Investigation of engine performance and emission parameters of a diesel engine fueled with Foeniculum vulgare oil biodiesel – ammonia mixtures 以小茴香油、生物柴油和氨混合燃料为燃料的柴油机性能和排放参数研究

Past studies revealed that Foeniculum vulgare oil biodiesel (FVB) can be used as a good candidate for diesel fuels. Ammonia (NH3) as a fuel additive can be mixed with other fuels to eliminate some disadvantages of the fuels in engine performance and emission. In view of such information, this study aims to investigate the effects of FVB with NH3 additive on engine performance and emission parameters in Diesel-RK Programme. In this study, FVB was mixed with NH3 additive in different proportions (FVB100, FVB95A5, FVB90A10, FVB85A15 and FVB80A20). The exhaust emissions (Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), Particulate Matter (PM) and Smoke Opacity) and engine performance (Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC), Power, Torque and Volumetric Efficiency) parameters were evaluated according to the combustion simulations in different RPM values. As a result of this study, some obtained results were revealed that the NH3 additive in FVB significantly decreased the NOx parameter. However, when the NH3 content in FVB was increased, PM and smoke opacity parameters increased. For the engine performance parameters, the NH3 additive in FVB adversely affected the engine power and torque parameters. On the other hand, specific fuel consumption and volumetric efficiency showed an increment trend as the NH3 content in FVB was increased.

Communication Challenges for Electric Power Transmission Systems 电力传输系统的通信挑战

Uninterrupted electric power supply and transmission is a part of critical infrastructure for any nation’s security, economy and healthcare systems. Essential requirements for operating and managing an industrial control system is the secure and instant data transfer between control centers and generation stations or substations. This paper review the general Energy Management System architecture implemented for the Hellenic Power Transmission System. It gives a possible direction to best suited SCADA system network communication by emphasizing on the security. A brief study of the communication protocols is also presented. This work focuses on the key role of telecommunication provision for critical distributed control infrastructures. Based on the relative analysis presented in this paper directions towards a secure critical infrastructures network communications are provided. Subject Classification Numbers: 68M01, 68M10, 94A05.

Calculation of heat transfer from the bottom of a coach to the passenger compartment 客车底部到客舱的热传递计算

© This article is distributed by Turk Journal Park System under the CC 4.0 terms and conditions. In the current study, amount of heat transfer to the passenger compartment through the floor, which is one of the cooling load components of the vehicle, under normal working conditions were examined. For detailed investigations, floor of the passenger compartment was sub-divided into 11 regions by considering the material properties and the thermal condition under the region. By referencing the test results and making some assumptions, mean temperatures of the regions under the floor were determined. And then the heat transfer from the bottom of the vehicle to the passenger compartment was calculated. At the end of study, mean temperatures, heat transfers and heat fluxes of the regions were examined and some improvement modifications advised for heat transfer and economy points of views.
