Inflamasyonun dikkate deger bir ozelligi, tumor olusumu icin gerekli cekirdek hucresel ve molekuler yeteneklerin cogunu etkinlestirebilme yetenegine sahiptir. Inflamasyonun neden oldugu kanserin baslica mekanik prensiplerini anlamak, son arastirmalarda yapilan ilerlemeleri takip etmek onemli goruldugunden kanser ile ilgili surecin mevcudiyetine dayanarak gecmis ve suandaki durumunun tartisilmasi gerektigi acikca gorulmektedir. Bu amacla, bu derlemede kanser olusumu, gelisimi ve ilerlemesinde inflamasyonun rolu, kanser ve inflamasyon ile iliskili yolaklar hakkinda bilgi vermek hedeflenmistir.

INVESTIGATION OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN rs1800796 VARIANTS OF INTERLEUKINE-6 GENE AND CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE 白介素-6基因rs1800796变异与冠状动脉疾病关系的研究

The most important characteristic of coronary artery disease, which is one of the most common and most important health problems today, is that it can lead to life-threatening myocardial infarction in advanced stages. It is more important to take protective preventions by knowing the risk factors that cause the disease rather than the treatment of this disease. This study was performed on coronary artery disease (CAD) to determine the frequency of the interleukin-6 gene (IL-6) 572G/C polymorphism and to examine the role of this polymorphism in CAD development. Genomic DNA obtained from 185 persons (103 CAD patients, 82 controls) was used in the study. IL-6 572 G/C polymorphism genotypes were determined using PCR, RFLP and electrophoresis. The results were statistically analyzed. The frequencies of 572 G/C genotypes, in controls GG 83%, GC 17%, CC 0% and in CAD patients GG 72% , GC 28% and CC 0% were found. There was no significant difference between the control group and the patient groups in genotype frequencies. It was determined that GG genotype frequency increases significantly in patients according to control group. Based on the results of our study, we may suggest that there is no association between CAD and IL-6 572G / C polymorphism.

Light and Scanning-Electron Microscopic Study of Eisenia fetida Coelomocytes after Copper Oxychloride Exposure 氯化氧铜暴露后臭爱森虫体腔细胞的光镜和扫描电镜研究

Morphological alterations in Eisenia fetida coelomocytes are recommended biomarkers for soil contamination surveys. Copper oxychloride is a widely used agrochemical agent that causes excessive amounts of Cu accumulation in soils. The present study is a light and electron microscopic investigation of the morphological alterations in coelomocytes of E. fetida exposed to copper oxychloride. Exposure concentration was 350 mg/kg of artificial soil and exposure duration was 7 or 14 days. Colelomocytes were extrused into an ethanol and guaicol glyceryl (GGE) containing modified Hanks’ balanced solution (M-HBSS-GGE) by a simple low vacuum holding device and processed for light and scanning electron microscopy. Lipid peroxidation (LP) in the earthworms was also measured to evaluate oxidative stress (OS). Swelling and vesicular deformation were the early signs of toxicity in eleocytes after 7 days. After 14 days, complete loss of vesicles and spongy surface were observed in eleocytes. Granulocytes showed more dramatical changes. Nucleus fragmentation and membrane rupture were observed after 14 days. Increased LP in the earthworms was accompanying these changes.

Isolated and purified Micromonospora sp. FMN07 and FGN37 strains were utilized in composting experiments in a miniscule system in order to determine their effects on mesophilic stage. Results indicated deceleration of organic matter degradation in the presence of these microorganisms. This result also indicated that these microorganisms had no or negligible activity towards cellulose degradation which was the main constituent of compost mixture. Statistical analyses and measurements were also conducted to determine the effects of microorganisms on nitrogen content. Result indicated an increase in nitrogen amount in their presence. It was our belief that the activity of microorganisms effective in thermophilic stage of composting could have been increased by proper adjustment of FMN07 and FGN37 strains since nitrogen amount crucial for microorganism growth would have been higher in their presence.

SEASONAL ANTIOXIDANT CAPACITY OF ASPHODELUS AESTIVUS BROT. ROOT TUBERS IN RESPONSE TO ARIDITY FROM DEGRADED MEDITERRANEAN ENVIRONMENTS 马尾松的季节性抗氧化能力。块根对地中海退化环境干旱的响应

Asphodelus aestivus Brot. (Walter) is the dominant geophyte species on degraded areas of eastern Mediterranean Basin. Because it has a stress-tolerant strategy and it is a competitive ruderal. We studied the activities of antioxidant enzymes (ascorbate peroxidase, APX; superoxide dismutase, SOD; catalase, CAT) in the root tubers of A. aestivus from Bursa, Turkey over one year. There was a seasonal variation in antioxidant enzyme activities. The CAT and APX showed similar variation model in which the activity was highest in July (9.3 ± 2.7 units/mg protein and 141.9 ± 52.7 units/mg protein) and lowest in August (1.2 ± 0.6 units/mg protein and 14.5 ± 2.3 units/mg protein). The SOD activity increasing in summer months was reached up the highest level in late summer (297.6 ± 48.1 units/mg protein). The significant negative correlations were also found between enzyme activities and water contents of soils (P<0.05). The increased antioxidant enzyme activities in summer and late summer periods may be a protective and acclimation mechanism against drought stress. These results indicate that drought can induce enzymatic antioxidant defence system in A. aestivus and this system may help to this species to spread on degraded Mediterranean environments.

Production of Lipids From Oleaginous Yeast Cells in Different Cultural Types and Mediums For Usage In Biodiesel Production 产油酵母细胞在不同培养类型和培养基中生产油脂用于生物柴油的研究

Bu calismada oleginous maya olan Rhodotorula glutinis’ ten lipit uretimi ve ekstre edilen lipitten biyodizel uretimi gerceklestirilmistir. Maksimum lipit uretim kosullarinin belirlenmesi amaciyla baslangic pH’si, sicaklik, calkalama hizi,  farkli karbon ve azot kaynaklari gibi cesitli sistem paremetrelerinin etkisi kesikli fermentasyon sisteminde incelenmistir. Biyodizel uretim maliyetini azaltmak icin melas ve peynir alti suyu iceren besiyerleri de test edilmistir. Ayrica belirledigimiz optimum kosullarda iki basamakli fermentasyon sistemiyle lipit uretilmistir. Kultur ortamlarindan lipit ekstraksiyonu modifiye Bligh ve Dyer yontemine gore gerceklestirilmis ve elde edilen lipitler biyodizel uretiminde kullanilmistir. Yag asidi ve yag asidi metil esterlerinin analizi gaz kromatografisi-kutle spektrometresi cihazinda yapilmistir. Bu calisma sonucunda uretilen maksimum lipit icerigi ve biyodizel verimi sirasiyla  % 29.53±0.46 ve % 80.65 olarak tespit edilmistir. Palmitik asit, oleik asit ve stearik asit iceren lipitlerin, yag asidi kompozisyonunun biyodizel uretimine uygun oldugu belirlenmistir.

NATURAL ANTIMICROBIALS OF PLANT ORIGIN 植物来源的天然抗菌剂

Fresh or dried forms of various plants are commonly used in foods for improving quality attributes of the foods. Many researchers have found that phenolic compounds, organic acids and essential oils in the structure of plant sources show antimicrobial properties against microorganisms. Therefore, plant sources provide important potential for ensuring food safety. In recent years, as consumers have also increased their tendency to consume natural products, plant products have become more important in food industry as alternative antimicrobial agents. In this work, studies on antimicrobial active ingredients in plant products and their mechanisms of action as well as studies on inhibitor activity of these products in food systems have been compiled.
