An Intercultural Study on Flute Instruction in Music Teacher Training Programs (The German and Turkish Examples) 音乐教师培训项目中长笛教学的跨文化研究(以德国和土耳其为例)

The main objective of the present study was to determine the similarities and differences between flute instruction in music teacher training programs in Turkish and German universities, which possess significant qualities in flute instruction, and thus, to provide different perspectives for flute instructors and contribute to flute instruction in Turkey. Relational screening method, which is a general screening model based on the determination of correlations by comparison, was used in the present descriptive study. The study group included 26 flute instructors employed in music teacher training institutions in Turkey and Germany. Analysis of the quantitative data collected with the survey method was conducted with IBM SPSS 20.0 software and frequency and percentage tables were generated, Mann-Whitney U-Test was used to compare the two groups and analysis results were interpreted at Asst. Prof. Raziye Nil AKSOY / Prof. Salih AKKAŞ 156 0.05 significance level. In conclusion, both similarities and differences were identified between the flute instruction structures of the countries.

Adventure therapy is based on experiential learning approach covering physical tasks assigned to participants in small groups generally in outdoor settings. In addition to continuously increasing awareness of adventure therapy, it has a wide research area including different populations and variables. Adventure therapy yields significant results especially when it is conducted with children and adolescents as it includes adventure and physical outdoor activities. Adventure therapy, which is a therapeutic approach requiring professional expertise, has its own methods as well as different components from other therapeutic approaches. Adventure therapy is gaining popularity in Turkey and attracts the attention of practitioners and researchers. This paper is intended to provide an overview to the readers about theoretical basis and principles of adventure therapy by touching unique techniques used in adventure therapy as well as the session process and content. Information is given about the session process and the activities carried out. Finally, conclusion and recommendations for Turkey are discussed in the light of literature.
