Enhancing nano anti-bacterial treatment of cotton fabrics via uv irradiation 增强紫外线辐照对棉织物的纳米抗菌处理

: Different applications used nano materials such as Nano-Oxides or Nano-Salts i.e. silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs.) or zinc oxide Nano-particles (ZnO NPs.) to acquire antibacterial activity for cotton fabrics. In the present study chitosan treated cotton fabrics followed by nano treatment via Ag NPs. or ZnO NPs., or mixture of both nano-materials had been subjected to UV irradiation using medium pressure mercury lamp with a light intensity on the fabric of about 15mW/cm2 to produce an enhancement in the anti-bacterial activity against Gram +ve and Gram –ve bacteria i.e. St.coccusand E.coli. The produced yield was assured with FT-IR and scanning electron microscope. The best result for Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) obtained by using mixture of (Ag NPS (100ppb) + ZnO NPS (8% o.w.s) + UV) as well as for Gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus Aureus) the best result obtained by using mixture of (Ag NPS (100ppb) + ZnO NPS (8% o.w.s) + UV).

Effect of using high fiber plant wastes, by-products and composite flour on the quality of the resulted biscuits 高纤维植物废弃物、副产物及复合面粉对饼干品质的影响

: In this research, wheat flour 72% was partially replaced by oat flour, orange peel powder and red wheat pollard during making biscuit in order to raise the level of fibers in the produced biscuit.The percentage of replacement for such additives with 2, 4, 8, and 12% regarding to the wheat flour used in biscuit recipes.The study follows the changes which happened in the chemical components of biscuits, data indicated that a significant differences for all determinants of chemical composition between control biscuits in comparison with the oat biscuits, red wheat pollard biscuits and orange peel powder biscuits, except for the moisture content, which does not show significant differences (p<0.05) for it. The contents of ash, fat and crude fiber of biscuits were increased with adding the red wheat pollard, also the whole oat flour led to an increase in protein content in biscuit samples. Organoleptic evaluation was also followed to the quality attributes of biscuit. Results showed that there were significant differences (p<0.05) between all biscuits treatments of the evaluated characteristics, except the piece size, uniformity and taste. The red wheat pollard biscuits had the highest score in the sensory evaluation, followed by oat flour biscuits, while orange peel powder biscuits recorded the lowest values.The acid value of biscuits was also determined and registered after a storage period up to 6 months at room temperature of 25 ±2℃ . Data mentioned that the acid value increased with increasing the addition rate of additives and with increased storage period up to 6 months.

Assessing precision agriculture applicability in agriculture sector in Egypt 评估精准农业在埃及农业部门的适用性

: Precision Agriculture is a technological trend that has been introduced to serve agricultural sector in many countries. There are many solutions and applications of precision agriculture that depend on use of information technology as well as integration between sensors and systems. The PA solutions include use of remote sensing technologies, vision sensors, robots, Internet of Things (IOT), Machine Learning (ML), blockchain, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This paper focused on assessing precision agriculture applicability in the agriculture sector in Egypt and challenges affecting the diffusion of these technologies with proposals of overcoming these challenges. The research objective was achieved through conduction of an online survey and a focus group discussion session. Through an online survey, 31 respondents were reached and provided their opinions on the current situation. This has been followed by a focus group discussion session that was attended by 39 experts in the field of agriculture and technology. Respondents to this research are agricultural and technological experts in the field of agriculture. Conducted focus group discussion session helped in identification of the current applications of PA, challenges affecting its implementations and ways to improve its applicability. Paper addressed some needs and appropriate technologies that might be adopted by agribusiness in Egypt. In addition, it is highlighted some main recommendations that are gathered from subject matter experts in both technological and agricultural fields. Finally, this research emphasized that the precision agriculture technologies can be implemented in Egypt and support in overcoming some of the challenges affecting the development of the agriculture sector.

TAXONOMIC REVISIONAND ANATOMICAL STUDIES OF THE GENUS AEGILOPS L. (POACEAE) WITH SECTIONAL CONFIRMATION 标题龙葵属(龙葵科)的分类修订及解剖学研究

: Aegilops L. is a large genus of the tribe Triticeae , allied to the family Poaceae . It spreads in almost all temperate regions, mainly in the Mediterranean basin, Southwest and Central Asia. The goal of this study was to use morphometric and anatomical methodologies to reappraise the taxonomy of the genus Aegilops in Egypt. Clustering was applied to determine the relationship between seven studied species based on sectional delimitation. Results generated from principal component analysis (PCA) and correlation revealed the significance of morphometric and anatomical descriptors traits in the characterization and identification of Aegilops species. Heatmap analyses of combining morphological and anatomical data confirmed the sectional classification of the seven species.

Optimization of conditions for L- asparaginase production by certain bacterial strains isolated from soil at Fayoum Governorate 法尤姆省土壤分离菌株产L-天冬酰胺酶条件的优化

: The cultures namely Brevundimonas olei No.(15),Bacillus subtilis No.(28) and Bacillus cereus No.(32) which were found to be the most producing of L-aspaginase producing isolates from soil at Fayoum Governorate, has been used in this investigation. Results showed that, the highest enzyme activity was obtained at pH 8.0 for Brevundimonas olei No.15 at incubation temperature 30 0 C. Low level of L- asparaginase production by BacillussubtilisNo.28 occur at pH 7.0 at incubation temperature 30 0 C, reached its maximum level at pH 9.0 at incubation temperature 40 0 C. Also, the effects of different carbon sources on enzyme production were studied i.e. dextrose, sucrose, Fructose, Lactose and Mannitol at the concentration of (0.5%) at various incubation period 24, 48 and 72 hrs. Results that, indicated that, BrevundimonasoleiNo.15 gave the highest enzyme yield being (444.8 IU/ml.) after 24 hrs. fermentation period using mannitol as a sole carbon source followed by dextrose (391.0 IU/ml.), lactose (390.0 IU/ml.) , sucrose (386.2 IU/ml.) and fructose (379.3 IU/ml.) respectively. Orange and potato peels were examined as a carbon source for production of L-asparaginase. Therefore, orange or potato peels were added to the modified M9 broth medium and substituted glucose. Generally results showed that, potato peels gave the highest L-asparaginase yield than orange peels for all investigated bacterial strains.

Orange and potato peels were examined as a carbon source for production of L-asparaginase. Therefore, orange or potato peels were added to the modified M9 broth medium and substituted glucose. Pathological survey at different Egyptian local markets on green and blue moulds of lime and lemon fruits and its management using some mineral salts and organic acids 在不同的埃及当地市场对青柠和柠檬水果的绿色和蓝色霉菌的病理调查及其使用一些矿物盐和有机酸的管理

: Survey of decayed lime and lemon fruits of local markets at Giza, Cairo and Fayoum Governorates, Egypt during 2018 and 2019 summer seasons was conducted. Several postharvest diseases was observed i.e., green mold, blue mold and Physical damage are the common on fruits. Results showed that fruit decay incidence in lime and lemon fruits was higher in Cairo Governorate whereas Fayoum Governorate was the lowest one. Routine isolation of rotten samples of lime and lemon fruits yielded mainly three genera of fungi i.e., Penicilliumdigitatum,Penicilliumitalicumand Aspergillusspp. Pathogenicity test indicated that P.italicum (No.7) was the most pathogenic fungi caused postharvest diseases on fruits followed by P. digitatum (No.6). The effect of two mineral salts; potassium sorbet and potassium silicate and the two organic acids; salicylic and β-amino–butyric acids against P. digitatum and P.italicumwas evaluated for their inhibitory effect invitroand invivo under storage conditions. Under laboratory conditions, complete inhibition of mycelial growth of P. digitatumand P.italicumwas obtained with potassium silicate, potassium sorbet (4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 g/L), as well as salicylic acid and β-amino –butyric acid (1, 1.5 and 2.0 g/L). In vivo experiments, in 2018 and 2019 seasons, postharvest-treated fruits by different organic acids at full at a concentration of 4g/L and mineral salts at full at a concentration of 1g/L (w/v) showed various levels of either protective or curative effect for coated lime and lemon fruits against mould infection whatever the time of their artificial inoculation under storage conditions.All treated fruits showed reduction in green and blue mould diseases when compared with untreated fruits. Also, potassium silicate was the most effective treatment among the tested mineral salts, reducing the disease incidence and severity on lemons and lime fruits at (20±1°C) followed by Potassium sorbate. Salicylic acid was the most effective treatment in reduction ratio in disease incidence and disease severity. Also, the effect of potassium sorbet and potassium silicate as well as salicylic acid and β-amino–butyric on quality characteristics (total soluble solids (TSS %) and total phenolic substances) in lime and lemon fruits was studied. Furthermore, lime and lemon fruits stored and treated with some mineral salts and organic acids as individual treatments increased the activity of peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase and chitinase and achieved the higher content of total soluble solids % (TSS) and total phenolic compounds (Tph) activity % under artificial infection with P.digitatum and P.italicumstored at 20±1°C. The present findings demonstrate that potassium sorbet, potassium silicate, salicylic acid and β-amino–butyric have potential as environmentally friendly products, nontoxic postharvest fungicides against sour rot, green and blue mould incidence of stored lime and lemon fruits and could be suggested for commercial use in packing-houses in
