The present study is considered with teaching German as a foreign language and its vocabulary in the Czech Republic. The author gives its present standing in elementary schools. Using many teachers' and partially also her own experience she is exploring the teaching of basic vocabulary. She brings the characteristics of methods and some suggestions concerning the selection of new words when teaching beginners, twelve-year old pupils, in school or in private tutorials. Vocabulary teaching as well as learning strategies are explained, some of them criticized, many of them recommended.

This research paper presents effects of using a low cost interactive board based Wiimote and infrared technology developed by the Faculty of Engineering, Mahasarakham University for engineering learning classes. The developed interactive board was tested by 185 engineering students from 8 majors. The experimental results showed that using the proposed board could significantly increase intension of students for the learning by 86.6%. There was slightly different between male students and female students regarding skills required for using the board (87.2% and 85.5% respectively). Using the board could better attract students from mechanical, electrical and mechanical engineering for the learning (90.5–92.0%) than students from civil, environmental, manufacturing, biological and general engineering (80.0–88.5%). The older students (21–25 years old) trended to play more attention on the teaching than younger students (17–20 years old) when using the board for the study classes by the attention level of 88.8% compared to 85.6%. However, all the students strongly agreed that using the board affected their satisfaction for the teaching classes with 90.4%.

This study aims to investigate the impact of investor protection on external financing. In developing economies like Pakistan, companies having foreign ownership have more access towards external finance as compared to companies having domestic ownership. Data extracted from 70 non-financial sector companies for the period 2003–2013, was analyzed by using fixed effect model. The findings showed that investor protection has significant impact on external financing, which means companies having strong investor protection are more inclined towards investor protection. Therefore, we can say that good policies and proper rules and regulation may attract the foreign investors.

Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve has been employed in classification problems along with the area under the curve (AUC) as the performance indicator of classifiers. Both parametric and non-parametric methods have been widely used to estimate the ROC curve as well as the AUC. In this study, a smoothing spline is proposed in order to provide an alternative of the ROC curve and AUC estimate. A logistic regression is selected as a base classifier for simulation cases of Gaussian and mixture of Gaussian data. The smoothing spline, bi-normal model and empirical method are compared in terms of root mean square error (RMSE) from the true ROC curve and the bias from the true AUC. The results indicate that the ROC curve and its AUC obtained from smoothing spline can provide a trade-off between the parametric bi-normal model and non-parametric empirical method, with 1.4% of bias and 7.75 of RMSE, on average for a dichotomous classification.

Data centers are highly complex things, and complex things can quickly become unmanageable subject to time, cost, and quality or performance called iron triangle. The traditional project management (TPM) is based on a predictable, fixed, relatively simple, and certain model. It is dissociated from change in the IT environment and business needs of project life cycle (PLC). Scrum is the leading agile development methodology, used wildly with adaptive change requirements and complex systems. The Scrum methodology proposes to transform the way project team to tackle complex and dynamic projects, bringing the Scrum framework and agile approach beyond data center project management (DCPM) to the real world of project deployment.

An image compression is necessary for the image processing applications such as data storing, image classification, image recognition etc. Then, several research articles have been proposed to reserve for these topics. However, the image compression with auto encoder has been found for a small number of the improvements. Therefore, this paper presents a detailed study to demonstrate the image compression algorithm using the deep neural network (DNN). The proposed algorithm consists of 1) compressing image with auto encoder, and 2) decoding image. The proposed compressing image with auto encoder algorithm uses non-recurrent three-layer neural networks (NRTNNs) which use an extended Kalman filter (EKF) to update the weights of the networks. To evaluate the proposed algorithm performances, the Matlab program is used for implementations of the overall testing algorithm. From our simulation results, it shows that the proposed image compression algorithm is able to reduce the image dimensionality and is able to recall the compressed image with low loss.

Since computers are used in industry the idea of Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) is a never-ending discussion. However, the concepts, techniques, and products are complex and companies failed to implement an Enterprise Information Management System that provides real-time and consistent data. This contribution presents an approach for data management in the new era of IoT, cloud, and Industry 4.0. This so-called Cloud Storage Hub (CSH) integrates different data sources, e.g. IoT devices, RDBMS, XML, cloud apps, through a mapping and rule system, so that a consolidated and consistent view on enterprise data is possible enabling management apps, e.g. for Analytics / BI, to access this data easily and convenient through a single API.

This paper presents the application program of fingerprint detection using wavelet transform for authentication. Fingerprints are obtained from the site of crime, old documents and excavated things. This paper proposes a fingerprint recognition technique based on wavelet-based texture pattern recognition method. By collecting incomplete fingerprints of 2 people with 6 images each. The original seven of uncompleted fingerprint images were undetected and only one was detected. After enhancing image quality using wavelet transform method, it was found that those of seven images were completed. The comparison method was a matching technique. This work focuses on the ability of the program and knowledge of image processing by studying algorithms of image processing. In design algorithm process, different technique enhancements were employed as well as the study of different of filters and algorithms based on existing research results from literature.

The paper gives some basic view on use of multimedia when teaching foreign language. The concept of multimedia in connection with education process involves a few technical didactical instruments, which during the school supplies development appeared as a part of educational process. In classical education the most used sense in absorbing information is hearing. With the use of multimedia is the most used sense vision. Visual perception enables faster achieving not only partial learning success, but as well as reducing the overall time of learning process.

The invention of Internet has made the day-to-day life facile and with less complications. A new revolution of Internet is the Internet of Things where various devices and systems are connected to leverage data anywhere, anytime. IOT is expected to rapidly spread over the imminent years. A new dimension of services will be unleashed due to this confluence and motivation thereby improving the Quality of livelihood. Though IOT has paved its way through all other fields of application; textile industry has not much of association with the IOT. It is high time that IOT is taken to the textile industry. The proposed system is called the ‘Interactive clothes’ that makes use of NFC and IOT. A NFC tag is embedded within the clothes that consists of a unique identity. A mobile application is developed that when scans the NFC tag present in the cloth links to a database stored in cloud. It provides a digital environment for both manufacturers and end users. For manufacturers, the system has the potential to identify cheap replicas, keep track on the loyal customers, minimise wastage of resources used for price tags and to track the goods using the cloud database. As for end users, the benefits are immense. The mobile application provides an interactive interface where users can get advice on matching the interactive cloth with other outfits, dressing according to the season, facilitating dry cleaning process, deciding whether it suits our skin tone, also helps us keep track of the frequency of use.
