MAGNETS ON WING DIMORPHISM AND HOST NUTRIENTS ALLOCATION OF MYZUS PERSICAE (HEMIPTERA: APHIDIDAE) 磁体对桃蚜翅二态性及寄主养分分配的影响

. Wing polymorphism is commonly observed in many insects, green peach aphid Myzus persicae (Hemiptera: Aphididae) exhibit wing polyphenism in response to poor habitat quality. Here, we focus on the effects of magnets on wing dimorphism and host nutrients allocation of green peach aphid. The proportion of winged female progeny increased logarithmically with magnets between 0.065 T to 0.5 T. The first and second instar period of winged progeny was significantly lower than that wingless progeny with the exception of the 0.5 T magnets exposure; the third instar period of winged progeny was significantly lower than that wingless progeny except the 0.28 T magnets exposure. The fecundity of winged female M. persicae progeny decreased exponentially compared with wingless female M. persicae between 0.065 T to 0.5 T. The effects of magnets on the intrinsic rates of increase (r), finite rates of increase (λ), net reproductive rates (R 0 ), and gross reproductive rate (GRR) of winged progeny decreased logarithmically compared with wingless ones accompanied with the magnets increase. 0.065 T wingless progeny had the highest increase in flavonoid content (1.815 mg −1 g) while 0.28 T winged progeny had the lowest flavonoid accumulation (0.543 mg −1 g). Our findings highlight the wing morphology and development under varied magnet intensities and reveal that the accumulation of total phenol and flavonoid content correlated positively with the life history parameters, such as the total preoviposition period, female longevity, and the intrinsic rates of increase (r). It is thus possible to increase winged female production for the purposes of biological control by manipulation magnets conditions.

TREE SPECIES RECOGNITION AT STANDS SCALE: VALIDITY TEST OF MULTI-TEXTURE EXTRACTED FROM MULTISEASONAL UAV-BASED IMAGERY 林分尺度下树种识别:多季节遥感影像多纹理提取的有效性检验

In order to evaluate the effectiveness of multi-type texture features of images of four seasons in pure stand tree species recognition, this research applied 5-band RedEdge-MX sensor to collect remote sensing data of four seasons and extracted eight texture features, including mean, variance, homogeneity, contrast, dissimilarity, entropy, second moment and correlation, from 20 spectral bands. Maximum likelihood classification and random forest were adopted for the determination of the best window for texture extraction which resulted in the construction of optimal texture feature set in tree species recognition. Then, the performance of these texture feature sets along with their combinations in tree species recognition was analyzed. Experimental findings showed that the eight texture features of four seasonal data performed well in the recognition of pure stand tree species. Texture feature mean presented the highest performance (with overall accuracy of 88.8559%) and worst variance (84.8180%). The combination of eight texture features further improved the recognition accuracy of tree species (92.0599%) compared with single texture features. The recognition accuracy of tree species could be further improved by combining eight texture features with spectral band and digital surface model (92.7002%). Research showed that the application of multi-type texture features in typical seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter fully captured the differences of various tree species in different bands and seasons, which could be applied to the effectively identify pure stand tree species

EFFECTS OF STRAW RETURN AND BIOCHAR APPLICATION ON SOIL NUTRIENTS AND OSMOTIC REGULATION IN COTTON UNDER DIFFERENT SOIL SALINITY LEVELS 不同土壤盐分水平下秸秆还田和生物炭施用对土壤养分及棉花渗透调节的影响

To clarify the effects of straw return and biochar application on the amelioration of soils with different salinity levels and cotton growth, in this soil column simulation test, straw and biochar were applied to soils with different salinity levels (1.5 (S1), 5 (S2) and 10 (S3) g/kg), with application rates equal to the same amount of carbon (two carbon levels: 6 t/hm 2 of straw (C1) = 2.25 t/hm 2 of biochar (B1); 12 t/hm 2 of straw (C2) = 4.5 t/hm 2 of biochar (B2)). Then, changes in soil physicochemical properties and cotton physiology were determined. The results showed that straw return and biochar application reduced soil salinity at S1, S2, and S3 levels. Besides, both of them increased soil water, total nitrogen, organic matter, available phosphorus, and available potassium contents, but there was no difference between S3 soil and S1 soil and between S3 soil and S2 soil ( p > 0.05). Straw return and biochar application also increased chlorophyll and soluble sugar contents in cotton leaves ( p < 0.05), and decreased the relative conductivity and malondialdehyde content in S1 and S2 soils ( p < 0.05). However, in S3 soil, there was no difference between C1 treatments and CK and between B1 treatments and CK ( p > 0.05). Thus, straw return and biochar application can improve the physicochemical properties of saline soil and regulate osmolytes in cotton, but the amelioration effect of low application rates on high-salinity soils is insignificant ( p > 0.05).

DIFFERENCES OF COPEPODA COMPOSITION ANALYSIS IN MARICULTURE PONDS THROUGH MORPHOLOGICAL TAXONOMY AND DIFFERENT METAGENETIC APPROACHES 形态分类学及不同元生方法分析海水养殖池塘桡足类组成差异

. Copepods play a fundamental role in aquatic ecosystems and are an important food source for fish at an early stage. However, little attention has been given to changes in copepod communities in aquaculture water. This is mainly limited by the copepod analysis method. In this study, we designed a pair of copepod primers, Cop18SF/Cop18SR, for the analysis of copepod communities to promote the investigation of copepods in aquaculture water. Our results showed that the common-used primer pair Uni18S/Uni18SR non-specifically amplified many DNA sequences from bacteria, whereas the primer pair LSUCop-D2F/LSUCop-D2R abnormally enriched OTU denovo438, which was an unidentified Eukaryota zooplankton. Although Eurytemora pacifica was classified into 26 OTUs with 97% sequence identity using our designed primer pair Cop18SF/Cop18SR, other results indicated that the primer pair Cop18SF/Cop18SR was superior to the other two primer pairs. Moreover, different primer pairs yielded different plankton community structures, which caused their correlations with environmental factors to be obviously different. These results imply that the primer pair Cop18SF/Cop18SR can be used to analyze the dynamic changes in the copepod community structure and the relationship between the community structure and abiotic and biological factors in aquaculture water.

. This study investigates the changing laws of species composition, community composition and species diversity of typical shrubs in southeastern Tibet. It selects 12 typical shrub communities distributed in the five counties of Bayi District, Gongbujiangda County, Milin County, Lang County, and Bomi County in Nyingchi City as the research objects to systematically study characteristics and diversity of main shrub communities in southeastern Tibet. The results showed that the shrubs in Nyingchi of southeastern Tibet have diverse herb plants, while bush is relatively simple. Among the 12 shrub communities investigated, there are 230 species of plants, belonging to 49 families and 107 genera. According to statistics, there are more drought-tolerant families of Compositae, Rosaceae, Leguminosae, and Polygonaceae. Compositae accounted for the highest proportion of 13.1% among the surveyed plants, while Solanaceae, Crassulaceae, and Bignoniaceae only accounted for the smallest proportion of 0.5%. On the whole, D diversity index of the surveyed shrub community varied between 0.74~0.98, while H diversity index varied between 1.85~2.96.
