The deposition of A1N thin film was conducted in three different working pressures of 3, 5 and 10 mTorr by HiPIMS method with tilted sputter target. XRD pattern shows nearly single crystalline of a-axis A1N thin films were produced. A1N thin film growth rate increase with the decrease of working pressure as agreed by FESEM cross-sectional images. The thickness of A1N thin film observed at 267 nm, 221nm, and 183 nm for 3 mTorr, 5 mTorr and 10 mTorr, respectively. The degree of crystallinity was observed higher at lower working pressure at 64.3% and reduced to 52.02% at 10 mTorr. However, the micro strain and dislocation density were observed improved over the increase of working pressure referring to single-crystalline a-axis A1N dominant peak.

In agriculture, electric fence is used as one of the methods to protect the food crops, especially from wild animals. Wild animals such as monkeys and elephants will cause immense damage and losses of food crops of farmers if the fence is malfunction. Therefore, this paper proposed the IoT-based electric fence notification system that allows farmers to observe the status of the fence from their phone. In this work, the use of ACS 712 sensor is introduced to measure the current flows on the fence whilst a continuous current supply is assured by detecting the level of the battery via sensor. Blynk application is suggested in this work as a platform to notify the farmers via their phone. The initial findings show that the proposed system capable of notifying the farmer when there is no current supply to the fence. Nonetheless, this system allows the farmer to monitor the battery status remotely, which promote hassle-free farm supervision.

A relative humidity sensor based on plastic optical fibre (POF) is constructed by using chemical etching method. Agarose gel was chosen as the sensing layer with two different patterns which are fully coated pattern and spirally coated pattern. The agarose gel acts as a moisture absorbent due to its hydrophilic property. Full and spirally agarose coated fibre synthesis will be compared in terms of their sensitivity and limit of detection. The measured result shows that the spirally agarose-coated fibre has better sensitivity compared to the fully agarose-coated fibre. The increment in relative humidity percentage affected the refractive index of the cladding and contributed to higher leakage of transmitted light. As the relative humidity percentage (RH%) of magnesium chloride (MgCl2) inside the chamber varies from 50 RH% to 85 RH%, the output voltage of the spiral patterned fibre decreases linearly from 9.1 mV to 8.4 mV. It demonstrates the better linearity slope of over 80.95% and highest sensitivity of 0.0162 mV/% compared to the full patterned fibre. Hence, humidity sensor based on spirally agarose-coated POF demonstrates a high-resistant and reliable sensitivity towards the relative humidity of the ambient.

In this paper, a compact self-isolated 4-antenna multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) is proposed for the fifth-generation (5G) mobile applications. The proposed design is composed of inverted U-shaped, feeding element T-shaped, two circular-ring radiators and two stubs aligned together in a specified location based on the distance of L2 and H2. The compact size reduction introduced in this design is due to the alignment of the circular-rings with the vertical stubs and the microstrip line feeding. The proposed compact size of the selfisolated 4-antenna MIMO system offers very good isolation without using any decoupling techniques, indicated by the transmission coefficients which reach above -30 dB for S12, S32, S34 and S23 for λ/4 and reaches above -20 dB for λ/14. Besides, the result values for reflection coefficients display significant performance reaches above -50 dB for λ/4 and -38 dB for λ/14 which indicates the good performance of the compact MIMO antennas, despite varying the distance and despite its arrangement on a high loss FR-4 dielectric substrate. The MIMO antenna offers significant features to be used in 5G mobile applications

the breast cancer cases have increased globally, in the last two decades. Analysis of histological images acquired through biopsy of the breast tissues is thought to be the most reliable way to assess if any cells show signs of malignancy. With the advent of deep neural networks, we are now able to diagnose the disease with near perfect accuracy instead of conventional techniques of mammography for breast cancer detection; however, work done in this area considers nuclei segmentation. This work is focussed on extending the applicability of deep learning technology where network is trained to perform segmentation and classify data as one of the four classes: normal, benign, in-situ and invasive. The classification accuracy achieved is 98.16% and the segmentation accuracy calculated using overlap coefficient from mean intersection over union is 86.39% on the ICIAR2018 Breast Cancer dataset.

The study proposed the simulation of the inverse kinematics (IK) controller for the 7 DOF robotic arm custom designed to measure the lung condition of contiguous patients. For this purpose, an electronic stethoscope will be attached to the end-effector of the robot arm. Currently, no robot has been developed for this purpose. In this research, the robot arm hardware was custom designed using the modular design of the motor and the Rapid Prototyping Solidwork to develop an appropriate robot arm. Next, the Robot Operating System (ROS) simulation was performed to evaluate the accuracy and execution of the inverse kinematic controller for the robot arm. The result shows that the IK controller has an accuracy of 0.005 mm and that the execution time was fast within 200 milliseconds.

Electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structures structure has become a major revolution in radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications due to its unique characteristics of in-phase and band gap in certain frequency ranges. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the implementation of EBG in several antenna applications. It shows that EBG has multiple advantages in antenna design, such as suppressing surface waves, reducing mutual coupling, creating band notch, controlling radiation patterns, improving RFID transmission, enhancing gain and bandwidth, and act as isolation between the antenna and body. It is hoped that this review will lead to more efforts to develop more compact, broadband and efficient EBG structures to improve the performance of antennas and other microwave devices.

Partial discharge (PD) is a phenomenon that consistently happens throughout the millennium in the power equipment. This phenomenon has an unpredictable and intermittent characteristic that hard to be detected easily. There are various available methods to detect this phenomenon, but each technique has its own flaws and drawback. This paper explored the early step to select, design, and simulate a PD UHF antenna for power transformer through CST MWS simulation. This task is crucial to choose the optimized substrate size and copper thickness for the PD antenna design. Based on the detailed analysis, it is substantially proven that there is an important relationship between substrate size towards antenna performance and characteristics to design an improved and efficient PD antenna.

Photovoltaic (PV) system is known as one of the most popular renewable energy types in generating electricity power. However, one of the drawbacks of PV system is that the performance of PV panel output is incompatible and affected due to changing climate condition. Hence, it is important to predict the optimal power output of PV system. This study will cover the implementation of PV system at the rooftop of Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. Then, the optimal PV output power on the rooftop will be predicted using calculation method and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The results have shown that ANN has the ability to predict the PV output close to the calculation method.

The internet of Things (IoT) is a technology that has shown impact to revolutionize individual live. In the Integration Era in year 2005-2018, the researcher and experts have started to combine the security system with the IoT technology. One of the main reasons is, the IoT being used as the source of data storage. Same as Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), as one of the main component in security system; the data storage is being upgraded from a digital video recorder (DVR) which is a kind of memory card to an endless network video recorder (NVR), which is internet cloud data storage. The NVR camera system is widely known as Internet Protocol Camera (IP Camera). This project is mainly focusing on the security system which could be implemented by community, either in-house or workplace, as the system has dual modes of operation (security mode and calibration mode). The improvement in term of notification, user friendly system is further discussed in this paper. From the notification, the users shall be aware with the location of the burglar. This study shall provide the development of new Smart Home Security, focusing on CCTV system technology.
