The achievement of student-athletes in various sports is often linked to the rigor of training that prepares them for competitions and enhances their physical fitness. Thus, this study determined the relationship between the engagement in conditioning training of a random sample of 76 junior high school student-athletes to the development of their physical fitness along health-related and skill-related physical fitness components. The researcher employed a descriptive correlational study through the administration of a researcher-made questionnaire and a Revised Physical Fitness Test by the Department of Education. Collected data were gathered, tabulated, interpreted, and treated using frequency count, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson r. The study revealed that the student-athletes were mostly of normal Body Mass Index (BMI), engaged in team sports, had been athletes for 4 to 5 years, and participated in competitions within the division level. They were highly engaged in conditioning training which enhanced the development of their physical fitness as affirmed by the computed r-values when these variables were paired for correlation. This study calls for revitalized conditioning training through innovations and engagement in co-curricular and extra-curricular focusing on health-related and skill-related physical fitness. This revitalization can be incorporated into the athletic program to ensure continuous sports achievements and enhancement of the physical fitness of student-athletes. Keywords – conditioning training, physical fitness, sports, student-athletes.

Netflix, a video streaming application service has been one of the most useful websites for Thai people during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This phenomenon can be observed through the lens of marketing professionals to gain more consumer insights into the reasons of Thai audiences in consuming the application. Specifically, this research aims; 1) To explore important motivations that influence Thai people on their use of Netflix and; 2) To explain the uses and gratifications of Netflix in Thai society. Furthermore, this research utilized a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with Thai Netflix consumers. Using the theoretical approach of Media Uses and Gratification Theory where cognitive, affective, and personal integrative motives can affect the media satisfaction level, the study found that Thai consumes Netflix because of 1) Language learning, 2) Emotional currency, and 3) Fear of Missing Out. This further concludes that Netflix offers a variety of shows where the audience can control their consumption based on their preference which satisfies them to use the platform more often. The value for money, accessibility of usage, and freedom that the website provides specifically with changing landscapes contribute to the reasons why Thai people use Netflix as their source of video information and entertainment. Climate change is not solely a problem of developing countries or tropical countries but is of global concern and its impacts are observed worldwide. Tourism is one of the top industries in many countries, with coastal tourism as the largest form. The Philippines, an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia, is home to numerous islands and beaches and therefore capitalizes on the blue economy. However, the Philippines is also the third most vulnerable country globally. This study used the vulnerability theory framework to assess the climate change affecting beach tourism in Zambales, Philippines. Climatic factors considered were increased temperature, strong typhoons, floods, and sea level rise. In the related studies presented in this research, some countries’ and regions’ climatic situations, environmental conditions, and adaptation efforts were conveyed. The reviewed research papers gave numerous insights and best practices done by other countries, which can serve as the benchmark in the development of adaptation measures for beach tourism in the Philippines. In this research, descriptive research in quantitative and qualitative methods are employed. The stakeholders within Zambales were surveyed to assess the destination’s beach tourism vulnerability and condition. Respondents perceived beach tourism to be vulnerable to climate change, and adaptation measures were proposed to address the challenges to beach tourism in Zambales. The study sought to analyze school climate, leadership, and faculty efficacy towards sustaining effectiveness in the private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the City of Meycauayan, Bulacan for the School Year 2015-2016 using descriptive methods and questionnaires as specific techniques. The study was geared to describe the school climate of the HEIs as perceived by the faculty and school heads. It investigated the leadership of the heads in terms of School Management Team (SMT) composition, significant responsibility, and involvement in school tasks. It was undertaken to find out the faculty’s efficacy level in student engagement, classroom management, and instructional practice. It intended to explore the significant difference between the perceptions of school heads and faculty in school climate as to school staff’s relationship, capacity to provide quality instruction and school climate issues. Major findings revealed that HEIs fostered good relationship status. Heads and the faculty perceived that HEIs’ capacity in providing quality instruction is only “moderately good.” The findings showed that HEIs utilized SMT composition and a School Governing Board (SGB). Heads’ major tasks include determining course content both national and regional curricula, appointing, or hiring teachers, and establishing student disciplinary policies and procedures. Heads allocated most of their time to administrative duties, like curriculum and teaching-related tasks while the least of their time was spent on interactions with students, parents, and local, regional, and business industries. On faculty efficacy, the data confirmed that teachers were “highly efficacious” in student engagement and “very highly efficacious” in instructional practice and classroom management. The perceptions of the heads and faculty on the school climate as to relationships among school staff do not differ significantly. In contrast, the perceptions of heads and faculty differ significantly on the school climate in terms of the school’s capacity to provide quality instruction and school climate issues. Code-switching between bilingual and multilingual teachers and students at St. Nicholas School (SNS) is a natural and inescapable language phenomenon. This motivated the researcher to study whether code-switching affected teachers and students negatively or favorably, particularly in terms of their academic activity. The researcher specifically delved into how English teachers and students in EFL classes at SNS saw code-switching and perceive the methods, purposes, and issues that came with it. To find out how respondents feel about code-switching, this study employed a mixed-methods research methodology and an adapted questionnaire to collect data. According to the study, code-switching has a ton of advantages for students and teachers, making teaching and learning rich, fruitful, and engaging. Also, it aided in the accomplishment of educational objectives, made it easier to understand complex ideas, and sped up the process of acquiring language abilities. Despite the positive outcome, some drawbacks impair teachers’ and students’ ability to communicate, particularly when dealing with English-only speakers when they are immersed in the outside world. Also, when utilized improperly, it might have compromised the teaching-learning process. Code-switching in the classroom is therefore both a yeah and a nay! To optimize the benefits of code-switching, the study suggested finding a balance. The long-term harmful effects of learning a language can be avoided in large part by teachers. The usage of the target language should be required in classroom settings where formal education takes place. Code-switching can only be used to bridge the gap between the text and the pupils’ comprehension if there is a communication breakdown. Only in such circumstances are code-switching instances tolerable, if not acceptable. When two languages are sufficiently developed, code-switching will finally produce more intellectual advantages than disadvantages. This study is about the meaningful academic maturation process that an aspiring teacher must undertake to be fully prepared, equipped, and nurtured to become a school head. Alongside the other elements of being a school head like the experiential learnings, effects of the colleagues in the academe, and the problems or challenges the informants have encountered in their pursuit toward their present administrative functions and will present a descriptive and comprehensive data on their preparations of being a school head. The researcher made use of the technique of mixed method in gathering information. This study found out that superiors in the academe positively influence the teachers leading to administrative functions in terms of professional motivation. On account of this, the aforementioned hierarchical officials play an important role in inspiring and motivating future school administrators. The data gathered showed that various factors such as continuing professional development, years of teaching and leadership experience, regular workshops and training, coaching and mentoring from current school heads, knowledge, and compliance with the laws in the field of education- all together are what comprise the effective maturation process for teachers leading to administrative functions. Furthermore, the informants believed that experiential learning is an essential maturation process in preparation for administrative functions. After examining the data that were transcribed from the interviews, themes emerged. Seeking advice, Flexibility to the work environment, Community and Political dealings, Workload issues, Instructional and Good leadership. Therefore, current school officials represent a very important role in the academic maturation of teachers in preparation for administrative functions. Finally, the proposed Program/Curriculum Enrichment/ Technology Program for this study, a guidebook on becoming a school head was devised to help aspiring teachers on their journey to becoming a fully equipped school head ready to serve the pupils, the teachers, the educational system, and the community. The education system had shifted from face-to-face to online modality as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This shift in the educational paradigm also affected pre-service teachers in the delivery of their practice teaching. This phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of pre-service teachers in their practice teaching. Data were gathered from four student teachers during the focus group discussion using open-ended semi-structured questions. The gathered data were transcribed and analyzed using active analysis. Three themes were developed in the study; 1) Problems encountered by student teachers during practice teaching, 2) Actions taken to solve problems encountered, and 3) Reflections based on their practice teaching experiences. It is noted that the guidance of their respective cooperating teachers is necessary to bridge the gap between the expectations of the practice teachers and practice teaching as preparation for a real-world teaching career. Moreover, it necessitates support from the administration to amplify the results of pre-service students’ experiences. It is recommended the conduct exit assessments among the pre-service teachers on their experiences to further enhance programs to create more meaningful practice teaching experiences among future pre-service teachers. The purpose of this study is to highlight the experiences and challenges of out-of-field teachers within the Municipality of Kapalong and identify their teaching efficacy. The study employed a mixed method in a convergent parallel design. In the quantitative phase, an adopted survey questionnaire was used. Different statistical tools were used such as Mean; Standard Deviation and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results revealed that the status of self-efficacy of those teachers was high. The result of the significant difference in the level of self-efficacy in terms of years in service and subject-handled revealed that the number of years in service had no significant difference in terms of the self-efficacy of the out-of-field teachers while on the subject-handled it shows that there is a significant difference in terms of their self-efficacy. In the qualitative phase, there were 7 participants in the in-depth interview and 10 participants in the focus group discussion. Five themes were extracted based on the responses of the participants: a physically and mentally demanding job, being professional and competent, innovating teaching strategies, personality and professional growth, and devotion and versatility. Also, in terms of the beliefs, attitudes, commitment, and aspirations of out-of-field English teachers, four themes were extracted which are: work with so much expectation, positive minded, resiliency, and productivity of students and teachers. Spirituality was defined as a way individuals seek and express meaning and purpose and the way they experience their connectedness to the moment. Studies showed that spiritual beliefs provided comfort to cancer patients and that different dimensions were related to the different aspects of health. The study aims to determine and correlate the effects of spirituality and the quality of life among patients enrolled in the outpatient chemotherapy clinic. An analytical cross-sectional study using a non-probability convenience sampling was done of which validated questionnaires on the Spirituality and Quality of Life were the research instruments of the study. Pearson’s correlation coefficient/Spearman rho computed on the relationship between the dimensions of spirituality and subscales of the quality of life among cancer patients. Chi-Square/Fisher’s test was used to determine the correlation between the types and stages of cancer with the quality of life and spirituality of the respondents. A total of 105 cancer patients participated in this study, This study revealed that most of the cancer patients enrolled in the outpatient chemotherapy clinic had a mean score of 3.56 +/- 0.35 indicating a moderate to high level of spirituality. It also showed a mean score of 5.41 +/- 0.53 indicating high QOLs. Dimensions of spirituality that were found to have a significant association with QOL domains (p-values < 0.05) were Mindfulness and Feeling of Security which were both found to have a positive correlation with Emotional Well-being and Social Status. Spiritual care should be included as one of the non-pharmacological modalities in the comprehensive management and palliative care for Filipino cancer patients to improve the overall well-being, healthcare outcomes, and quality of life of patients and their families.
