In this work, application of the Golden Section Search Method (GSSM) is illustrated to inversely retrieve the controlling parameter meeting a desired performance requirement in an induced draft cooling tower. Merkel number is an important performance parameter because it involves various parameters such as global heat and mass transfer coefficient, water flow rate, dimensions (interfacial area per unit volume) and range within itself. At first, experiments have been performed to get accurate correlations for Merkel number against the controlling parameter that is required to be estimated, which is the air mass flow rate. Then, an inverse optimization technique involving GSSM has been used to estimate the required air flow rate in order to satisfy a given performance parameter. It is found from the present study that the controlling parameter estimated using GSSM yields a very good reconstruction of the Merkel number.

The 7-DOF redundant manipulator in greatly improves the obstacle/singularity avoidance capability and operational flexibility. Meanwhile, its inverse kinematics problem would be much difficult since it has an infinite number of solutions. This paper uses a new numerical sequence processing method with a closed-loop framework to solve the inverse kinematics of the 7-DOF redundant manipulator. Simulations show that this method has high commonality, no special structure of robot required, and also has improved computational efficiency and reliability.

According to loading speed, high precision and strong stability, we design the force servo controller based on STM32 processor. During the motion process, the force servo controller can timely and accurately eliminate the excess torque, using CAN bus communication for data exchange with the host computer, precisely measuring the force in real time by the force sensor and calculating model force in real time by location feedback. Meanwhile, to solve the problem of load-induced movement caused by the mechanical structure of the control loading system, we designed a kind of decoupling control algorithm to eliminate induced movement. Experimental results show that the tracking accuracy of the system error is less than 15%, the step characteristics of the system response time less than 0.1s, and the feel of pilots for induce motion in the control loading system meet the design requirements.

It is important to research the work stress of the roller, which is the key part of mooring winch. This paper use the three-dimensional CAD software Pro-E to build a three-dimensional solid model of the roller, and analyse the force of the roller under the action of single layer cable. Then research the forces of roller and the side panels of the roller under the multi-layer cable and caculate the stress by the finite element method. Finally, replace the roller by a flexible body and research the change law of the drum during the cable winding process based on the theory of Rigid-Flexible coupling.

Aimed at inventory allocation needs with timeliness and accuracy of distributed spare parts warehouses, a collaborative allocation model for spare parts is proposed. Based on an analysis of the characteristics and defects of the genetic algorithm, a distributed inventory allocation strategy based on the parallel genetic algorithm is proposed, and a coarse parallel genetic algorithm within the framework of MapReduce is realized. The proposed strategy and algorithm together reduce the heavy computation burden during the process of problem-solving which is based on the genetic algorithm. Effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified based on the spare parts inventory data of providers on the automobile industry chain.

With differing estimates of the remaining non-renewable energy reserves around the world, but it is clear that the era of fossil fuel use will be expired. Growing international trends towards the substitution of petroleum energy sources with renewable and alternative energy sources is better for the environment. The solar energy is one of the most promising renewable energy. Different types of lamps are utilized for lighting as, Halogen Sodium (400W) and Mercury vapor (250W). Recently, there is a move toward replacing these lamps by the Compact Fluoresce Lamp (CFL) (less than 100 W). The technological advances made in the photovoltaic industry have led to a vast exploration of self-sustaining systems. As the consumer demand for electricity rises from increasing population and development of existing technologies, new practices in system designs are required to relieve the impact on the electrical grid. So, this paper will present design and implementation a stand-alone photovoltaic lighting system. This system based on solar energy. This system is to get electricity from solar energy. This system will be used to highway and car parking lighting. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is consided in this paper in photovoltaic (PV) systems because they increase the efficiency of the solar photovoltaic system by increasing the power output. Design and implementation the control circuit for a stand-alone photovoltaic lighting system will be given. The sizing of the PV system was done by using the HOMER program. The experimental results verify the feasibility of this design.

The traditional three-phase PWM rectifier at the relatively high switch frequency can obtain good dynamic performance, such as good dynamics of DC bus voltage under disturbance, using the control strategy of load current feed-forward. However, the traditional form of load current feed-forward controller should be modified when switching frequency is relatively low, because complex state variables controller take place the PI controller in this circumstance. To deal with this problem, this paper, first, use mathematical modeling to describe PWM rectifier, and then analyze the reasons of utilizing complex state variables current controller at low switching frequency instead of PI controller. On this basis, a novel scheme is proposed to inhibit DC bus voltage disturbance for PWM rectifier.

The tuning and optimization of Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) parameters have always been a complicated but important issue in the field of automatic control. The recent optimization design methods are frequently difficult to consider the system requirements for speed, consistency and robustness. In this paper, methods of PID parameters using population-based heuristic optimization are presented. Some quantitative and qualitative comparisons are given together with their computational time. Simulations with Matlab have showed that Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) are better based on the performance index than that of the traditional Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) method, and are methods which have superior practical value of the PID parameter tuning and optimization.

Aiming at DNA encoding sequences design, a micro-genetic algorithm (MGA) is proposed by introducing a sharing function based on similarity and H-measure of DNA sequences. In the algorithm, six design criteria are adopted and four genetic operators are applied. Compared with the previous results, the algorithm can get better DNA sequences and improve the computational efficiency.
