Nurses are the backbone of healthcare organizations, and they play a crucial role in delivering quality care and ensuring patient safety, and that, in turn, can be achieved through the two hourly purposive nursing rounds (2HNR). The 2 HNR is a structured rounding conducted by the bedside nurses on a one to two hourly bases. It has been associated with increased patient satisfaction and nursing care quality, improved nurse-patient interaction

Objective: To assess the face validity and inter-rater reliability of the Comprehensive Difficulty IV Access (C-DIVA) tool for identifying difficult vascular access (DIVA) patients and directing care for clinicians without specialized vascular access experience (generalists). Methods : A prospective observational study was conducted using nurses experienced in vascular access to internally validate the C-DIVA tool. After validation of the tool, scenarios were provided to a vascular access specialist group for inter-rater reliability measurement. Results : A survey to assess face validity received responses from 7 nurses in active practice. Using a 1-5 Likert scale, the tool was rated at 4.43 for usability. Additional assessments by 12 nurses provided 72 independent assessments of case scenarios to establish inter-rater reliability. Intra-class correlation coefficient of 49.4% with 55.6% agreement was achieved. Conclusion : The C-DIVA tool was validated by a sample of nurses with vascular access experience from different clinical areas. The inter-rater reliability of the C-DIVA tool is moderate. The use of the tool should facilitate the identification of DIVA patients by generalist providers (those without specialized training or advanced skills in vascular access placement) to facilitate the allocation of appropriate clinicians and resources to achieve successful vascular access for patients with difficult access.

Background: Affected by the pathophysiologic effects of COVID-19 and non-medical issues, many young adults expressed that they felt left out of the discussions surrounding the virus. Training young adults to champion their health priorities enhances the impact of health promotions. This article presents the outcomes of the Young Ambassador Program, a brief training to develop change agents addressing COVID-19 matters among their peers. Methods: Mississippi Individuals ages 18 to 29 years participated in a 45-minute training framed by the classical change theory. The level of participant satisfaction and outreach activities were assessed. Results: Ten individuals completed the training. Performance metrics included posting approximately 134 social media messages on Instagram, Facebook

Background: Digitalization is emerging prominently in all educational environments across the globe. Accordingly, it is crucial to assess the level of digital capabilities among nursing students to be able to provide those students with the necessary support to succeed in the future of digital health. Therefore, we argue that digital literacy cannot be ignored and should be embedded in undergraduate nursing curriculum to empower students to be fully engaged in the future of digital health. Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the level of digital capabilities among nursing students. Methods: The study was a quantitative study with cross-sectional design. 200 students were recruited using a systematic random proportionate sampling technique at Nursing Colleges, United Arab Emirates. Data were collected using a structured self-administered questionnaire Digital Capabilities and Self-efficacy. Univariate analysis, Mann-Whitney U, and Kruskal-Wallis H were used for data analysis according to the type and distribution of data. Results: Superior results are seen for digital learning and development, in which participating nursing students seem competent in everyday digital literacy such as accessing learning resources. The students are competent in using the technology to complete assignments and conduct online tests, but they scored low on using the tools to search the databases effectively and have to skills to take advantage. There was no significant difference between students’ level of study, parents’ education, the type of devices used by the students, and their digital literacy skills. This present study reports that the digital literacy skills among nursing students in urban and rural regions differ significantly. Conclusion: Overall, students did not report any problem being involved in a digital educational environment because they are already engaged with technologies in their personal life

: Purpose: To investigate the current status of nurses' willingness and ability of self-regulated learning in the emergency department, and explore its associated factors. It was hoped that the results could provide theoretical basis and countermeasure suggestions for improving emergency department nurses' willingness and ability of self-regulated learning. Method: Totally 306 emergency department nurses were recruited to finished a questionnaire on self-regulated learning willingness questionnaire and nursing staff self-regulated learning ability scale. Result: The total score of self-regulated learning willingness and self-regulated learning ability was (6.18±2.71) and (121.87±20.33), respectively, both of them were at a relatively low level. The median time of spent on medical-related learning was 5.00 hours per month among emergency department nurses. The related factors of self-regulated learning willingness in emergency department nurses were work satisfaction, difficulty of promotion of job title, management and interpersonal stress, and self-regulated learning ability ( P <0.05). The related factors of self-regulated learning ability in emergency department nurses were working years,
