The purpose of this article is to contribute to the analysis of subjective well-being in the cities of Mexico through the theoretical formalization and empirical verification of a quantitative model. The variables come from the constructs of the self-reported well-being module (BIARE); and they are called: overall satisfaction with life, sense of fullness, affect balance, and satisfaction domains. The equations were constructed using ordinary least squares regression with the BIARE databases of 2014 and 2017. The analysis of the behavior pattern of variables conduced to findings of urban society’s expectations of well-being and concerns in the period analyzed. Variables quality of life-and-self-realization and overall satisfaction with life have the greatest weight in the model equations. Besides, it was determined that emotional balance and citizen security condition the model. Finally, a relevant finding was that religion restricts the sense of fulness since it represents a well-being project with an opposite logic.

Greece This paper discusses the implementation of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) in the Greek civil service. CAF is based on the principles of total quality management (TQM) and is a tool for improving the performance of public bodies. Key element in its implementation is the dimension of organization self-assessment. This article defines the conceptual framework and analyses the management terms related to its application. Methods used include a review of academic and practical literature, as well as the case study of a particular department of the Greek public administration: a public hospital. In addition, the paper presents the prerequisites for CAF implementation and provides a detailed description of the criteria. Finally, implementation progress in the selected public service is assessed and some recommendations for improvement are made. In conclusion, good practices and lessons learned from the implementation of the CAF are

This research highlights the need to develop a framework for leadership, human capital development, and knowledge management by reviewing existing literature in the field of research. The main aim of this research is to propose a model which supports the relationship between leadership (servant leadership, transformational leadership) and human capital development. The study also proposes that knowledge management (knowledge sharing, knowledge acquisition) will moderate the relationship between leadership (servant leadership, transformational leadership) and human capital development. A set of propositions that represent an empirically-driven research agenda, and also describe the relationships between the focal variables are presented to enhance audience’s understanding within a business context.

With the global rise of Web 2.0 a completely new type of business models —business platforms has arisen and nowadays Amazon , Apple , Google , Facebook are convincingly taking over the lead in global business world (Simon, 2011). These four flagship business platforms are followed by countless other platforms in all spheres of business and contemporary life ( eBay , Airbnb , Uber , etc.). However, the MBA study courses that could cover all sides of business platform microeconomics and explain their enormous economical success are rarely provided in Europe and still not existed in many countries including Latvia. This paper describes the author’s research of specific microeconomics characteristics of business platforms, the different ways of thinking in marketing, competition and money making strategies in business platforms, platform business determinants, detailed comparison of traditional (“pipe”) business models and business platforms, the strengths and weaknesses of platform business models. As the result of this research, author has elaborated the original MBA study course—“Business Platform Microeconomics” and its detailed plan is attached in references of this paper 1 . In conclusions, author expressed how specifics of business platform microeconomics define completely different main components of the business model in business platforms in comparison to traditional “pipe” type business models, what is explaining the enormous economic success of this new business model—business

The ready-made garments (RMG) sector has a greater potential sector than any other sector in terms of employment and foreign exchange earnings to reduce poverty and make a contribution to the national economy. Based on secondary data, the study is intended to draw the scenario of RMG industry in Bangladesh, especially the growth, contribution, and challenges. It is the largest exporting industry in Bangladesh that has experienced tremendous growth during the last 25 years. Among the people of Bangladesh, about 4 million workers are directly employed in RMG sector. Therefore, the contribution of RMG in total export is increasing day by day. At present, 83.9% of national export in Bangladesh is contributed by RMG export although it was 3.89% in 1983-1984. In fiscal year (FY) 2017-2018, the percentage of ready-made garments (RMG) contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) is 12.26% but it was only 2.74% in FY 1990-1991. So, it indicates that RMG sector is the main contributor of Bangladesh’s economy, especially in the export of the country. This sector also faces a lot of challenges, like unskilled workers, insufficient infrastructure, raw materials, energy crisis, safety issue, political crisis, and coverage of accord and alliance. To overcome these challenges, we need to take different steps from owners and major stakeholders.
