Citation: Yun Song, Ming Fu Li, Jin Xu. Protection and Utilization of Medicinal Biological Resources to Address Cross-Border Risk Challenges. Biomed J Sci & Tech Res 40(3)-2021. BJSTR. MS.ID.006445. Biological resources are the basis for human survival and development and have a direct bearing on our wellbeing. Humans must respect nature and follow its ways. Medicinal biological resources are important strategic biological resources, especially at the risk of loss and abuse. The cross-border trade based on economic interests has led to the over exploitation and abuse of biological species resources. A new pattern of biological resources conservation has largely taken shape, with improvements to the legal system, supervision mechanisms and governing capacity for eco-conservation, marking the beginning of a new era for biological resources conservation and utilization.

A simple, rapid, precise, sensitive, economical, robust and QbD based RP -HPLC method has been developed for Naftidrofuryl oxalate and validated as per ICH guidelines. The response surface methodology employed with a 3-factor, 3- level Box-Behnken statistical design and used to facilitate method development and optimization. The response surface methodology and multiple response optimizations utilizing a polynomial equation were used to select suitable mobile phase combination. The independent variables studied were the Organic phase (X 1 ), Aqueous phase(X2) and (X 3 ) and the responses was Retention time (Y 1 ), Resolution (Y 2 ) and Tailing factor (Y 3 ). Chromatographic separation was achieved on Zodiac C18 column (100mm×4.6, 3µm),using optimized mobile phase Acetonitrile and pH-7 Tetrabutyl-ammonium buffer solution (90:10), at 282nm. The flow rate and injection volume were 1.0 mL-1 min and 20 µL, respectively. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) confirmed that the three factors were significant. The method was validated for linearity, system suitability, recovery (accuracy), precision, robustness, ruggedness, limit of quantitation (LOD) and detection (LOQ) as per the ICH guidelines. The precision, ruggedness and robustness values were also within the prescribed limits. Calibrations curves were linear (r2= 0.997) at the concentration range of 10 to 50μg/mL. LOD and LOQ values were 12.914µg/mL and 39.132µg/mL respectively. The proposed method was successfully developed by applying QBD based concept and proposed method can be used for routine analysis of Naftidrofuryl oxalate in quality control laboratories.

A review and assessment of methods for the extraction of active biocomponents from plant raw materials is presented. The overview contains a tables to facilitate the initial perception of this topic. Examples of stationary and mobile installations developed in the world are described. The prospects of the Super-critical CO 2 -extraction method, as the most effective for the extraction of valuable biomedical components, have been analyzed. The schemes and samples of the used CO 2 -extractors are shown. The technical diagrams and appearance of the author’s experimental supercritical CO 2 extractor were presented. A detailed description of an new-generation of experimental mobile installationwere done, its complete set and the possibilities of supercritical CO 2 -extraction for processing plant raw materials are given. New engineering and technical solutions in the operation of a mechanical system were demonstrated. There includes an improved construction of a high gas-pressure throttle valve installed in storage tanks, and innovations in the system for loading-unloading raw materials using removable nozzles. The operating parameters of the functional elements and their resource are indicated. As a result of successful working, the templates of obtained extracts were presented.
