Our quality of life is improving as technology advances and the internet becomes an indispensable part of our lives. We use internet-based technology tools to make our daily tasks easier. Both ordinary people and people with disabilities use these tools. Individuals with intellectual disabilities, on the other hand, may find it difficult to learn digital tools and programs. The designs and contents of digital tools are incompatible with the use of mentally challenged people. In this study, a mobile and a web application was created to teach people with disabilities how to use digital tools. The Inclusive Digital Academy (IDA) project, funded by the European Union and carried out through the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 program, involved 11 partners from ten countries. Within the scope of this project, the design, content, development, testing, and outputs were completely prepared for and made available to disabled individuals. This study explains the application's digital contents, technical details, and test results.

From the early beginning of construction in history, priority of using daylight has played an active role in the settlement decision, building shape and façade design. Today, the necessity of conscious consumption has become an accepted fact due to the depletion of energy resources. For this reason, the effective use of daylight and reducing lighting energy consumption have become one of the most important goals of today's architecture. The purpose of the natural lighting system is providing sufficient daylight to the target area, considering the visual comfort conditions. Nowadays, for the architectural design of buildings, the use of passive systems is primarily preferred in terms of energy efficiency. The use of natural lighting as a passive system, minimizing building lighting energy requirements and creating the desired visual environment should be prioritized in terms of providing visual comfort. In educational buildings, it is vital to design a lighting system in which daylight is used effectively in order to meet the visual needs of the instructors and students and to minimize the usage of lighting energy. Within the scope of the TS EN 17037 standard, which was developed for daylight assessment in buildings and approved by CEN on 29.07.2018 and lastly updated on 02.03.2022, the criteria for daylight assessment is handled under 4 headings: daylight provision, view out, exposure to sunlight and protection from glare. For each criteria specified in indoor daylight assessment, three grades are defined as 'minimum, medium and high'. In this study, the criterion of providing daylight in educational buildings was examined in accordance with the TS EN 17037 standard. With the study, it is aimed to develop an approach to determine the optimum values of the parameters of direction, obstacle presence and transparency ratio in the context of providing sufficient daylight in the primary classroom design. Investigated building type is the primary school building classroom, which was created in optimum dimensions according to the characteristics of primary education classrooms defined in the ‘Educational Buildings Minimum Design Standards Guide’ published by the Ministry of National Education. It is aimed to evaluate and develop the criteria given in the ‘Educational Buildings Minimum Design Standards Guide’ according to the TS EN 17037 standard, which defines daylight performance in Turkey. The classroom model discussed within the scope of the study has been modeled with the Rhino program according to the alternative transparency rates and obstacle situations; In the simulation, the Climate Studio plugin, which was developed for the calculation of dynamic evaluation parameters, was used. The area handled by using evaluation methods according to the 17037 standard included in the software was evaluated in terms of annual daylight performance. The availability of target illuminance levels in half of the daylight hours throughout the year was calculat

The aroma release and perception of food during consumption are the factors that determine the final aroma quality of a food. Since flavorings are composed of volatile compounds, when they enter the food matrix, they are easily removed from the food and reduce the perception of taste and smell. The removal of volatile compounds from the food matrix can be achieved by reducing the release of flavoring in the food. For this purpose, by using xanthan gum in flavorings, the release of aromatic volatile compounds can be prevented by keeping them in the film layer, improving the perception of flavor by increasing the feeling of keeping the aroma in the mouth. In addition, the volatility of flavoring substances is reduced with increasing boiling point and decreasing vapor pressure as a result of the increase in viscosity provided by xanthan gum. For this purpose, high viscosity flavorings were obtained by using xanthan gum.

Street lighting is an important part of the energy consumption of cities. With suitable smart lighting systems that increase energy efficiency, it is possible to save on lighting costs substantially. Intelligent street lighting systems generally consist of lamps, ballast and dimming devices located in the area to be illuminated, control units placed in different lighting zones, and central management systems that can manage and monitor these regional controls. With smart lighting systems suitable for energy efficiency, it is possible to save a great deal of lighting costs while protecting the environment. When current projects are examined, it is seen that up to 80% energy savings can be achieved when automation systems are used in street lighting. There is a need for an approach that controls the luminous flux without reducing the driver's safety and comfort, and that performs dimming studies using machine learning methods. In this paper, the smart street lighting system developed jointly by ISBAK and Panasonic is explained.

It is aimed to develop innovative techniques as an alternative to sewing in denim fabrics, to design seamless garments by applying these techniques and to adapt them to mass production. Seamless products, finishing costs applied to sewing threads and elimination of seam deformations (lycra slips, punctures, warp cuts, etc.); It offers many advantages both at the production stage and for the end users, such as labor costs, the number of machines in the production scheme, energy costs, reduction of yarn and fabric stocks. In addition, by using this method, features such as increasing the aesthetic value, comfort and body movement freedom of the clothes, and adding softness to the clothes can be provided. Within the scope of this study, recipes were prepared with different adhesives and chemicals and seamless denim products were developed by using hot press, ironing, teflon press, ultrasonic sewing and hot air bonding techniques. Strength values at seam points were compared with conventional seam strengths. In addition, bending stiffness, staining and thermal resistance tests were applied. The bonding recipe and process that offers the highest seam strength and heat resistance performance and does not stain was obtained. Denim products produced in accordance with the obtained recipe and recommended process are in daily use and maintenance conditions (1 cycle: 5 days of wearing in a week, 1 time washing using commercial detergent and fabric softener and laying dry) It has been tried on 25 users for 6 months (26 cycles) and it has been seen that there is no performance loss compared to the unused denim product.

The environment in which traditional buildings are located, the socio-cultural texture to which they belong, the conservation of their original texture together with years of life experience play a significant role in the transfer of traditional buildings to next generations. The conservation of the traditional building contributes to the sustainability of the historical texture, not only with the conservation of this building but together with the conservation of cultural environment the building belongs. The settlement, culture, environmental conditions, economic dimensions, conservation problems and appropriate solutions to these problems are the most important factors that play role in transmitting that culture to future generations. However, most of the traditional buildings, which are private properties, have survived thanks to the punctual interventions and conscious use of the users. This study aims to analyze a case study in order to discuss the role of conscious use of the building and on-site user interventions, which is one of the important factors in the sustainability of traditional buildings. In this context, Ayvalık, with its traditional houses and unique texture, is selected as the settlement where the case study is conducted. Depending on the constant change of their users, Ayvalık houses have survived by "partially preserving their original texture", "reconstructing in accordance with their original texture" or "partially or completely demolished. In this context, a second-degree historical building in Ayvalık is examined according to the characteristics of the traditional house in order to compare the old and the new situation of the building. In this direction, it is aimed to discuss the conservation of the original spatial characteristics of the examined building and the role of the individual intervention of its users in the sustainability of the traditional house. As a result, it is determined that the house preserves its original spatial characteristics and that conscious individual interventions depending on the original characteristics contribute to the sustainability of traditional houses.

The textile industry is a sector that is constantly alive and growing, and the technologies and designs used in the sector are constantly developing. In recent years, there has been a great demand for products that look worn and faded paint. (Hacı et al., 2015) In order to obtain this image, bleaching techniques and washing techniques are used. This technique is extensively used on denim and knitted fabrics. (Technical Bulletin, 2000). In this study, it was aimed to reduce energy costs, working hours of workers and textile waste by testing the bleaching method with AKR001 on products made of knitted fabric, and the results were evaluated statistically. The advantages provided in this alternative study, which was developed instead of the traditional moonwash method, are interpreted in detail in the results section of the article. The current process developed will contribute to the change of the sector in terms of sustainability when considered in terms of environmental awareness and efficiency.

Ensuring customer satisfaction is an important issue in the retail industry. The way to achieve this satisfaction is to provide a quality service. The data on the price tags on the product shelves are frequently updated. These data should be included on the price tags in their current form. Customers may encounter inaccurate information on price tags in shopping places, which causes negative results in terms of customer loyalty and satisfaction. The data on the price tags is mostly checked manually, which can cause human errors. In this study, a deep learning-based solution is proposed for fast and high accuracy detection of price tag area. One of the first and important stages of a deep learning-based price recognition system is the correct detection of the price tag area. The successful execution of this stage is important for the successful execution of the next processes (barcode reading, price reading). The proposed method has been tested on mobile phones. It is envisaged that the proposed method is applicable in its current form and can be a technical reference for similar problems in the retail industry.

The way to achieve this satisfaction is to provide a quality service. The data on the price tags on the product shelves are frequently updated. These data should be included on the price tags in their current form. Customers may encounter inaccurate information on price tags in shopping places, which causes negative results in terms of customer loyalty and satisfaction. The data on the price tags is mostly checked manually, which can cause human errors. In this study, a deep learning-based solution is proposed for fast and high accuracy detection of price tag area. One of the first and important stages of a deep learning-based price recognition system is the correct detection of the price tag area. The successful execution of this stage is important for the successful execution of the next processes (barcode reading, price reading). The proposed method has been tested on mobile phones. It is envisaged that the proposed method is applicable in its current form and can be a technical reference for similar problems in the retail industry.","PeriodicalId":117452,"journal":{"name":"Orclever Proceedings of Research and Development","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132895271","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Call Centers are the principal point of product and service providers, where they influence the customers. The fluctuations in the emotional states of the call center personnel directly affect the customers. These fluctuations may cause positive/negative results for the company in places where customer interaction is intense. Today, the supervision and evaluation of the activities of the agent, who is in contact with the customers, is essential in measuring and increasing the quality of the service.The system of rewarded bonuses is a way to encourage the employee. However, in the last decades, we have also observed that the emotional state´s effects are essential in the employee's performance. At present, analyzing, determining, and understanding agents' emotional states and work performance is highly necessary. This project has been started to measure the customer representatives´ emotional state and activities. This project addresses the need to evaluate customer representatives that work at Call Centers. Within the context of this research, we predict the emotional state of the customer representative while dialing in with the customer. According to the prototype software of the proposed methodology, customer representatives´ emotional situations on the dials are convenient to transfer as data to the Performance Evaluating Systems. With this project, it will be possible to score customer representatives according to their emotional states in the calls evaluated in quality evaluation and performance measurements, as well as personal support inferences for the personnel.
