Cholesterol is a heterogeneous compound in its chemical composition. It is very important both on a medical and nutritional health level. Low-density lipoprotein (L.D.L) poses some danger to human life and deserves more research on it to clarify the idea of its specific or safe behavior in human life. 68 of 162 isolates were lead to the degrade of cholesterol present in the cholesterol-agar medium of microbial Basel medium. The samples were collected from 17 sources, the most promising one was from local Rayeb followed by yoghurt and cow ghee. Lactobacillus sp. was one of the most effective in degrading cholesterol. The optimal environmental conditions for cholesterol degradation were generally found at pH 7, temperature 37, cholesterol concentration 1.5 g/L and incubation period 48 hours.

With increasing water scarcity, the determination of reference evapotranspiration ETo and crop coefficient (Kc) is a critical factor in determining the crop water demand ETc. Therefore, the current investigation aimed to evaluate and compare the estimated sugar beet crop evapotranspiration (ETc) values computed by different empirical methods (e.g. Hargreaves, Penmen-Monteith and Class-A pan) with the measured actual sugar beet evapotranspiration (ETa). To determine the ETa for sugar beet crop field experiment was conducted during two growing seasons (2019/2020 and 2020/2021) in Demo farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Fayoum University, Egypt. Sugar beet seeds (Beta vulgaris L., Baraca) was planted in 1st October and harvested in April during two successive winter seasons. Irrigation water was applied when the soil moisture content was depleted by 30% of available water. All the obtained results were statistically analyzed to evaluate the best method for estimating the reference evapotranspiration and suitable for optimizing the irrigation management practices for sugar beet plants grown under arid and semi-arid conditions. The obtained results concluded that among the used methods (Hargreaves, Penmen-Monteith and Class A pan) for estimating sugar beet crop evapotranspiration (ETc) in comparison with ETa measured values, the Penmen-Monteith performed well in describing the ETc and Kc for sugar beet plants grown in Fayoum Governorate, Egypt.

The present study was conducted to evaluate the population densities of the mites associated with tomato hybrids and its relation with the prevailing temperature at Demo district, Fayoum Governorate, Egypt during two summer growing seasons (2017& 2018). Four mite species were found, two species were considered as phytophagous mites Tetranychus urticae Koch and Aculops lycopersici Massee, the 3 rd as heterogeneous Tydeus californicus Banks and the 4 th as predacious mite Amblyseius cydnodactylon Shehata & Zaher. Population densities were evaluated on three tomato hybrids, namely, Supper-gekal, 09 and El-basha. T. urticae only was collected during 2017 season and showed its peaks in the second week of June, first week of June, third week of May for super-Jekal, 09 and El-basha, respectively, while during 2018 season , A. lycopersici , T. californicus and A. cydnodactylon were collected , A. lycopersici peaked once during the season in first, fourth weeks of August and first week of September for super-Jekal, 09 and El-basha, respectively. Biological aspects of A. lycopersici on tomato hybrid (010) at 20°C and 60% R.H were studied. The periods of protolarvae and duetolarvae were recorded (1.42 and 2.5 days) and (1.28 and 2.14 days) for females and males, respectively. Longevity of females was averaged 4.78 days. The fecundity was recorded 1.6 eggs/female with 93% egg hatchability and the egg incubation period was 1.28 days.
