Marikina is one of the leading cities in high-grade shoe production. The purpose of this study is to assess the value and quality of footwear made by the researcher from Musa textilis known as abaca in terms of the whole shoe test, bonding, upper material flex of abaca, rub fastness, Martindale abrasion, and din abrasion resistance. The parameters used were the common tests to determine the durability and quality of material for footwear production. This is developmental research in which the author’s target is to create shoes from plant-based material such as abaca (Musa textilis). The developed footwear was also compared to the standard set by the Philippine Footwear Federation, Marikina City Philippines. According to the findings of this study, some plant-based materials can be used for footwear making. The material science of the plant material should also be assessed for durability, flexibility, and compressibility for good and quality footwear. Graduate school in Marikina Polytechnic College has transformed its mode of teaching from face-to-face to online setup and is classified by the college as an innovative class. Thus, an appropriate learning assessment should be conducted throughout the innovative class. Lesson study was chosen to be one of the outputs in Foundation of Mathematics for MAT-Math graduate school students (also professional teachers who continued their studies) as a learning assessment. This proceeds to the objective of this study, which is to determine the personal learning of graduate school students and their teaching and learning as professional teachers after doing lesson study. The method used in this research is social impact assessment. Reflections of graduate school students on the conducted series of lesson study was collected and analyzed through a thematic approach. Furthermore, this study shows that graduate school students learning after conducting lesson studies are valued in collaboration, openness to continuous improvement, technological and pedagogical knowledge enrichment, and writing scholarly works. Also, this study discusses the impact of lesson study to graduate school students’ teaching and learning: plan-teach-reflect cycle implementation, teaching creatively and innovatively, focus on students’ learning, current issues awareness in teaching and learning, and pedagogical confidence. Consequently, it is suggested to use the lesson study as a learning assessment for graduate school students since, it is also considered as continuing professional development for teachers. One of the significant issues in developing nations like the Philippines is improper solid waste management. This study assessed the knowledge, attitude, and practices of the residents of the Municipality of Naval on solid waste management. As the Municipality of Naval aims to become a city, it is high time for the municipality to have proper, systematic, and scientific programs on solid waste management. So, to comprehend how the Navaleos view solid waste management, the researchers conducted this study. The researchers collected the data from the biggest barangay in the municipality using the standardized questionnaire of Trondillo et al. (2018). Using descriptive- correlational research design, the researchers analyzed the data collected using multivariate regression analysis. Results show that Navaleños are aware of the laws and regulations on solid waste management. However, there are negative responses to the awareness, practice & attitude toward solid waste management. Results also show that Navaleños rated the solid waste management programs of the government as neutral or slightly effective. With this, information campaigns, seminars, proper solid waste management plans, and incentives are recommended to intervene in this problem. Thesis writing is one of the major requirements when completing an undergraduate degree in the Philippines. The process of conducting involves multiple phases such as proposal presentation, data collection, writing a report based on the findings, and presenting the manuscript to the panel members. Social Influence Theory was the theoretical framework of the study. The phenomenological design of qualitative research was utilized in this study to identify the behavior transformation among fourth-year students who finished their thesis writing subject. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected in an interview with the selected participants. Active analysis was utilized to determine the themes of behavior transformations. It was found that empathy, modesty, confidence, clarity, and collaboration were the transformed behavior caused by thesis writing. In conclusion, thesis writing not only enhances students’ cognitive and psychomotor skills in conducting research but it is also a conduit of behavior transformation among students. This paper recommends having an additional study utilizing in-depth interviews to further dig deeper into the impact of thesis writing. Moreover, a quantitative survey type or research may also be conducted to check behavior transformation in the majority of fourth-year students. This content analysis study aimed to illustrate the specific aspects of Filipino-Visayan English by analyzing 30 selected posts from Facebook. Lexical and grammatical aspects, as well as graphology, syntax, and lexicon semantics, were explored in the posts. To describe the advancement of Filipino-Visayan English, the Language Drift Theory was employed as a foundation. Descriptive qualitative research was used to illuminate the posted statements. Textual analysis indicated the most prevalent lexical, grammatical, and linguistic qualities, which were displayed from most to least dominant linguistic features. The internet influenced the drift of English localization in the Visayan region of the Philippines as the data revealed. From a pedagogical view, teachers need to examine the innovative characteristics, variations, and distinctiveness of Philippine English, particularly Filipino-Visayan English, in comparison to other World Englishes. This study guided the teachers not to evaluate their students’ outputs solely based on Standard in American and British English. The syntactical and semantical distinctions of Filipino-Visayan English are no longer viewed as flaws, but rather as emergent characteristics that distinguish Regional PE variety from other world English varieties. Hence, teachers need to take proactive initiatives to expose students to authentic English usage, including non-native English literature. Call centers in the Philippines are the top choice of foreign investors to outsource their customer service functions because of the natives’ ability to speak English. But while the industry is famous, constant attrition is a common problem, mainly because of burnout and salary satisfaction. To add to the growing solutions for call center attrition, this paper employed organizational tenure as a moderating variable in the association of burnout, salary satisfaction, and turnover intent among Filipino contact centers. A predictive cross-sectional method, from a target population of about 420 respondents, has been used in this study to accurately represent Filipino contact centers. There has not been any study globally or in the Philippines about the buffering effect of tenure, and the results of this research, using multiple regression analysis and ANOVA, provided remarkable and practical implications for organizations to adapt and for researchers to study further using a longitudinal or qualitative methodology. Keywords: Filipino contact center; organizational tenure; burnout; salary satisfaction; turnover intent

This study sought to describe the experiences and challenges of grade school mathematics teachers through the lens of TPACK. This study utilized a qualitative phenomenological design to discover how the participants made meaning from their experiences and challenges during online classes. Ten private school elementary teachers at a university were selected as participants. The results revealed seven themes for the experiences of grade school mathematics teachers during online classes. These themes are 1) digital drills in developing mastery in mathematics, 2) subject integration for meaningful learning of mathematics, 3) applying real-life contexts in problem-solving,4)considerations in choosing interactive sites to teach and assess mathematical skills,5) instructional management skills of the teacher,6)administrative support,7)teachers’ attitude towards the paradigm shift. Meanwhile, future researchers should also consider more respondents and a longer duration of doing this kind of research to unveil the experiences of grade school mathematics teachers in online classes. The study examined the phenomenon of language sensitivity in the classroom. Specifically, it identified the lived experiences of students as to their language interactions with peers and with their teachers and developed a language sensitivity model in the classroom. It made use of qualitative design, employing the phenomenological approach by Moustakas (1994) which in this study, essentially focused on the meanings of the experiences of the participants on language sensitivity in a classroom context. The findings of the study revealed that there are positive and negative lived experiences of the students as to interactions with peers and teachers in the classroom. Positive experiences are categorized into the theme of politeness, while negative experiences are categorized into themes: bullying, profane language, culture-biased language, and sexism. It was further revealed that language sensitivity cycles in the classroom in terms of language interactions with peers and with the teacher, and both teachers and students choose either positive or negative language interactions. Finally, the study concludes that the more negative language interactions occur in the classroom, the lesser the language sensitivity that arises; while the more positive interactions occur, the greater the language sensitivity that arises.
