Magnetic Properties and Structures of Electrodeposited Iron Films 电沉积铁膜的磁性能与结构

It is shown that the magnetic properties, structure, and residual stress of Fe films electrodeposited from iron (II) chloride solution are strongly dependent on electrodeposition conditions such as the applied current density and solution temperature. The applied current was varied from 5 to 100 mA/cm2, and the solution temperature was also varied from 20°C to 60°C. Under these conditions, lower coercive forces were obtained at lower current densities and higher solution temperatures, and it appeared that the residual stress was the dominant factor in the magnetic properties of the films. The value of the Q factor of a coil composed of Cu wire coated with these Fe films was measured; the Q factor was found to vary over the range of deposition conditions studied, and was dependent on the coercive force.

Magnetic Aftereffect and Magnetization Reversal of Sr-Ferrite Fine Particles 锶铁氧体细颗粒的磁后效应和磁化反转

the magnetic aftereffect constant (Sv), the anisotropy field (HA) distribution and the rotational hysteresis integral (Rh) were measured for M-type hexagonal strontium ferrite (SrM) fine particles with various average particle diameters (D) and coercive forces (HcJ). The relations between Sv, the activation volume (v), HcJ, HA, and Rh were studied, as well as the effect of milling. Sv is constant and independent of the magnetic field. In Sv varies in proportion to In HcJ, and the relation HcJ∝v-2 was found to obtain in SrM particles not extensively subjected to milling. Sv increases and v decreases for SrM fine particles (D=0.3 μm) whose HA is widely distributed by milling, even though HcJ decreases markedly. Sv and v are related to the distribution of HA. As HcJ increases, Rh and v decrease, which indicates that the magnetization reversal mechanism of SrM fine particles approaches that of a coherent rotation mode.

Crystal Distortion of Submicron Sr-Ferrite Particles by Milling 亚微米Sr铁氧体颗粒的铣削变形

Submicron-size particles of M-type Sr ferrite were obtained from fine Fe2O3 and precipitated SrCO3. The magnetic properties of the powder were σs=71 emu/g and HcJ=5.5 kOe. The HcJ of the powder was reduced to less than 40% of its initial value by dry vibration milling. SEM observations showed that the primary particle size distribution was not much different from that in the initial state. Crystal distortion was determined by X-ray diffraction studies, using the method of Warren and Averbach. The torque curve of the milled powder was measured using a highly sensitive torque magnetometer. The dependence of K2/K1 on the measuring magnetic field was increased with milling-induced crystal distortion. The Mössbauer absorption effect was also measured. submicron particles were analyzed in comparison with coarse Sr ferrite particles (3 μm) by a conventional breaking-down process.

Recording Properties of Co-Based Alloy Heat-Treated Media 钴基合金热处理介质的记录性能

The recording properties of Co-based alloy heat-treated media using carbon substrates with high heat resistance were investigated. For media with the same Hc, the amplitude and media noise of the CoCrTa media were lower than those of CoNiCr and CoCrPt media, because of the lower Brδ (where δ is the thickness of the Co-based alloy layer). For CoNiCr media with the same Brδ, the media noise decreased with increasing Hc, that is, with increasing heat treatment temperature. Analyses of the rotational hysteresis loss using a highly sensitive torque magnetometer and high resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy (HRSTEM) showed that the values of Hc/Hkgrain increased to 0.44 with increasing Hc, and that the Cr concentration at the grain boundaries of the CoNiCr also increased. It is therefore thought that the reduction in noise was achieved as a result of reduced exchange coupling between grains.

Magnetic Properties and Microstructures of Nanocrystalline Fe-M (M=Y,Ce)-O Films 纳米Fe-M(M=Y,Ce)-O薄膜的磁性能和微观结构

Recently, Fe-based nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys with a high saturation magnetization Bs, produced by melt-spinning and sputtering, have been discovered. Most of these alloys are obtained by annealing an amorphous phase, and consequently there is a limit to the Bs imposed by glass-forming materials. We have been studying soft magnetic alloy films with high Bs, which have nanocrystalline structures in the as-deposited state. In this paper, we describe the magnetic and structural properties of nanocrystalline Fe-M-O (M=Y,Ce) alloy films. The Y or Ce and O elements in the films tend to make the bcc grains finer in the as-deposited state, and also repress the growth of grains during annealing through the presence of very fine (less than 10 nm in size) oxide particles containing Y or Ce. The highest Bs and μe values at 1 MHz, and the lowest Hc value, were 1.95 T, 1200 and 0.6 Oe respectively for a Fe85Y4O11 film annealed at 773K for one hour.

Structure and Soft Magnetic Properties of Fe-Ti-M (M=Al,Si,Co) Ternary Films Fe-Ti-M(M=Al,Si,Co)三元薄膜的结构与软磁性能

The magnetic and structural properties of sputtered Fe-Al-Ti, Fe-Si-Ti and Fe-Co-Ti ternary films were investigated. Samples were annealed at 673K for one hour. Crystal structures were bcc for the Fe-Si-Ti and Fe-Co-Ti ternary films, and a mixture of bcc and bcc+Fe2Ti for the Fe-Al-Ti ternary films. The addition of Ti reduces &3x001F5;rain sizes to a minimum of about 10 nm. Addition of Al, Si or Ti to Fe reduces the saturation magnetic flux density of Fe-Al-Ti and Fe-Si-Ti films, and addition of Co increases the saturation magnetic flux density of Fe-Co-Ti. Zero-magnetostriction samples were obtained in each ternary system. Low coercivity (under 5 Oe) and high initial permeability (about 1000) were obtained together with zero magnetostriction for Fe-Al-Ti ternary films by adding a small amount of Ti. In the case of Fe-Co-Ti ternary films, low coercivity and high permeability were obtained along with small grain sizes of 10 nm or so. Films with low magnetostriction (λs≪3×10-6) had a coercivity roughly proportional to the third power of the grain diameter.

Crystal structures were bcc for the Fe-Si-Ti and Fe-Co-Ti ternary films, and a mixture of bcc and bcc+Fe\u0000<sub>2</sub>\u0000Ti for the Fe-Al-Ti ternary films. The addition of Ti reduces &3x001F5;rain sizes to a minimum of about 10 nm. Addition of Al, Si or Ti to Fe reduces the saturation magnetic flux density of Fe-Al-Ti and Fe-Si-Ti films, and addition of Co increases the saturation magnetic flux density of Fe-Co-Ti. Zero-magnetostriction samples were obtained in each ternary system. Low coercivity (under 5 Oe) and high initial permeability (about 1000) were obtained together with zero magnetostriction for Fe-Al-Ti ternary films by adding a small amount of Ti. In the case of Fe-Co-Ti ternary films, low coercivity and high permeability were obtained along with small grain sizes of 10 nm or so. Recording Characteristics of Obliquely Oriented Particulate Tapes 倾斜取向颗粒带的记录特性

It has been reported that high-density and wide-bandwidth characteristics may be obtained by using a ring head with obliquely oriented metal evaporated magnetic recording tape. We therefore developed new equipment for the preparation of obliquely oriented tapes based on γ-Fe2O3 particles, and examined the morphology, magnetic properties, and wavelength response of the tapes. The experimental results showed that tape with an oblique orientation of 30° has the highest output and widest bandwidth characteristics.

A Design Consideration for Main-Pole Shapes of Single-Pole Heads 单极头主极形状的设计考虑

The magnetic field distribution of a single-pole head in combination with a double-layered recording medium were analyzed by a two-dimensional finite element method. In the recording process, magnetic saturation occurs midway in the main pole, and this saturation decreases the head field strength and the sharpness. On the other hand, a large amount of magnetic flux leaks out from the middle of the main pole in reproduction. In accordance with these results, we designed a new main pole structure. As a result, the recording and readback sensitivities and the overwrite were improved. A D50 of 170 kFRPI was obtained by combining this new SPT head, with an 0.15 μm thick main pole, with a double-layered hard disk employing an 0.05 μm thick Co-Cr recording layer.

Instability Improvement in a Single Pole Head Using a Co-Zr-Nb Multi-Layered Main-Pole Film 用Co-Zr-Nb多层主电极膜改善单极头的不稳定性

Perpendicular magnetic recording is one method of achieving high recording densities. In perpendicular magnetic recording using a single-pole type (SPT) head, a main pole film with stable operation must be employed. In this respect, use of a single-layer main pole film has a serious limitation because of its domain structure. On the other hand, multilayer main pole films are thought to have no such limitations, because closure domains are eliminated by magnetic coupling. However, SPT heads using multilayer thin films often show instability in reproduce processes. We found that the instability could be removed by applying a dc magnetic field to the multilayer main pole. The stress in the multilayer film was related to instability in the head's behavior. We also showed that an underlayer between the magnetic layers and the substrate is necessary to eliminate the stress in multilayer films.
