. ABSTRACT: T he objective of this research was to determine the effect saccharomy-ces enriched with selenium yeast (SeY) on Rahmani sheep and to evaluate the influence of the oral supplementation of saccharomyces enriched selenium on growth performance, Haematobiochemical, and antioxidant parameters in such sheep. Twenty Rahmani sheep were allocated into 4 groups , each group have five sheep, which were control group : received basal diet and not exposed to heat stress, Heat stress group (HS): received basal diet and exposed to heat stress, heat stressed with Saccharomyces enriched selenium(HS+SeY):received basal diet containing Saccharomyces enriched selenium and exposed to heat stress, non-heat stressed group with Saccharomyces enriched selenium (NHS+SeY):received basal diet with Saccharomyces enriched selenium and not exposed to heat stress. Temperature and humidity index were calculated. Experiment undergoes for two months (July and August). The results showed that Saccharomyces enriched selenium causes significant improvement in feed efficiency in sheep under heat stress. Saccharomyces enriched selenium supplementation to Hs sheep showed improvement of Haematological indicator and tendency toward normal values indicating positive effect of Saccharomyces enriched selenium. Furthermore, the findings of the study demonstrated that selenium enriched saccharomyces diet have positive impact on various blood metabolites, such as glucose, total protein, albumin, globulin, liver and kidney enzymes, and triglyceride

. ABSTRACT T his work aimed to assess residues of some heavy metal in Tilapia fish ( Oreochromis niloticus ) of varying weights captured from El Temsah Lake in Ismailia City, as well as evaluating their potential impacts on serum biochemical parameters, antioxidant state of liver and nutritional values of fish meat. One hundred random samples of Tilapia fish were collected in total (distributed into 3 different body weights groups) and were analyzed. The results displayed the presence of some heavy metal residues as lead, cadmium and copper in meat and liver, and their concentrations were directly correlated with fish size as residues were found to be higher in the larger Tilapia compared to the smaller ones. Regarding Egyptian (No. 7136/2010) and European Commission (EC, 2006), and FAO/WHO (2002) , 12% and 8% of total meat samples exceeded the permissible limits of lead and cadmium, respectively. While all samples of meat were within the permissible limit of copper concentration. In large sized fish, heavy metal residues led to significant rise in the levels of serum alanine and aspartate aminotransferases, creatinine, uric acid, indicating hepatic and renal dysfunction. Moreover, the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx), in large sized Tilapia fish exhibited an increase. However, the proximate analysis of the examined tilapia meat showed that the heavy metals concentrations in meat were not high at a level that

S triped catfish ( Pangasianodon hypophthalmus ) is one of the cultured finfish species in a variety of Asian countries, particularly India, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia. It is characterized by high growth rates, and the relatively acceptable and delicious taste of its fillets. It is an omnivorous fish as it can feed on algae, higher plants, herbal supplements, zooplankton, and insects. It also accepts formulated feeds. This fish can tolerate various environmental conditions and also grow well in high stocking densities. The above characteristics make this fish a valuable species to be imported by several countries. It has been recently introduced in Egypt as an exotic ornamental fish species. However, its farming and economic impacts on Egyptian aquaculture have not yet been satisfactorily explained. Pangasius culture in Egypt may increase the diversity of cultured finfish species. It will also improve the economic and social status and conditions of various stakeholders in the Egyptian communities. This article provides a synopsis of the biological features, global producers, habitats, reported diseases, and market trade of the pangasius fish. It will also spot-light the characteristics and suitability of pangasius culture in Egypt. This will pave the way for further future research studies to stand solid ground on the culture of this valuable fish species.

T he present study was designed to evaluate the potential presence and features of Listeria monocytogenes in different commercial and native poultry breeds. Overall, the isolation of L. monocytogenes strains from different chicken species was 42/550 (7.6%). L. monocyto-genes showed high resistance to streptomycin (83.3%) and amoxicillin/ clavulanic acid (78.5%) and was highly sensitive to vancomycin, gentamy-cin, and chloramphenicol. Multiple drug resistance (MAR) index values for 59.5% of the isolates were greater than 0.2. L. monocytogenes strains were screened for five virulence factors associated with genes, namely inlA, act A , hly A , iap, and inlB . The presence of the five virulence genes were 83.3%, 66.6%, 59.5%, 57.1%, and 45.2% for act A , iap, inl A , hly A, and inl B, respectively, in the identified L. monocytogenes isolates . Moreover, histopathological examination revealed marked changes in the brain and heart as the most affected tissues. Both the cerebral hemispheres and cerebellum were affected and exhibited marked encephalitis represented by diffuse congestion of cerebral blood vessels. These findings suggest that poultry products may play a role in the zoonotic spread and transmission of multidrug-resistant and virulent L. monocytogenes , which can pose a health risk at human-poultry interface, especially in the absence of stringent hygienic standards and preventive measures.
在已鉴定的单核细胞增生症菌株中,act A、iap、inl A、hly A 和 inl B 这五种毒力基因的存在率分别为 83.3%、66.6%、59.5%、57.1% 和 45.2%。
