Effects of Liupao Tea Ingredients on Intestinal Microflora in Collagen Induced Arthritis DBA/1 Mice 六保茶成分对胶原诱导关节炎DBA/1小鼠肠道菌群的影响

To investigate the effect of ingredients from Liupao tea on the gut microbiota structure of collagen induced arthritis models, rheumatoid arthritis model was established by injecting bovine type II collagen into the tail of DBA/1 mice, and treated with Liupao tea extracts and gallic acid by gavage. Both Liupao tea and gallic acid can ameliorate intestinal microbiota disorder. Liupao tea increases the abundance of Alloprevotella, Muribaculaceae, and Alistipes in the intestine of a mouse model, while reducing the abundance of Colidextribacter, Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group, Lachnoclo-stridium, and Lactobacillus, with gallic acid increasing the abundance of Muribaculaceae, Clostri-dia_UCG-014 and Alloprevotella, reducing the abundance of Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group, Lachnospiraceae_UCG-006and Lachnoclostridium. Both of Liupao tea and gallic acid can certainly correct intestinal microbiota disorders. The ingredients of Liupao tea and gallic acid can significantly improve the structure of intestinal microbiota in mice with rheumatoid arthritis.

Determination of Chloramphenicol, Florfenicol and Pentachlorophenol in Animal Food by Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry 液相色谱串联质谱法测定动物性食品中氯霉素、氟苯尼考和五氯酚

A method for the determination of chloramphenicol, florfenicol and pentachlorophenol in animal food was developed by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry; under the condition of chromatography and mass spectrometry, the three targets were analyzed and quantified in the negative ion mode of MRM. Through the results and discussion, the three targets had good linearity and good correlation coefficient in their respective concentration range in different substrates, the average recoveries ranged from 64.0% to 105.8%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 0.96% to 7.10; the detection limit was 0.3~3 μg/kg , and the limit of quantification was 1 ~10 μg/kg. The method is simple, rapid and reliable. It is very suitable for rapid screening and quantitative determination of large quantities of samples.

Impact of Drama about Sugar Reduction on the Nutritional Attitude of School Children 减糖戏剧对学童营养态度的影响

The purposes of the study were to explore the impact of sugar reduction drama on children’s nutritional behavior. Using a pre-test and post-test design, the children in the second to third grades of elementary school were given self-made questionnaires before, one month and six months after the intervention to evaluate the nutritional knowledge and food selection skills. The sample number of children was 1075, and the average recovery rate of valid questionnaires was 58%. We found that children’s craving for sweets or sugary drinks was motivated by insufficient meals and peer influence. There were significant differences on the benefits of reducing sugar intake, the advantages of drinking water and the correct sugar reduction skills in tested students, and the significant differences persisted to six months after the intervention. There was a significant increase in the percentage of children who agreed that milk and nuts should be supplemented daily. After one month and six months of drama intervention, there was a significant difference in the food cognition in children of reducing daily intake of sugary black tea, flavored fruit juice, and beef jerky. Drama intervention significantly improved the total score of children’s self-efficacy in healthy behaviors. For example, it is very easy for me not eating sweets, not drinking sugary drinks, and eating more healthy food every day. The results of study speculate that children’s eating behaviors towards sugar reduction and avoidance of processed foods are in the contemplation stage of the trans theoretical model. Therefore, the future goal of nutrition education is to enhance school children’s awareness of the impact of reducing sugar and processed food intake on the body, and to promote children’s willingness to change behavior.

Analysis of Heavy Metal Content in Four Kinds of Edible Seafood from Pujun Market in Foshan City 佛山市浦君市场4种食用海鲜重金属含量分析

Objective: To analyze and evaluate the heavy metal content of edible seafood products in Pujun Market in Foshan city. Methods: 4 common seafood products ( Metapenaeus ensis , Mantis shrimp , Ruditapes philippinarum , and Monetaria moneta (Linnaeus)) were selected from Pujun Market in Foshan city. The amounts of heavy metals lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), and total arsenic (As) were determined by ICP-MS method. The test results were evaluated according to the national standard “National Standard for Food Safety-Limits of Contaminant in Food” (GB2762-2022). Results: The heavy metal content of 4 seafood samples met the limit of national standard GB2762-2022. Con-clusion: No heavy metal pollution was found in the seafood products sold in Foshan Pujun Market.

A Review of the Scientific Basis for Optional Ingredients in Infant Formula 婴儿配方奶粉中可选成分的科学依据综述

In this review, the nutritional functions and health effects of several optional ingredients in infant and follow-up formulas were summarized. Different optional ingredients provide different nutritional values, including inositol, taurine, 1,3-dioleic acid-2-palmitic acid triglyceride, docosahex-aenoic acid, arachidonic acid, galacto-oligosaccharides, fructo-oligosaccharides, L-carnitine, lutein, nucleotides and lactoferrin. These nutrients not only promote the physical development of the infants, but also effectively reduce the risk of illness in infants. The importance of existing optional ingredients is summarized and discussed in order to provide a theoretical basis for more scientific design of infant and follow-up formulas.

Comparative Study on Three Reagents for Rapid Biochemical Identification of Enterobacter sakazakii 阪崎肠杆菌快速生化鉴定试剂的比较研究

Objective: To compare the reliability of three biochemical identification reagents for Enterobacter sakazakii . Method: Based on the traditional biochemical identification tube in our laboratory, a dry state biochemical identification strip was prepared by referring to the biochemical reaction in GB 4789.40-2016. Using the traditional biochemical tube (JDG) as a reference, 50 strains of E. sa-kazakii , their close source bacteria, and isolated strains were tested to compare the identification effects of our laboratory’s self-made HKEasyID E . sakazakii biochemical identification strip (HKEa-syID), A company’s E . sakazakii biochemical identification strip (KitA), and B company’s E . sakaza-kii biochemical identification strip (KitB). Result: The identification results of 50 test strains showed that the average coincidence rates of HKEasyID, KitA and KitB with JDG traditional liquid identification kit were 98.67%, 88.44%, and 90.22%, respectively. HKEasyID had a higher coincidence rate with JDG compared to KitA and KitB; the average compliance rates of the four identification kits, HKHKEasyID, KitA, KitB, and JDG, compared to the standard requirements, were 97.11%, 87.11%, 89.11%, and 97.33%, respectively. HKEasyID and JDG were equivalent, higher than KitA and KitB. Conclusion: The HKEasyID identification strip is superior in operability and compliance to the identification strips of Company A and Company B, and is similar in reliability to traditional biochemical tubes. It can be used as a conventional biochemical identification reagent.

Effect of High Fat Diet on Intestinal Gene Expression in Hamster 高脂肪日粮对仓鼠肠道基因表达的影响

Next-generation sequencing and big data analysis were used to investigate the high-fat diet on gene expression level of intestinal tissues in hamster. Sixteen hamsters were assigned to the con-trol group and the high-fat group, respectively. At week 12, the high-fat group was switched from high-fat to the control diet. At weeks 4, 8, 12, and 20, two hamsters from each group were sacrificed for analysis. The results showed that 51~328 genes exhibited more than a twofold change in expression level in high-fat diet group at week 4, 8, 12. Subsequently, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) was used to analyze the relative gene expression levels. We found that significantly increased expression levels of genes associated with cell apoptosis, oxidative stress, inflammation, and cell proliferation compared to the control group. At week 20, the high-fat group still exhibited gene expressions related to lipid biosynthesis, DNA methylation, and transcriptional repression signaling, but concurrently, several regulatory mechanisms for damage repair were activated in intestinal epithelial cells, including Glutathione-mediated detoxification and nucleotide excision repair. This study demonstrated that the gene expressions at stopping the intake of high fat diet were similar to those of long-term high-fat feeding, but it was accompanied with upregulation of repair genes.
