Design, design management and design thinking as drivers of innovation and as means to enhance organizational performance are only now, however slowly, being taken seriously by private sector service providers and manufacturing industries, the public sector, and third sector organizations.
Like everything else, the field of design changes to keep pace with the world around us. Learn about a unique tool that facilitates an examination of an organization's vision and mission in relation to the powers of design.

Curriculum design, by its nature, is transformative, molding a progressive and adaptive learning journey.
It's clear that climate action and social justice are issues that will require our attention now and in the future. Incorporating object-based and transformative learning into higher education curricula can lead to the transformative understanding required to tackle these problems.

As a dyslexic person, I use divergent and convergent thinking to fit into the neurotypical world, which is why I was naturally drawn to design thinking.
Understanding the difficulties faced by neurodivergent people as well as the strengths they bring to the table can help welcome them into the workplace—which ultimately helps everyone by gaining their perspectives in looking at problems in new and different ways.

Measuring the value of design remains an obsession for researchers and academics as well as an area of continuous development of models and theories within business management.
How do we measure the value of design? This article looks at the perception of design at different organizational levels and its role in strategic business management, looking specifically at the Design Culture Framework.

…there is a gap between the complexity and scale of climate and sustainability challenges and the professional competencies currently taught in most design education programs.
Designers are expected to have a key role in addressing looming problems like climate change and sustainability. Examining current curricula and finding gaps in competencies provides a starting point to ensuring that future designers have the skills necessary for the job.

Centering humans within larger systems to design services, products, and experiences can help designers create solutions with a “human temperature,” business value, and social impact.
Change is all around us and often impacts our lives in disruptive ways. What if designers, in addition to using human-centered design, took a multidisciplinary approach to create systemic solutions to help solve the complex problems we face?
