Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular disease. This is an X-linked recessive disease caused by mutations in the dystrophin protein gene located on the short arm of the X chromosome, in the Xp21 region. It causes progressive muscle weakness due to wasting of muscle fibers. It causes loss of ability to stand, walk, and move before age 10; most patients die in their 20s. Since there is no specific treatment in any medical system and the prognosis of the disease is uncertain, if we start treatment at an early stage, children with DMD can walk, it can slow or stop progressive muscle degeneration. DMD cannot be directly related to a single disease in Ayurveda. Most major neuromuscular disorders are determined by Vata dosha. In Ayurveda, this pathogenesis can be clearly understood by the concept of Adibala Pravrutta Vyadhi (genetic disease). Here the pathogenesis is due to Beeja Bhagavayava Dusti (partial chromosomal defect) leading to Mamsa Vata Dushti.

Heavy drinkers who abruptly cut back on their alcohol intake or give it up entirely risk experiencing alcohol withdrawal. The warning signs and symptoms include agitation, anxiety, irritability, and mild to moderate tremors. Seizure, hallucinations, delirium tremens are the most severe withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms arise from abnormalities in brain chemistry brought on by alcohol, which leads to an excess of neuronal activity when the alcohol is stopped. Ayurveda is a holistic approach which not only takes body into consideration but also mental status. Madatyaya is a wide term explained in our classics, while explaining Madya, Acharaya told that it has properties opposite to that of Ojus, so these substances causing depletion to our body resources can be correlated to Madatyaya. So it’s a case report on alcohol withdrawal symptoms and its effective management using Ayurvedic treatment modalities.

Kadamb an indigenous plant described in classical texts of Ayurved has a wide range of therapeutic potential. In Charak Samhita, it has been classified in the group of drugs indicated in the management of pain (Vednasthapan Mahakashya). Among various indications, it has been reported to be used in the treatment of vitiated semen, as an astringent in healing of fractured wounds, hemorrhagic conditions, dyslipidaemia, diseases of female genital tract, as complexion promoting and alexipharmic. In classical texts, at least four varieties of Kadamb have been described. There has always been some controversy regarding botanical identity of different varieties of Kadamb described in classical texts. Present paper is a serious attempt towards establishment of botanical identities of different types of Kadamb described in classical text of Ayurved on the basis of exploration of literature substantiated by observations of field survey.

Insomnia is characterized by inability to sleep or lack of sleep. Severe clinical insomnia is a highly prevalent health concern faced by a wide majority of people across the globe due to the rise in stressful external environments. Often such cases require long term use of sedative hypnotics or tranquilizers which are habit forming. Ayurveda identifies insomnia as Nidranasa and is a disease which is caused predominantly by Vata Pitta increase and a dip in Kapha levels. Ayurvedic treatment protocol involves internal medication and topical procedures like Shirodhara and Abhyanga. This case report is intended to throw light to a positive outcome of Ayurvedic treatment protocol in severe clinical insomnia. A 34-year-old male presented with symptoms of severe clinical insomnia assessed by Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) associated with obesity and had a history of consuming hypnotics. The treatment protocol included Dhanyamladhara, Udvartana, Takradhara, Abhyanga and Shirodhara along with disease specific internal medicines. The ISI score before treatment of 26 came down to 1 after treatment and was maintained during 3 months follow up. This displays the complete remission of the disease without the use of habit-forming internal medication.

The World Health Organization defines infertility as a disorder of the male or female reproductive system characterized by the inability to conceive after 12 months or more of consistent unprotected sexual activity. Secondary infertile if they have successfully became pregnant at least once in the past. 30-40% of infertility is caused by ovulatory disruption. PCOS is characterized by oligo/anovulation, excess androgen-related symptoms, and numerous ovarian cysts. Infertility correlates with Vandhyatha in Ayurveda. Acharya Harita described that failure to achieve a Praja known as Vandhayatwa. Praja is achieve by Garbha and to achieve Garbha purity of many component (Ritu, Kshetra, Ambu, Beeja) is necessary. Regarding this case, Ritu is disturbed in form of Artavkshaya, managed through principles like use of Agneya dravya, Agni Deepana, Vata Shamana and Piita Vardhna. Case presentation: A female patient, 25 years old, visited Prasuti Tantra and Stri- Roga OPD of National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, on 28 august 2023 with secondary infertility associated with delayed and scanty menses for 3 years. Methodology: Detailed history with all clinical, physical examination and laboratory investigations were carried out which were normal. Ultrasonography reveals bilateral PCOD. So the treatment was planned accordingly. Patient was treated with Shatapushpa churna in 2 consecutive cycles. Result: Patient got her menstruation after one month of drug intake with improvement in menstrual pattern. She continued to take drug during the second month and missed her period consequently after that.UPT was done and was found positive

Shalakya tantra is the branch of Ayurveda which deals with Urdhwajatrugata rogas i.e., diseases occurring in supraclavicular region. Acharyas have mentioned various Mukharogas (diseases pertaining to oral cavity) which are further subdivided into various categories. Acharya Sushruta has mentioned five Jihwagata rogas (diseases of tongue) and their management. Upajihwika which is caused by vitiation of Kapha and Rakta, is the Jihwagraroopa shwathu cystic swelling under the ventral aspect of tongue. In modern, it can be correlated with Ranula which is a translucent swelling in the floor of the mouth formed due to sublingual gland trauma or obstruction of the ducts. It further leads to extravasation and accumulation of saliva in the surrounding tissue thus forming a cyst. Case and Intervention- A 49-year-old male patient presented to ENT OPD of Patanjali Ayurveda Hospital with swelling in left submandibular region for 2 months. There was no difficulty in mastication and swallowing with no history of trauma. The patient was diagnosed with plunging Ranula sized 4x3 cm based on USG findings. He underwent three months and 10 days course of Ayurvedic regime and two follow ups showing reduction in size of the cystic swelling. Conclusion: Several surgical techniques have been introduced to treat Ranula ranging from marsupialization, excision of Ranula, excision of sublingual glands, sclerotherapy with varying success and recurrence rate. Ayurvedic protocol aimed at holistic approach by pacifying the vitiated Doshas and showing marked regression in the cystic growth without making the patient undergo the pain and high cost and adverse effect as that of a surgical procedure.

Menopause is referred to as Rajakshaya in Ayurveda, which is the body's transition from a Pitta- to a Vata-dominant condition. It comes under Swabhavika vyadhi and occurs in Jara pakwa sareera, which causes Dhatus to gradually deteriorate. Treatment of perimenopausal symptoms may benefit from medications with Rasayana, Medhya, Balya, Dahasamana, Vayasthapaka, and Rasarakthaprasadaka characteristics. A 44-year-old woman who sought treatment for hot flushes, excessive sweating, particularly at night, irritability, mood swings, numbness in the extremities, sleep disturbances, and vaginal itching is presented here. Assessment was done using Greene Climacteric Scale. Among all the symptoms, hot flushes and night sweats were the most distressing one for the subject. Shatavari chinnaruhadiksheerakasaya mentioned in Chikitsamanjari in Vataraktha context possess Vatapittapradhana Tridoshasamana, Rasarakthapradhaka, Dahasamana, Rasayana, Medhya, Balya like properties which can be beneficial in reducing the most wretched vasomotor symptoms. Apart from these, the formulation exhibits anti-oxidant, free radical scavenging, phytoestrogenic and anti-stress activity. Ksheera is Vata pitta samana, Rasayana, Sheeta veerya, Vrishya, Ojasyam, Dhatuvardhaka, and Jeevaneeya. For thirty days, 48ml of Shatavarichinnaruhadi ksheerakasaya was administered twice daily, one hour before food. The severity of symptoms particularly hot flushes and night sweats were considerably reduced after treatment. Thirty days after quitting the drug, a follow-up was conducted, and this time the severity of the symptoms was also less severe than it had been before therapy. From this case report, it is evident that Shatavarichinnaruhadi ksheerakasaya is effective for the management of perimenopausal symptoms especially the most disturbing vasomotor symptoms

Madhumeha, one among the Vataja Pramehas need utmost consideration in the current scenario in view of the rising incidence. Madhumeha is similar to diabetes mellitus. Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by elevated levels of blood glucose which leads over time to serious damage to the heart, blood vessels, eyes, kidneys and nerves. The most common is Type 2 Diabetes, usually in adults, which occurs when the body becomes resistant to Insulin or doesn't make enough Insulin. In the past 3 decades the prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes has raised dramatically in countries of all income levels. According to Ayurveda, Madhumeha is manageable with the prescribed Chikitsa in the Samhitas. It is judiciously managed with the help of Yuktikruta Ahara, Vihara and Aushadha (Darvyadi churna). In this case Nidana parivarjana has been followed and this case is being considered as Sthoola Pramehi.
