The X-ray diffraction and complex thermal analysis show that the fraction of clay with the particle size ≤ 0.5×10–6 m from the Khmelnytskyi region is represented by the Ca–Mg-form of ferric-type montmorillonite. The mineral’s interlayer spacings are partially intercalated with natural organic matter. Based on the results of the photocolorimetry studies of the methylene blue dye sorption, the montmorillonite exchange capacity was defined and confirmed by thermogravimetric data. In terms of the dominant mineral’s ability to form organo-mineral complexes, it is recommended that studied clay be used for the environmental purposes as an engineering method of landfill protection against leachate by installing imprevious screens on these landfills.

In the work, research was conducted aimed at determining the quality of juices from unfiltered Polish producers. The evaluation of juice quality was based on sensory analysis and determination of physicochemical properties, namely: density, total extract content, acidity. The tasting assessment of juice quality was carried out on a 5-point scale, on the basis of which the quality level was calculated using a complex method that takes into account the importance of individual indicators in the overall quality of the product. It has been established that unclarified juices are of high quality, which is due to easy pasteurization and the absence of the clarification process.

The sorption capacity of natural clinoptilolite of the Transcarpathian field in relation to the Boryslav field oil has been studied. It is shown that the sorption of oil occurs almost immediately after its contact with clinoptilolite. This forms the absorption front, which moves up the zeolite layer. Based on the analysis of the sorption process, it was concluded that lighter fractions of oil are sorbed faster and play the role of "solvent" for heavier fractions. It is shown that the sorption capacity of initial clinoptilolite is slightly higher than that of thermally activated. It was found that with increasing dispersion of clinoptilolite the mass of sorbed oil increases significantly, but the sorption capacity of different fractions, taking into account the height of the working layer differs slightly.

Based on data on the composition of azeotropic solutions for the acetic acid - acrylic acid system, the parameters of the semi-empirical Wilson model for temperatures 320, 330, 340, 350 K were calculated using the mathematical software package Mathcad 14 by iterations. The obtained parameters made it possible to describe the vapor-liquid equilibrium in the acetic acid-acrylic acid system: to calculate the composition of the equilibrium phases, the activity coefficients of the solution components, the separation coefficient and to construct p-x isothermal boil diagrams.

As a result of complex theoretical and experimental research, scientific approaches to determining the volume of intercellular and cellular media based on ideas about the mechanisms of mass transfer in the solid-state system of cell structure-fluid are substantiated. Establishing objective values of volumes of intercellular and cellular media and according to known mathematical models it becomes possible to estimate the values of diffusion coefficients through the cell membrane and in the intercellular environment, as well as to develop a methodology for calculating extraction processes from solids.

Using the precision bomb combustion calorimeter B-08-MA, the combustion energies of 5-(4- nitrophenyl)-furan-2-carbaldehyde, 5-(2-methyl-4-nitrophenyl)-furan-2-carbaldehyde and 5-(2- oxymethyl-4-nitrophenyl)-furan-2-carbaldehyde. Based on the obtained data, the values of enthalpies of combustion and formation of substances in the condensed state are calculated. A comparative analysis of experimentally determined values with theoretically calculated values by additive calculation methods is given.

The efficiency of application of advanced oxidation processes for removal of methyl orange mono azo dye from wastewater is considered. For intensive oxidative degradation of methyl orange, it was proposed to use a combination of ultrasonic cavitation and “Peroxate” process – the “Sonoperoxate” process. Rational conditions for oxidative degradation of methyl orange at its initial concentration in an aqueous solution of 25 mg/dm3 (76.5·10-6 mol/dm3) were established: the molar ratio of methyl orange:hydrogen pero- xide:potassium metaperiodate = 1:50:10; pH of the reaction medium – 3; temperature – 293 K; specific power of cavitation ultrasonic treatment – 68 W/dm3. Under such conditions, the degradation degree of methyl orange of 89.4 % was achieved for 1800 s.

Ways of using chromoxane in the process of cyclohexane oxidation are considered. Various technological parameters of chromoxane use in the process of cyclohexane oxidation and their influence on the main indicators of this process have been studied. The combined effect of chromoxane in binary systems with different salts of metals of variable valence on their catalytic activity in the oxidation of cyclohexane was determined.

The analysis of literature sources on the use of enzymes, enzyme preparations and immobilized enzymes, allowed to determine which enzymes are used in certain sectors of the food industry. It is established that the condition for the use of enzymes in the food industry is the availability, low cost and inertia relative to the target product. Examples of the wide use of enzymes, enzyme preparations and immobilized enzymes in the technological processes of the food industry are given, which contribute to improving the quality of food products and improving their storage conditions.
