Using a multimode fiber as a high-resolution, low-loss spectrometer 使用多模光纤作为高分辨率,低损耗光谱仪

We demonstrate that a multi-mode fiber can operate as a high-resolution spectrometer after calibrating the wavelength-dependent speckle patterns. A 20m fiber provides 8pm resolution and a 2cm fiber enables broadband operation covering the visible spectrum.

The exploitation of a THz frequency comb for absolutely-referenced THz spectroscopy is presented. The frequency of a 2.5-THz QCL, phase-locked to the comb, is swept across a methanol line, providing the spectroscopy with and absolute-frequency scale.

We fabricate four different size grating structure on the top of the quantum well infrared photodetectors, then etch them into four different etching depth. With suitable design, the peak responsivity of the QWIPs is about thirteen times larger than that of the conventional QWIP.

We analyze the performance of FMCW ranging with photon-counting detectors. We derive the Cramér-Rao bound, then determine the optimal fraction of signal-arm photons, given a fixed mean number of source-generated photons.

A meta-surface with electromechanically switchable diamagnetic terahertz meta-molecules is presented and experimentally demonstrated. The presented reconfigurable meta-surface enables record-high modulation depths and modulation bandwidths at terahertz frequencies, without a compromise on modulation speed and modulation voltage.

We use attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy to investigate electron dynamics around the first ionization threshold of helium. Our results expose that electron wave-packet interference effects are insufficient to explain all the observed phenomena.
