Events such as illness, death, violence, and war deeply affect the life of the individual or the social structure and cause radical changes and traumas. In the historical process of art, it is seen that artists are not indifferent to traumas, on the contrary, traumas constitute the center of their work. This article examines how the letter is handled as a means of communication between the artist and the audience in contemporary artworks that want to face personal or social traumas. In this context, examples of contemporary art that want to be aware of the traumas experienced, to tell them, to come to terms with the past and to achieve improvement in the name of the future, and using the letter as a means of expression, are included. In these works, where the letter is used as a means of expression and communication, the writer, reader or listener changes; the letter is written/read/listened to by the artist or the audience. Thus, the audience plays an important role as well as the letter in the emergence and completion of the work. This, in turn, turns the works into an interactive space, allowing to face the past and to realize the trauma experienced.

In this study, we aimed to investigate whether there is a change in the levels of vitamin D, vitamin B12, folic acid, which are important for metabolism, and homocysteine levels, which are considered to be an indicator of oxidative stress, in women with osteoarthritis. This study was conducted on 30 women with osteoarthritis (Group I) and 30 healthy women (Group II) who applied to the orthopedic outpatient clinic in Kahramanmaras Necip Fazil City Hospital between January and December 2020. Plasma homocysteine, serum folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin D levels were evaluated in the study. In homocysteine levels; a statistically significant increase was found in the group with osteoarthritis (Group I) (p<0.05). In folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin D levels; a statistically significant decrease was detected in the group with osteoarthritis (Group I) (p<0.05). In conclusion, we think that folic acid, which provide homocysteine excretion; vitamin B12 and vitamin D levels that contribute to the development of OA should be followed up and added to the diet in case of deficiency in patients with OA or joint disease that reduce the quality of life.

Becoming a patient with chronic HF involves a process of taking on a new identity. The behaviours of the patients have been based on their experience of the disease. The aim of this study was to explore HF patients health behaviours, beliefs, experiences, adaptation, coping strategies and learning process. The design is qualitative descriptive. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 21 HF patients. Content analysis was used to analyse. Patient learning process and behaviours in chronic heart failure were determined by using basic principles of SLT. Four main themes that emerged from the the qualitative data: restrictions, fellowship, learn to cope, roles. Heart failure patients explain their restriction about daily activity and sexuality. Also, they state about spouse's support, coping with chronic disease, changing of their roles, fear particularly when experiencing severe shortness of breath. SLT indicate that an individual’s representation of illness affects how they cope and view their quality of life. This is the first study that SLT being used to study patients with HF in Turkey. The results of the study will be helpful in developing new strategies and interventions to improve patient coping behaviours.

The heating and cooling load of buildings gets reduced by preventing heat transfer to the external environment using exterior wall insulation. In addition to the saving achieved by reducing fuel consumption, the amount of harmful gases emitted into the atmosphere also gets reduced and a positive contribution is made to the environment. It is a known fact that 85% of CO2 emission in Turkey is caused by the energy sector in Turkey. In this study, the optimum insulation thickness of exterior walls and emission per unit area was calculated for 81 provinces in Turkey. The Life Cycle Cost method was used as the approach. As a result, it was determined that while the optimum insulation thickness varied between 0.024m (İçel) and 0.149m (Ardahan), a 75%-80% reduction can be achieved in emissions. Additionally, energy savings and payback periods based on optimum insulation thickness in heating and cooling for provinces selected from five different climatic zones (Antalya, Istanbul, Ankara, Kayseri, and Erzurum) were calculated and compared. In the selected provinces, the highest energy savings and the shortest payback period were obtained for Erzurum as 46.93$/m and 1.33 years.

Nowadays, trapezoidal sheets, which are mostly used in the manufacture of prefabricated buildings, roofs, containers, sheds and warehouses, may meet structural strength requirements with difference in sizes and thicknesses. When a machine such as a genset is placed inside a container, dynamic loads arise and the standard trapezoidal profiles become insufficient. The dynamic behavior of the structure should also be examined in such products wherefore low vibration and noise values are desired in marketplace. In this study, comparative studies have been carried out with different trapezoidal sheet sections in order to obtain the desired dynamic behavior. Finite element analyzes have been done for different trapezoidal section geometries and the verification study was carried out by performing an experimental modal analysis on a sample in order to match up with the numerical results.
