Instructional Supervisory Engagement of Public Elementary School Heads in the Flexible Learning Environment 弹性学习环境下公立小学校长的教学监督参与

This study ascertained the instructional supervisory engagement of public elementary school heads in the flexible learning environment in the Division of Batangas. It determined the profile of the school heads in terms of highest educational attainment, length of service, related training attended, and ICT literacy. More so, it also identified the school head’s functional level of instructional engagement along with content knowledge and pedagogy, curriculum planning, assessment and reporting, and learning environment. It sought to find out the extent of the manifestation of adaptive leadership skills of school heads. Further, it assessed the relationship of the school heads’ profile with the functional level of instructional engagement and the extent of manifestation of leadership skills and the relationship between the school heads’ level of instructional engagement and the extent of manifestation of adaptive leadership skills to propose a supervisory instructional plan. Meanwhile, the study used a descriptive research design that involved 235 school heads and 380 teachers from public elementary schools in the Schools Division of Batangas Province. Survey questionnaires, focus group discussions, and interviews were used as data-gathering tools. Results revealed that school heads are strongly acquainted with the teaching profession and leadership as manifested in their profile. They have high functional engagement in content knowledge and pedagogy, curriculum planning, assessment and reporting, and in learning environments. Further, no association was found between the respondents’ highest educational attainment, length of service and the functional level of instructional engagement, and the manifestation of leadership skills. Whereas, a number of related training attended showed a relationship between content knowledge and pedagogy same as true with the ICT literacy associated with curriculum planning, communication, and in human relations the rest of the components revealed no significant relationship. Project Tala (Technology-Based Activity and Learning Assistant): An Intervention to Maximize Performance of ICT Learners in Modular Distance Learning Tala项目(基于技术的活动和学习助手):在模块化远程学习中最大化ICT学习者表现的干预

This study aimed to develop an intervention to maximize the performance of ICT 12-Shannon learners in Computer Programming during the first semester of S.Y. 2021-2022. The study involved 56 learners to gather data and utilized the descriptive research design. Based on the findings, learners experienced difficulties in Computer Programming specifically in one of the learning competencies during the second quarter which is Applying the basics of the java language. To address this problem, the researcher utilized chatbot technology and came up with Project TALA (Technology-based Activity and Learning Assistant) which provides interactive and immediate responses when prompted by learners and delivers the content of the learning activity sheet. It is an automated instructional material that can be accessed by learners through the messenger application. The learner should provide the lesson code to prompt TALA to deliver the lesson. There will be two options on how to go through the lesson; text/image format and video format. The content is based on the learning activity sheet for week six of the second quarter with the learning competency of applying the basics of the java language. TALA can also provide supplementary learning materials and additional examples of the lesson. Learners are expected to give their answers to the activity in real-time. After the implementation of Project TALA, it was revealed that there is an improvement in the performance of the learners as revealed by Pre-Test and Post-Test results. Local and Provincial Development in Guimaras: Smart Practices and Good Governance 吉马拉斯的地方和省级发展:明智的做法和良好的治理

This correlational-descriptive study established the level of local and provincial economic development in Guimaras, as well as the relationship between local and provincial economic growth. It was fused with a segmented quiz on local and provincial economic development. More so, SPSS was used to interpret the data collected. Findings revealed that the island’s local development was “Highly developed” while the island’s provincial economic development was “Highly developed”. As the local economy continues to grow, the provincial economy has the potential to expand. Thus, the local and provincial communities may collaborate in advancing Guimaras Island’s economic growth. The Local Government Unit may inspire economic development in both areas to be advantageous mutually. The Lived Experiences of Graduate School Students on the Implementation of Innovative Classes 研究生实施创新课的亲身体验

Educational paradigms have shifted from face-to-face to distance learning due to the impact brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. This shift is inevitable from the preparatory to the graduate level of education. Various improvements to adapt to this change are inevitable. One of which are the innovative classes implemented in the graduate school of Marikina Polytechnic College. Like any other program, evaluation is necessary based on the lens of key actors for its improvement. To evaluate the innovative class program implemented in the College, this study utilized phenomenological research design as lived experiences of the key actors play major roles in the evaluation process. Purposive sampling was utilized in the study and data were gathered through focus group discussion. Gathered data went through two-layered qualitative data analysis following the TPACK model as a priori. It was revealed that the availability of internet connection and appropriate devices, and familiarization of application were the subthemes under the Technology aspect; Appropriateness of pedagogy to content, teacher-centered discussion, a grouping of students, and research-based approach on Pedagogical aspect; Assessment and Evaluation Planning, Reflection-based assessment and Feedback mechanism are the sub-themes under Assessment Aspect; the integrated curriculum is the subtheme of Content Knowledge aspect. Design, Development and Validation of A Readiness Test for Statistics and Probability 统计与概率准备测试的设计、开发与验证

The modern world is defined by vast amounts of data that can be accessed instantaneously because of scientific and technological developments. People must make sense of these data to make informed decisions. Statistics and Probability is one of the learning areas in the country’s Senior High School (SHS) curriculum that immerses students in problem-solving and informed decision-making activities based on various data tools and methodologies. Both national and international examinations disclose that Filipino pupils did poorly in comparison to other students from other countries. Such an issue existed before the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic exacerbated the situation by causing significant learning loss as a result of school closures and the abrupt transition from traditional face-to-face classes to online, modular, and hybrid learning modes. This research designed, developed, and validated a Statistics and Probability readiness test for Senior High School students to use as a tool for teachers to assess students’ prior understanding of pre-requisite concepts and skills. The test has undergone identification of pre-requisite concepts and skills, test development, first pilot testing, and finalization of test items. In identifying the pre-requisite concepts and skills, one of the authors mapped out the contents and skills from the Junior High School Mathematics curriculum that are needed in understanding the contents in the subject. Through a questionnaire, fifteen validators were asked to determine which among these identified pre-requisite skills are needed. Only the prerequisites with at least 80% agreement formed part of the design and test development. The summary of the validators’ responses showed that the pre-requisite contents and skills vary from each SHS Statistics and Probability content. An initial 80-item test was developed and subjected to validity and reliability tests. Through the discriminatory and difficulty indices, this test was reduced to a 45-item test. The final form of the test can be used to measure a student’s proficiency level in the stated pre-requisite skills. It is composed of multiple-choice items distributed along different cognitive process dimensions such as remembering (11.11%), understanding (28.89%), applying (37.78%), and analyzing (22.22%). The result of the test can be used as the basis for remediation activities and or in developing learning materials to address these learning gaps. The Mediating Effect of School Climate on the Relationship Between Classroom Management of Teachers and Student Connectedness 学校氛围对教师课堂管理与学生联结关系的中介作用

Student connectedness refers to students’ adhered assumptions that the people in their school genuinely care about their education and those students who feel connected to their school are more likely to engage in healthy behaviors and achieve educational success. This study determined the mediating effect of school climate on the relationship between classroom management of teachers and student connectedness of Senior High School students. It utilized quantitative non-experimental descriptive correlational research and applied the mediation analysis with 300 samples from Grade 12 students. It used a stratified random sampling technique. The statistical tools used in this study are Mean, Pearson R, and Path Analysis. The information was gathered from respondents using modified survey questionnaires which were subjected to content validity and reliability testing. The findings revealed that the manifestations of school climate, classroom management of teachers, and student connectedness of senior high school students are evident most of the time. Furthermore, there were significant interrelationships between these variables. The findings proved that the school climate on the relationship between classroom management of teachers and student connectedness of senior high school students has a partial mediation. Accordingly, the higher the teacher’s classroom management, the more connected the students are, and this positive relationship can be affected significantly by the mediating interventions of the school climate. Integration of Flexible Service-Learning Program (E-SLP) in the School of Education Graduate Curriculum 弹性服务学习计划(E-SLP)在教育学院研究生课程中的整合

Service learning integrates students’ experiences into the curriculum for students to become change agents. Due to COVID-19, the School of Education Graduate Studies program adopted Flexible e-service Learning (FeSLP) in collaboration with Xavier Ateneo’s Service-Learning Program and Bukidnon Mission Schools. The study determined how FeSLP was integrated into the Graduate studies curriculum during the new normal. The study used participatory action research. Purposive sampling was used with 18 Masters and 9 Ph.D. students. The Graduate students had brainstorming sessions on how to address the community’s needs. Conducting a webinar and providing modules, were then implemented. Findings revealed that FeSLP is beneficial in integrating students’ academic and social formation. Students have internalized the objectives of the program, which helped them achieve the learning outcomes. However, some challenges were observed in courses that need in-depth interaction and immersion in communities for meaningful engagements. Nonetheless, the community was grateful for the provisions of materials that helped their instruction during the pandemic. Graduate students also shared that their experiences had helped them become more reflective about the significance of the course and their role in the contextual application. People Involvement in the Implementation of ISO 9001 in DepEd Tanauan City, Philippines 在菲律宾塔纳万市实施ISO 9001的人员参与

The adoption of continuous development mechanisms including ISO 9001 among public sector organizations intends to improve the government’s capability in providing high-quality products and services to the public. The study was conducted among 70 employees of DepEd Tanauan City during the implementation of ISO 9001. The respondents were grouped into either ISO process owners or non-ISO process owners. Using Difference-in-Differences Model (DID), this quantitative research focused on estimating the effect of people involved in the implementation of ISO 9001 on employee performance. Findings revealed that the level of job engagement in the implementation of ISO 9001 among employees of DepEd Tanauan City is evident using the Job Engagement Scale (JES) by Rich. More so, ISO process owners are invested to participate in people-involvement interventions in the implementation of ISO 9001. Between employee engagement and employee performance, people’s involvement in the implementation of ISO 9001 has a significant effect to work performances of DepEd Tanauan employees. The increase in performance rating can be attributed to their engagement in ISO 9001 since process owners have deliberate roles and functions in its implementation. They are exposed to different capability-building activities such as training, workshops, seminars, and focus group discussions that intensify their functional knowledge about quality management systems. Regression Analysis on Perceived Stressors and Teaching Practices of Teachers Towards Teaching Performance 教师感知压力源与教学实践对教学绩效的回归分析

Stress is inevitable as everyone faces it as a normal part of life. A certain amount of stress is unavoidable, and an appropriate level might serve as a challenge to increase instructors’ efficiency. A descriptive-correlational design was utilized in this study, which employs statistical data to ascertain the strength of a relationship between two or more variables. It determined the levels of teachers’ educational practice, stress factors, teaching performance, and their relationships. The research locale of the study was the four campuses of Davao De Oro State College (DDOSC). Results revealed that the level of educational practices of teachers is very high. This suggests the very high manifestation of communication, relationship, and organization to the greatest extent or almost always. Correspondingly, the level of the perceived stressors of the teachers is sometimes manifested in terms of demand, control, relationship, role, change, and support. On the other hand, teaching performance obtained an overall mean of 4.11, described as high. The Pearson correlation coefficient showed that educational practices are not statistically correlated with perceived stressors given its p-value which is above the set level of significance. Further, the perceived stressor is statistically not correlated with teaching performance. Hence, it is recommended to give rewards or incentives to improve their education and have professional development for increasing teachers’ adoption of student-centered practices and improved activities. Evaluating the economic and livelihood programs that can be implemented by different barangays in the Municipality of Buenavista, Guimaras Island, as well as the economic programs that can be linked to the livelihood programs of barangay officials in the Municipality of Buenavista, Guimaras Island. Through benchmarking, this descriptive study aimed to highlight the Guimaras State College’s community engagement. Findings revealed that most residents in the neighborhood were identified as “agree” in the economic benchmarking and as “agree” in the livelihood benchmarking. Accordingly, implementing extension programs for the school’s recognized community may help elevate the community’s standing once the Extension Offices develop appropriate activities for them.
