Supply-Chain Networks (SCNs) face excursion events of various kinds mainly due to uncertain and turbulent markets, catastrophes, accidents, industrial disputes/strikes in organisations and terrorism. An “excursion event” is an unpredictable event that effectively shuts-down or negatively impacts the performance of at least one node/member of a system for a relatively long amount of time. In this paper, an analytical framework has been conceptualised that prevents a SCN to propagate the effects of the “excursion events” further and maintains the network at desired equilibrium level. The gestated quantitative decision-support approach facilitates the assessment of resilient strategies for SCNs prone to excursion events that are characterised by Low Probability of occurrence and High Impact (LPHI).

In this paper, a virtual wheelchair (WC) model is developed within Visual Nastran (VN) software environment where the model is further linked with Matlab/Simulink for control purposes. The goal is to have stable two-wheeled WC by transforming the two front wheels (caster) to the upright position. Theoretically, when the two big wheels are fed by the same torque, the WC system will only move in one (x-) direction (with a small forward and backward movement before settlement is achieved). On the other hand, WC in VN produces action-reaction forces in terms of friction between the wheels and the defined ground that lead to small degree of rotation with respect to vertical z- axis, (yaw disturbance). Fuzzy logic control is designed in order to eliminate this unwanted rotation of the wheels during lifting and stabilizing phase. Results show that the unwanted rotation of the wheels is successfully reduced.

Mechanisms to extract the characteristics of network traffic play a significant role in the traffic monitoring, offering helpful information for network management and control. In this paper, a method based on Random Matrix Theory (RMT) and Principal Components Analysis (PCA) is proposed for monitoring and analyzing large scale traffic pattern of Internet. Besides the analysis of the largest eigenvalue in RMT, useful information is also extracted from the small eigenvalue by the method based on PCA. And then an appropriate approach is put forward to select some observation points on the base of the eigen analysis. Finally, some experiments about peer-to-peer traffic pattern recognition and backbone aggregate flow estimation are constructed. The simulation results shows that using about 10% nodes as observation points, our method can monitor and extract key information about Internet traffic pattern.

Currently, many of Malaysian SMEs was using open source Enterprise Resource Planning (OS-ERP) as the enterprise information system. With OS-ERP, financial needs can be decreased and the system can be customized freely and easily. Those factors are affecting technical activity in implementing OS-ERP based on Malaysian SME, such as an appropriate database migration, synchronizing modules based on workflow of Malaysian SME, designing interfaces as a user friendly application, well-maintained user support and integrating ERP with third-party software (optional). Otherwise, work culture of SMEs must be changed to synchronize with ERP workflow. Without changing work culture, implementation process will not working properly. As for detail, this paper will propose five major critical factors to ensure the successful of OS-ERP implementation in technical requirement point of view; specialize to Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Due to the rapid growth of web pages available on the Internet recently, searching a relevant and up-to-date information has become a crucial issue. Conventional search engines use heuristics to determine which web pages are the best match for a given keyword. Results are obtained from a database that is located at their local server to provide fast searching. However, to search for the relevant and related information needed is still difficult and tedious. By using the genetic algorithm (GA) in relevance feedback, this paper presents a model of hybrid GA-Particle Swarm Optimization (HGAPSO) based query optimization for Web information retrieval. We expanded the keywords to produce the new keywords that are related to the user search. Experimental results demonstrate that it is very effective to improve the search of the relevant web pages using the HGAPSO.

Virtual reality (VR) technology has shown tremendous advancements in recent times. Several VR tools have been developed which depict advanced virtual environments that allow user interaction and manipulation. These tools have found many applications in training and learning. A VR tool is proposed in this paper to study the behavior of children when they are faced with real-world situations of road safety. The driver for this study is the fact that pedestrian injuries are a major cause of death among children ages 5-9 in the United States. The proposed VR tool includes VR software and hardware to simulate a virtual environment faced by a typical pedestrian while crossing the street(s). The VR tool represents a street with simulated traffic patterns and an avatar to represent the pedestrian. It is aimed at training children on safely crossing the roads in order to avoid accidents. The virtual environment will allow users to engage in (and investigators to measure)street-crossing behavior in a controlled environment.

This paper describes the effect of inclined track in an indoor rowing machine on the rowing exercise for paraplegics. The indoor rowing exercise is introduced as a total body exercise for rehabilitation of function of lower extremities through the application of functional electrical stimulation (FES). A model of the machine is developed using the Visual Nastran (Vn4D) software environment. Nine different degrees of inclination are set. Fuzzy logic control is implemented to control the knee and elbow trajectories for each of the inclination angle. The generated level of electrical stimulations for activation of quadriceps and hamstrings muscles are recorded and analysed. The results show that the highest efficiency is achieved at 7° of inclination. In view of good results obtained, it is concluded that different angles of track inclination significantly affect the level of electrical stimulation required to assist paraplegics’ indoor rowing exercise.

This paper presents the general design of microstrip antennas using artificial neural networks for rectangular patch geometry. The design consists of synthesis in the forward side and then analyzed as the reverse side of the problem. In this work, the neural network is employed as a tool in design of microstrip antennas. The Neural network Training algorithms are used in simulation of results for training the samples to minimize the error and to obtain the geometric dimensions with high accuracy for selective band of frequencies.
