The recent dynamics of the Real Estate sector in Mexico City influences new gentrification processes, having as the main support the State transformation as a facilitator agent of estate market jointly with the instrumental financial capital. The estate market interests within the city and suburbs expressed by the “Compact City” policy, have derived on gentrification and generalized social displacements related to the expensive and intensive edificability. The paper evidences the displacements induced by the private and publicprivate developers. It is also analysed the neoliberal conditions, strategies and synergies which contribute to the profitability of spaces within Mexico City, and its association with diff erent and growing experiences of social resistance against displacements. Two districts are highlighted: North Polanco y Colonia Juárez, where residents have organized social actions against the neoliberal gentrification projects and towards the defense of territory and the right to the city.

Cities are the engines of development in the 21st century. The key factor for its survival and development is water. Therefore, it is fundamental to study the complex water-availability relation in cities to boost the progress and welfare of societies. The modeling and simulation of the Urban Hydrosocial Cycle for the period 2015-2030 in the Metropolitan Area of Toluca (MAT) corresponds to the structural and dynamic interrelationship of the conceptual model of water supply and demand of the water-society system immersed in the Hydrosocial Basin, under a methodological approach of dynamic adaptive modeling. The scenarios reveal unsustainable tendencies, severe impacts and consequences that require deep reflection. It is an indispensable input for making strategic decisions in the planning and design of public water management policies, to achieve a sustainable, resilient and less vulnerable water supply in the coming decades.

EnglishAbstract: On the western side of the circumpuna in the Atacama Desert, along ecorefuges with favorable resources in the surrounding areas, the Late Archaic hunter-gatherers of the Puripica-Tulan phase (ca. 2600 to 1900 BC) initiated a process of “Neolithic” changes that included the domestication and breeding of camelids and that culminated in the Tilocalar phase (ca. 1200 a 550/430 BC). Among Late Archaic sites, Tulan-52 stands out by its aggregated and complex stone structures and can be considered as a prototype of ceremonial centres. Its innovative features continued in the archetypal Early Formative centre of Tulan-54, at a time when subsistence then included hunting, pastoralism and horticulture. Within a context of increasing social complexity, diverse rituals associated with feasting took place in both ceremonial centres. The latter led to the accumulation of food remains, tools and ornaments production remains, hearths and sediment, creating mounds that deliberately covered the ceremonial structures, under the guidance of emerging leadership.
