Truncated Lévy sum approach to intensity statistics in random lasers 随机激光中强度统计的截断lsamvy和方法

We present a novel approach towards understanding intensity statistics in random lasers by modeling emission dynamics in terms of truncated Lévy sums. Calculated statistics in our model are in excellent agreement with experimental results.

Methodology of surface wave holography for wavefront shaping of light 光波前整形的表面波全息方法

Plasmonic nanostructures have offered a wide variety of opportunities to manipulate the properties of light and light-matter interactions. In this talk we discuss a novel methodology called surface wave holography, which allows for direct determination of the morphology of plasmonic nanostructrues perforated on a metal thin film for wavefront control and shaping of light without the need of complicated inverse-problem solutions. Wavefront shaping of microwave, infrared, and visible light have been successfully realized and demonstrated.

Nonlinear optical studies are carried out on graphene-based polymer composites in the nanosecond and picosecond temporal regime. These graphene-composites demonstrate saturable absorption followed by reverse saturable absorption which depends on graphene content and operation regime.

Coherence-enhanced surface plasmon polariton propagation length

We theoretically demonstrate, an order of magnitude enhancement in propagation length of SPPs (visible wavelength) along a metal-phaseonium interface via quantum coherence. Such coherence effects hold promise for quantum control in the field of nanophotonics.

Stimulated Brillouin scattering amplification is demonstrated in 1 cm-long chalcogenide glass waveguides. The waveguides are directly written using a Ti:Sapphire laser operated at 810 nm wavelength. A Brillouin frequency shift of 7.45 GHz is observed.

Photonic entanglement interconversion between time-bin and polarization bases has application to quantum communication, computation and memories. We characterize hybrid-basis entanglement between a pair photons obtained through such interconversion and show that non-classical correlations persist.

We develop a Q-factor controllable photonic crystal nanobeam cavity incorporating quantum dots. Wide Q-factor control from 3,500 to 14,000 is demonstrated by means of MEMS, supplying bias from 0 to 18 V.
