Expansive soils contain minerals such as smectite clays that are capable of absorbing water accompanied by shrink and swell behavior and thus change in volume. The swell–shrink behavior of these soils could lead to instability of the structures found on them, specifically the light-weight structures and pavements. Expansive clay soil is encountered in most parts of Egypt. A comprehensive study was made in Sixth of October city to investigate the impact of lime sludge and bagasse ash as an industrial solid waste from sugar-cane factory and sodium chloride salt on geotechnical engineering properties of expansive soil. The macrostructural properties are quantified through laboratory testing for Free swell index, Plasticity index and infiltration tests. The microstructural aspects of the treated soil are observed through X-ray diffraction studies and SEM micrographs. The laboratory results showed that by increasing the lime sludge, Bagasse ash and NaCl concentrations the liquid limit decreased from 100% to 60% while the plastic limit increased from 100% to 90% respectively. In addition, the infiltration tests showed an increase in the infiltration rate from 10% to 80% when LS and Bagasse ash were added to the soil also the free swell decreased from 100% to 70 % sufficiently. XRD patterns showed the formation of new kaolin cementitious compound as the change of montmorillonite to kaolinite mineral took place due to the reaction of high amount of calcium ions produced from the stabilizer, the cation exchange took place between the calcium cation of the lime associated with the surfaces of the clay particles. The effect of cation exchange and attraction causes clay particles to became close to each other, this process is called flocculation which is accompanied by a series of pozzolanic reactions resulting in the formation of clay aggregates that are bound together by the new cementitious products such as calcium aluminate. Scanning Electron Microscopic images (SEM) and SEM micrographs determined the formation of organized dense clay matrices of aggregations that showed the reduction of Montmorillonite clay mineral peak intensities and an increase in kaolinite clay mineral peak intensities due to the change of expansive soil texture and reduction of interplanar spacing of the treated soil.

Beef fried meatballs (basreng) is an innovation from meatballs. Dry textured basreng is sensitive to air and prone to rancidity, so packaging is required to minimize and the effect of storage time at room temperature. Basreng samples were packaged in non-vacuum polyethylene, vacuum polyethylene, aluminum foil vacuum, and composite can. Each was tested at weeks 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8. Parameters were observed for physical quality (pH and hygroscopicity) and sensory (color, taste, aroma, texture, acceptability). Physical quality data were analyzed using a Complete Randomized Design with a 4x5 factorial pattern. Mean differences were tested with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test. Sensory quality data was analyzed with Friedman's non-parametric analysis. Each treatment was in triplicate. The highest pH value for composite can is 6.43. The best sensory score is the composite can. The results of statistical analysis showed that the packaging treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05). Storage time also had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the physical quality which decreasing the pH value to 6.08, increasing the hygrocoposity value to 0.19 and decreasing the sensory score. The conclusion of this study was that types of packaging and storage time affected the physical and sensory qualities than other treatments. Keywords: Beef Fried Meatballs, Type of Packaging, Storage Time, Physical Quality, Sensory Quality.

Cancer has been and continues to be one of the leading causes of human deaths. Thousands lose their lives to the different types of cancer each year. Cancer remains one of those invincible barriers in the health sector that humans are quite far from overcoming. As cancer remains to be incurable, works are being done every day globally to come up with better ways to treat it. Conventional methods of treatment like chemo and radio therapies have adverse effects on health and thus, new approaches are being used for cancer treatment. One such approach is the use of our body’s own defense mechanism to attack and kill malignant cells. This review will highlight the different components of human immune system that are being used to treat cancer. It will give an idea of the mechanism of action of each of these components and indicate why they are better choices compared to traditional treatments. Side effects and/or challenges of each immunotherapy have also been included.

This research is motivated by the proportion of the elderly aged 60 years and over who is the fastest-growing population globally. Besides, increasing life expectancy and decreasing birth rates have simultaneously resulted in a drastic increase in the elderly population in Indonesia to 8.6 per cent of the total population in 2015. This number is expected to increase to 14.1 per cent in 2030 and will become almost tripled in 2050. It is the beginning of the birth of a research idea to improve skills in students, with the title of developing a gerontic nursing learning model to improve student skills in-home care services. The purpose of this research is to describe the field needs of gerontic nursing model development to improve student skills in-home care services at STIKes Panrita Husada Bulukumba. Sanitation management on the river banks is still one of the difficult problems to be handled by the government. This is due to the lack of community participation in maintaining environmental sanitation around riverbanks. This lack of awareness makes sanitation around riverbanks look slum. Given these problems, the researchers conducted a study that aims to see the influence of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation partially on environmental management behavior. Furthermore, to see the influence of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation simultaneously on environmental management behavior on the banks of the Mamuju river. This study uses descriptive analysis with inferential quantitative data analysis techniques. The location of this research is in Mamuju District. The population of this research is people who live around the banks of the Mamuju river. The sampling technique used purposive sampling so that 120 samples were obtained who lived around the banks of the Mamuju river. The results of this study indicate that the motivation and behavior of community environmental management are still in the low category. Furthermore, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation partially have no effect on environmental management behavior. Furthermore, simultaneously intrinsic and extrinsic motivation also has no significant effect on environmental management behavior on riverbanks.
