Effects of "Geography of the Turkic World" Course on Social Studies Teacher Candidates Views about Turkic Culture and Turkic World 《突厥世界地理》课程对社会学科教师候选人突厥文化与突厥世界观的影响

The purpose of this study is to measure the expectations regarding the course on “Geography of the Turkic World”, an elective course given in the Social Studies Education Departments of Education Faculties in Turkey, of the students who opt for it, and the extent to which the course met these expectations. The research was conducted in the faculty of education, department of social studies education from a University in İstanbul. Sample group of the study consists of 17 prospective teachers of social studies who had selected the course on Geography of the Turkic World. The study covering the 2015 spring term was conducted in a total period of 16 weeks. In the research, mixed method was used and concurrent/parallel design was utilized. 1 A part of this study was presented in “International Turkish Education Sciences and Social Sciences” in Antalya between 1st – 4th December 2016 as a verbal statement. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meryem HAYIR-KANAT / Assist. Prof. Dr. Genç Osman İLHAN 96 Quantitative and qualitative data was collected concurrently so as to consist variation among each other. In the qualitative dimension, data was collected through open ended questions, while in the quantitative dimension data was reached via pre-tests and post-tests. Collected data was analysed through content analysis in the qualitative dimension, and through t test in the quantitative dimension. According to the results deduced from the data obtained from the study, it has been detected that perceptions of the students regarding the Turkic World changed positively, their knowledge and levels of interest increased, Turkic Culture had expanded to a greater area than they thought and that they realized many misconceptions they had.

Farklılıklara Saygı Eğitim Programının Öğrencilerin Farklılıklara Saygı Düzeyine Etkisi 尊重差异培训计划对学生尊重差异水平的影响

In the present study is the impact of Respect of Diversities Educational Program (RDEP) prepared by using the 3th grade Social Studies respect of diversities objectives on the student’s respect of diversities level is assessed. The research was conducted on a total of 79 3th grade students including 39 students experimental group and 40 students control group in Abdurrahman Nermin Bilimli Primary School Province of Bağcılar, İstanbul. In the study pre-test post-test group quasi-experimental method was used. “Respect of Diversities Attitude Scale” developed by Ekmişoğlu (2007) was used to assess the level of student respect of diversity attitudes before and after the RDEP implementation. RDEP was implemented on the experimental group two lessons a week for 14 weeks by the researcher himself in the school the researcher works in 2013-2014 Educational Year Spring Semester. After the implementation of RDEP, the respect of diversities scale used as pre-test was applied again to evaluate the impact of program on experimental group and to assess the difference between two groups. Results of this study shows that the experimental group which taken the RDEP the level of respect of diversities more than the control group. The impact of RDEP on family, social structure, gender, disability and diverse background dimensions of program to experimental group and to control group Kalem Eğitim ve İnsan Bilimleri Dergisi 2018, 8(2), 387-417 389 individually. Program taken experimental group got higher points in all areas than both the pre-test and the control group. As seen from the results the positive impact of the RDEP on improving the level of student respect of diversity attitudes is obvious.
本研究是利用三年级社会学科的尊重多样性目标所编制的尊重多样性教育计划(RDEP)对学生尊重多样性水平的影响进行评估。本研究以Bağcılar, İstanbul省Abdurrahman Nermin Bilimli小学的79名三年级学生为研究对象,其中试验组39名,对照组40名。研究采用前测后测组准实验方法。使用Ekmişoğlu(2007)开发的“尊重多样性态度量表”来评估实施RDEP前后学生尊重多样性态度的水平。RDEP于2013-2014学年春季学期由研究者本人在其所在学校对实验组实施,每周两节课,为期14周。RDEP实施后,再次采用多样性量表作为前测,评估方案对实验组的影响,评估两组之间的差异。本研究结果表明,采取RDEP的实验组对多样性的尊重程度高于对照组。RDEP对实验组和对照组家庭、社会结构、性别、残疾和不同背景维度的影响[j] .
