Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine. Ayurveda Prescribed many a number of treatment modalities like Shodana and Shamana. Keeping in view of severity of Dosa, Dhatu and Mala vitiation. Among these Snehana and Swedanda are prime with respect to Shodana therapies. Sweda acts as both primary therapy and adjuvant/secondary therapy as per the need of the Rogi, Roga Avastha and Upashaya. The process by which relieves Stambha (rigidity), Gourava (heaviness), Shita (cold) and produces sweating is called Swedana. Acharya Sushruta and Vagbhata have explained 4 varieties of Swedana karma– Tapa, Upanaha, Ushma and Drava sweda. Pariseka is one variety of Drava sweda in which medicated liquid (oil, milk, Takra, Ghrita, Kvatha) filled into pot, jug with spout, or a tube and poured slowly and steadily over the affected part of the body or whole body. An effort has been made to highlight the importance of Parisheka sweda in Urdwajaturgata rogas. Diseases like Vataja abhishyanda and Adhimantha, Arjuna, Karnashula, Shankaka etc.

Metabolic Syndrome is a complex metabolic condition which is a rising therapeutic problem in modern society. Additionally, it has been linked to the emergence of CVD, Type 2 DM and other grave health issues. It primarily develops as a result of a diet high in fat, a sedentary lifestyle, stress, insomnia, drinking too much alcohol, being overweight, and other factors. When three out of the five biochemical and physiological abnormalities such as visceral obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, increased blood sugar, insulin resistance, etc. are present in the body, it is considered clinically diagnosed. Acharya Charaka has mentioned a group of diseases namely Santarpana Nimittaj Vikara (diseases caused due to over eating) which can be symptomatically co-related with metabolic syndrome, especially Medaavrit (covered by fatty tissues) Vata (one of the three bodily humors representing air in the body). Aims & Objectives: Comparative evaluation of Virechana Karma (therapeutic purgation) and Lekhana Basti (a type of therapeutic enema) in the management of metabolic syndrome. Material & Methods: 43 patients were selected on the basis of classical symptomatology of metabolic syndrome from OPD and IPD of Dept. of Panchakarma, Hospital of Rishikul Campus and randomly divided into two groups - Virechana group and Lekhana Basti group on the basis of inclusion - exclusion criteria. There after the patients were subjected for detailed clinical history and physical examination. Statistical analysis used: Since objective criteria were selected so for intragroup comparison Paired- t- test was applied and for intergroup comparison Unpaired- t- test (t-test) was applied. Conclusion: Virechana Karma is better than Lekhana Basti in the management of metabolic syndrome.

Heart diseases have a large share amongst non-communicable diseases. India is currently heading towards becoming a heart disease capital of world. This puts a tremendous pressure on available resources of medical and surgical management. Thus, it would be a great asset if these diseases could be managed through traditional system of medicine like Ayurveda. According to latest data of American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease including heart attack and stroke remain the No. 1 killer of men and women causing 36 percent of all the deaths per year. Changes in diet pattern, dietary habits and lifestyle, certain social and environmental changes have led to us in the era of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, cardiac diseases and many more diseases. There are a number of drugs and medicinal preparations described in the texts of Ayurveda like Arjuna, Tagara, Haritaki, Tambula, Brahmi etc, having wonderful effects in CVD. Various techniques of Yoga, Pranayama (breathing practices), spiritual upliftment are having excellent preventive and therapeutic effects on anxiety, hypertension etc. which are main risk factors of heart disorders.

Decoctions, are basically the extraction of medicines into water by means of boiling. In Ayurveda it is known by the name ‘kwatha’, ‘kashaya’,’sritha’ and ‘niryooha’. The term kwatha is derived from word ‘kwathana’ which means boiling. Aragwadhadhi kashaya is mentioned in Sharngadhara Samhitha, ingredients of which are Aragwadha, Kanamoola, Tiktha, Mustha and Abhaya. All the ingredients were checked for its identity, purity and strength and only those satisfying the API parameters were taken for the study. Kashaya was prepared as per classical method mentioned in Sharngadhara Samhitha. The prepared kashaya was lyophilised and further this extract was used for analysis. The extract of decoction and extracts of individual ingredients were analysed HPTLC was done with two different concentrations of kashaya extract and extract of five individual ingredients in a single Merck, HPTLC Silica gel 60 F254 plate. Quantification was not done in this study, but the results provided valuable information on the presence of various compounds in the decoction. Further research could focus on quantifying these compounds to better understand their concentrations and potential effects. Rf values obtained from two different concentrations of kashaya extract were not exactly similar. There were very few identical Rf values in individual ingredients and kashaya extract.

Every nation's foundation is its children, and that nation's top priority is to ensure their health. Their early years of life are characterized by their development and growth. The first few years of life are the most important time because of the fast growth and development that is common at this age and necessitates ongoing observation. During this time, roughly 40% of physical growth and 80% of mental development take place. Any obstacle they face at this age could severely restrict their ability to develop and grow. A child who lacks access to health care during these formative years is denied the chance to develop into a healthy adult, and the harm caused in the early years may be permanent or in the long run. Children under the age of five continue to die from ailments that are treatable or preventable. Despite the significant progress in immunization to strengthen the immune system, medical research has not yet developed a fully effective defense against virulent organisms, and occasionally we fail in the struggle for survival. To understand the primary causes of death and the carers' patterns of seeking medical attention before the deaths of such children, a cross-section study encompassing the area of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was done. The survey was conducted on 1000 children living in the surroundings of the Post Graduate Institute of Ayurved, Dr. S. R. Rajasthan Ayurved University, Jodhpur. Demographic studies show that Respiratory tract Infection is the main cause of morbidity in children. In Respiratory tract Infection recurrent cough, recurrent running nose, recurrent nasal obstruction, recurrent sore throat, and breathlessness are included. Out of which maximum number of children suffered from recurrent running nose.

Gridhrasi is a common musculoskeletal disorder with radiating pain, stiffness, numbness and tingling sensation in one or both legs. Due to similar clinical presentation, Gridhrasi can be equated with Sciatica, in which there is pain in one or both legs caused by compression of the sciatic nerve or its component nerve roots (L5-S1). It generally affects the people in the productive years of their life and makes walking and standing painful, embarrassing and also limits their mobility. Conservative treatment options for Sciatica only provide momentary relief from pain with a very high recurrence rate. In the present report we discuss the case of a 70 years old female patient who presented with the complaint of severe low backache and pain radiation towards both legs up to the feet with associated numbness in the right leg. She was treated with Shampakadi Niruha Basti along with Patra Pinda Swedan for the time period of 16 days. There was significant improvement in the signs and symptoms of Gridhrasi i.e., SLR Test, pain, numbness, etc. Not only did the combination of these two treatment modalities alleviate the patient's symptoms but it also checked the recurrence of pain by relaxing and strengthening the musculature of the back.

Infertility is a condition of reproductive system that causes people to be unable to get pregnant (conceive). It has been considered the second biggest reason for female infertility Infections, abdominal surgery, and diseases such as endometriosis can cause scarring at the inner linings of fallopian tubes. According to Acharya Susruta, four factors essential for conception are Ritu (season), Kshetra (reproductive system), Ambu (nourishing Substances) and Beeja (ovum and sperm). All these terms have broad are compared with the Artavavaha (Artava-bija-vaha) Srotas, blocking of fallopian tubes is compared with the Sanga Srotodushti of Aartavavaha Srotas. The goal of this study was to determine Uttar Bastis potential as a more affordable and safe solution for treating tubal obstruction. The present paper is based on a clinical success story of the treatment of primary infertility due to tubal blockage. After the 1-month of procedure improvement in general condition was reported. On completion of the second month patient reported amenorrhea in subsequent month and went for UPT which was positive. On USG (after 3 weeks) a single well-defined gestational sac with foetal cardiac activity was seen. The result obtained in this single case study was quite encouraging with minimum invasion and side effects as well as cost-effective. So, the treatment protocol can be followed for patients of infertility due to corneal end tubal block. Success was achieved with Uttar Basti and some supportive Ayurvedic formulations.
