In this article the state initiatives for environmental conservation are analyzed as a technique for the production of spaces, rural populations and subjectivities. Those initiatives generate unfinished, contingent and everchanging effects, influenced by the power systems which operate in the regions where they are implemented. From the notion of production of space1 , the transformations operating on public policies in a frontier zone as the Guaviare are examined since the area was declared a forest reserve of the Amazonia in 1959. On the other hand, the mechanisms of aggregation, simplification and standardization2 that technical expertise has developed to guide the state intervention in this region of the country are identified. Likewise, it analyzes the effects and adaptations of the environmental policies in the addressed communities, showing their density and multiple causes in a particular socio-historical stage as the Guaviare is.

This article analyzes how environmental conflicts shed light on the dispute of interests between social actors for the appropriation of nature. since environmentalism, they guide social action to the invention of a new mode of production and development that respect the cultural differences of the inhabitants, as well as promote conservation and active participation of the communities in the sustainable management of resources to ensure everyone equal access to its benefits and a better quality of life. This document studies specifically the history of the mobilization process of the Em-bera-Katio community from the Alto sinu, in resistance to the construction of the hydroelectric project Urra I and Urra II in their territory by identifying their motivations, the interests that converge on their land and the actors who contributed to the development of the mobilization.

This article reflects in an historical and etnographic key about some of the frictions and links between sugar cain agrobussiness and traditional farm in the northern plains of Cauca, since the mid xx century to the date. The historical perspective allows to trace the consolidation of the sugar cain agroindustrial model. The etnographic approach, describes from the inhabitants narratives some of the socio enviromental conflicts wich are generated by this model in the traditional farm. Both keys reveal how certain resources and natures are governed and intervened by multiple actors and logics. The article is a parcial result of the field work developed in some hamlets of the Villarrica and Padilla municipalities between june and august of 2013 and april and june of 2014. Also from the revision of specialized literature about socioenviromental conflicts from the political ecology approach.

This essay pretends to explore the fact that certain expert groups have become key influencers in the debate over mining in Colombia. To this end, it focuses on one of the issues of this controversy, which is part of the great debate: the publication of the book Mineria en Colombia: fundamentos para superar el modelo extractivista published in 2013. This work analyzes it and tries to show that, in regards to mining, expertises (geology, engineering, economics, law, sociology and even popular wisdom) are an integral part of the debate, and it also considers the fact that no public issue is separated from the production and use of knowledge.

The article analyzes the recurring environmental conflict associated with the products derived from logging. It takes as reference the confrontations for the monopoly of the cinchonas in western Santander and southern Bolivar, specifically from the perspective of the struggle between the federal and state political elites that took sides in the conflict for extraction starred by foreign executives allied to each of these sides during a time of transition between political regimes. This irregular war from 1878-1882 prevented each opponent to have full control of empty lands and the compliance of their contracts.

This article seeks to provide a minimal archeology of some of the main theoretical links that influenced how the modern concept of territory was articulated. This inquiry seeks to bring to light the extent this construct has operated as a key mechanism for the gradual establishment and institutionalization of the colonial geography of capital as a global western domination system, in particular, as an hegemonic geopolitical core.
