Validity of effective-medium theory in Mie scattering calculation of hollow dielectric sphere 有效介质理论在中空介质球Mie散射计算中的有效性

The effective-medium theory is extended to calculate the equivalent dielectric constants of hollow spheres. The Maxwell-Garnett, inverted Maxwell-Garnett, and Monecke rules are adopted to investigate the hollow ice spheres. Compared with P. Yang's paper, very different Maxwell-Garnett and inverted Maxwell-Garnett formulas but identical mean permittivity values are presented. In order to verify the validity of effective-medium theory in Mie scattering calculation of hollow dielectric spheres, n-layered Mie solution is adopted to calculate the scattering of hollow ice spheres. The mean permittivity values are used in common Mie scattering calculation of uniform sphere. By comparison, it is evident that the effective-medium theory is suitable for small size parameters. For size parameter is about ten, the effective theory is suitable for a very thin hollow ice sphere. At last, it is pointed out that the effective-medium theory make Mie scattering calculation of hollow spheres easier, and can be extended further to non-uniform and eccentric hollow spheres.

Analysis and synthesis of a multi-arm conical spiral antenna to form shaped-conical radiation patterns 一种多臂锥形螺旋天线的分析与合成,形成锥形辐射方向图

A multi-arm conical spiral wire antenna used in low orbit satellite communications is proposed, which can form cardio or conical patterns by adjusting its geometrical parameters. It has better polarization characteristic than the two-arm spiral antenna proposed in the reference. With the increase of its height and spiral constant its beam deviation from the axis increase while its power gain decrease to form conical radiation patterns. Several graphs about the influence of the parameters on radiation patterns are presented in this paper for the optimization of the antenna.

The influence of different-scale ionospheric irregularities on the residual error of the satellite navigation system 不同尺度电离层不规则性对卫星导航系统残差的影响

We investigate the influence of an inhomogeneous ionosphere on the accuracy of the dual frequency satellite navigation system. The geomagnetic field, and ray bending in the background large-scale inhomogeneous ionosphere and in small-scale random irregularities are taken into account. It is shown that the contribution from the background irregularity for moderate values of total electron content (TEC) is less than the contribution from the geomagnetic field and random irregularities. The contribution to the residual error made by radio wave diffraction from small-scale random irregularities is as small.

A Dual Frequency Small Loop Antenna Based on Genetic Algorithm 基于遗传算法的双频小环路天线

The genetic algorithm is employed to optimize the dual frequency matching network for a small size loop antenna. The antenna is optimized to work at 4~5MHz with VSWR less than 2.5 and 30 MHz VSWR less than 1.5, respectively. A real antenna is built and its test results are in good accordance with the calculated ones.

A High-Frequency Pulse Transmission System on Human Body Area: Simulation and Analysis 人体区域高频脉冲传输系统:仿真与分析

With the rapid progress of electronic and information technology, an expectation for the realization of body area network (BAN) has risen. In this study, we proposed a pulse transmission system with frequencies at dozens of megahertzes. The system was based on an impulse radio (IR) scheme with bi-phase modulation. By using the frequency-dependent finite difference time domain (FD2TD) method, we investigated the on-body transmission characteristics and derived a path loss expression. We also investigated the influences of Gaussian noises and other narrow-band interferences on the communication link budget and bit error rate (BER) performance.

A New Approach of Target Identification Using Enhanced Radar Range Profiles 一种基于增强雷达距离像的目标识别新方法

Due to the aspect dependence of high resolution range profiles (HRRPs), traditional radar HRRPs target identification (ID) methods usually use averaged or weighted HRRPs as an aspect template. A major shortcoming is that HRRPs cannot provide information about target's cross-range. In this study, we present an application of statistics method on complex radar targets. The enhanced HRRPs extracted by this method were used in radar target identification. It is shown from simulation results that identification performance can be improved greatly by using the enhanced HRRPs features combined with a two-stage fuzzy classifier.

Design of Substrate Integrated Waveguide Sum-Difference Comparator 衬底集成波导和差比较器的设计

The model and software simulation of a novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) sum-difference comparator based on 3dB-coupler with 90deg phase delay is proposed. Equivalent model parameters are initially used to determine geometric sizes and then numerical simulation is applied to make optimization and obtain electrical characteristic variations and electro-magnetic field distributions. An example comparator is presented for operating at 9 GHz, together with S-parameters curves and field distributions. This comparator can be used in minimized direction-finding radar systems.

Study of Light-scattering properties of bare substrates 裸衬底光散射特性的研究

Light scattering provides a powerful tool for bare substrate and thin films characterization. Angle-resolved light scattering has been used to quantify the surface roughness of optical components. However, light scattering properties are different between opaque substrate and transparent substrate because angle-resolved light scattering is affected by the contribution of both interfaces of the transparent substrate, it cannot be applied to transparent substrates. The light scattering properties of opaque and transparent substrate were described respectively in this paper and light scattering properties of transparent substrate were analyzed in detail considering of the effects of both interfaces of transparent substrate.

An Improved MUSIC Algorithm Implemented with High-speed Parallel Optimization for FPGA 一种基于FPGA的高速并行优化MUSIC算法

This paper proposes an improved MUSIC algorithm with high-speed parallel optimization for FPGA. Although MUSIC algorithm is a high-performance, classic DOA method, it needs estimation and eigenstructure decomposition of covariance matrix, which is time-consuming with high computation cost and not suitable for FPGA implementations. In this paper, the authors present an optimization algorithm without the eigenstructure decomposition of the covariance matrix. This algorithm offers far lower computation cost compared to MUSIC at the expense of little performance decrease. With parallel preprocessing focusing on correlation matrices estimation and spectral peak search, an FPGA implementation is introduced, and proved to be efficient through theoretical analysis, simulation and hardware implementation.

Application of Adaptive Interference Cancellation in EMC Tests 自适应干扰抵消技术在电磁兼容测试中的应用

This paper will introduce a scheme adopting adaptive interference cancellation to eliminate background noise in EMC tests. The principle is explained and an example is given to illuminate that the effect is excellent. This offers an available method to carry out EMC tests, such as RE and RS, without anechoic chamber.
