A Study on Science Museum Homepage Introduction and Elementary School Students’ Thoughts about Science Museum Roles- Through Text Network Analysis - 科技馆主页介绍与小学生对科技馆角色的思考——基于文本网络分析

This study aims to comparatively analyze the correlation between science museum homepage introduction and elementary school students’ thoughts about science museum roles through visualized network by extracting keywords from the texts of science museum homepage introduction and elementary students’ thoughts. As keywords from science museum homepage introduction and elementary school students’ thoughts about science museum roles, this study discovered ‘Science’ and ‘Experience’. Besides, ‘Universe’, ‘Education’, ‘Culture’ and ‘Diversity’ were emphasized in the science museum homepage introduction, while ‘Fun’, ‘Idea’ and ‘Human’ were emphasized in elementary students’ thoughts. When analyzing the text network, this study found out that both science museum homepage introduction and elementary school students showed ‘Science’ and ‘Experience’ as keywords, which formed the network while getting connected with other words. When analyzing the commonword network, this study extracted and analyzed 72 words from science museum homepage introduction and elementary school students’ thoughts about science museum roles. However, as users, elementary school students tended to regard science museums as learning space in connection with science textbooks, but as providers, science museums did not sufficiently mention it through their homepage introductions. Considering this fact, this study found it necessary to develop programs in connection with school curriculum and provide exhibition panels in connection with science curriculum so that users’ demands can be satisfied in the level of science museum organizations.

예비 과학 교사 대상 생물학 강좌에서 SSI 조사와 발표의 효과 및 인식 조사 以预备科学教师为对象的生物学讲座中SSI调查和发表的效果及认识调查

The students have to have decision-making ability on socioscientific issue(SSI), which is a component of scientific literacy. In this respect, preservice science teachers have to prepare to deal with these issues. This study examined the effect of investigating and presenting SSI on preservice science teachers’ character and values in college biology course and their recognition on the investigating and presenting SSI. In order to do, 76 preservice science teachers who registered biology course were divided into 20 groups. Each group selected the social issue related biology such as embryonic stem cell, doping test, and designed baby, collected the related materials, made a presentation and a report on the issue. As a result of administration of questionnaire of character and values, the total score of pretest was 3.78, that of posttest was 3.80, and this difference was not statistically significant. But the difference of the scores in the statement “I can predict the social, ethical, and moral results from the advance of biotechnology” was statistically significant. The preservice science teachers responded that they have recognized SSI, got biological knowledge, and changed the recognition on the relation between biology and society. And 80.3% of them answered that it was needed to deal with SSI in secondary school science class. It would be helpful to develop teaching profession for preservice science teachers to investigate and present SSI.

Factors Influencing the Plant Identification Knowledge and Self-assessed Evaluation of One’s Plant Knowledge of Pre-service Biology Teachers 职前生物教师植物识别知识的影响因素及植物知识自评

Through teacher preparation courses, biology teachers need to be educated to have sufficient plant species identification knowledge to teach students for botany education, which might help the students understand biodiversity. However, understanding of the key factors affecting pre-service biology teachers’ plant identification knowledge remains poor. The aim of this study was to investigate whether demographic factors(sex and school year), interests to plants, experiences with nature and life, environmentfriendly characteristics, and Big 5 personality traits of pre-service biology teachers may predict their knowledge of local plant species identification and self-assessed evaluation of one’s plant knowledge. The analysis of multiple linear regression and general linear model revealed that female gender influenced knowledge about herb identification positively, while school year showed a positive relation towards knowledge about tree identification and self-assessed evaluation of one’s plant species knowledge. In contrast, environmental sensitivity and New Ecological Paradigm (NEP) did not influence on the outcome variables. In addition to sex and school year, the plant identification knowledge was predicted by their affinity with plants. The final model of self-assessed evaluation of one’s plant knowledge was explained by affinity with plants and indirect experiences, indicating the mediating effects of agreeableness and openness. These results suggest that pre-service biology teachers is required to continuously learn botanyrelated lectures like plant systematics in order to have sufficient knowledge about plant identification and confidence in plant knowledge.

이 연구의 목적은 중학교 기술?가정 교과 "제품의 구상과 만들기"의 수행 과제에 대하여 전통적인 평가 척도와 다르게 구체적으로 채점 기준이 서술된 루브릭을 개발하는데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 루브릭 개발 절차를 도식화하였으며, 준비 단계, 개발 단계, 개선 단계를 거쳐 루브릭을 개발하였다. 준비 단계에서는 단원의 성취 기준을 설정하고 이에 도달하기 위한 적합한 수행 과제를 선정하였으며, 수행평가를 실시하기 위한 평가 방법을 결정하였다. 개발 단계에서는 수행 과제의 특성에 따라 루브릭의 형태를 선정하고, 수행과정 및 결과에 따른 준거를 설정하였으며, 4단계 척도에 따라 등급별로 구체적인 채점 기준을 서술하였다. 마지막으로 개선 단계롤 통하여 개발된 루브릭의 문제점을 파악하고 수정, 보완하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 루브릭의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육 목표를 분석하여 지식, 기능 및 태도의 모든 영역에 대한 성취 기준을 제시하였다. 둘째, 학생들의 실습 제품 중 우수한 제품과 미흡한 제품의 특징을 비교하여 산출물에 대한 루브릭 준거를 목록화 하였다. 셋째, 학생들이 이해할 수 있으며, 관찰 및 측정이 가능한 용어를 사용하여 등급에 따른 구체적인 채점 기준을 제시하였다.
{"title":"The Parents’ Perception on the Educational Effects of Students’ Active Learning","authors":"최윤희, 김미점, Kim Yong-jin","doi":"10.15717/bioedu.2018.46.4.422","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15717/bioedu.2018.46.4.422","url":null,"abstract":"이 연구의 목적은 중학교 기술?가정 교과 \"제품의 구상과 만들기\"의 수행 과제에 대하여 전통적인 평가 척도와 다르게 구체적으로 채점 기준이 서술된 루브릭을 개발하는데 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 루브릭 개발 절차를 도식화하였으며, 준비 단계, 개발 단계, 개선 단계를 거쳐 루브릭을 개발하였다. 준비 단계에서는 단원의 성취 기준을 설정하고 이에 도달하기 위한 적합한 수행 과제를 선정하였으며, 수행평가를 실시하기 위한 평가 방법을 결정하였다. 개발 단계에서는 수행 과제의 특성에 따라 루브릭의 형태를 선정하고, 수행과정 및 결과에 따른 준거를 설정하였으며, 4단계 척도에 따라 등급별로 구체적인 채점 기준을 서술하였다. 마지막으로 개선 단계롤 통하여 개발된 루브릭의 문제점을 파악하고 수정, 보완하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 루브릭의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육 목표를 분석하여 지식, 기능 및 태도의 모든 영역에 대한 성취 기준을 제시하였다. 둘째, 학생들의 실습 제품 중 우수한 제품과 미흡한 제품의 특징을 비교하여 산출물에 대한 루브릭 준거를 목록화 하였다. 셋째, 학생들이 이해할 수 있으며, 관찰 및 측정이 가능한 용어를 사용하여 등급에 따른 구체적인 채점 기준을 제시하였다.","PeriodicalId":84416,"journal":{"name":"Cell biology education","volume":"67 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86013427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
