This case-control study aimed to investigate the relationship between smoking habits, electronic cigarette use, vaccination status, comorbidities, and the incidence of COVID-19. A total of 63 participants, including 21 cases and 42 controls, were included based on specific criteria. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses. The results revealed that there was no significant association between smoking habits (p value= 0.287), e-cigarette use (p value= 0.114), and vaccination status (p value= 0.287) with the incidence. However, a significant relationship was observed between comorbidities and the incidence (p value= 0.000). These findings suggest that while smoking habits, e-cigarette use, and vaccination status may not be significantly associated with the incidence, comorbidities play a significant role. Further research and public health efforts are needed to explore preventive strategies and support individuals with comorbidities in reducing their susceptibility to COVID-19.

The transition to college is one of the significant life adjustments. Students are expected to adapt to this new environment. However, difficulties in school adaptation may result in social, emotional, and learning instability. This quantitative descriptive survey research determined the skills proficiency, psychological well-being and coping strategies of the University of Nueva Caceres first-year college students for the school year 2021– 2022. The study participants consisted of 429 first-year students of the University of Nueva Caceres. The Skills Profiler Test, Ryff's Scales of Psychological Well-being (SPWB), and Brief-COPE Inventory were used to measure the variables. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The results indicated that the first-year college students of UNC have a skills gap in math, reasoning, and vocabulary. They reflect positive well-being that may help them pursue college life and obstacles that may come their way. The results further suggest that there is a need for the university to come up with programs or interventions that will develop the first-year students' critical thinking skills to succeed in mathematics and life.

Nosocomial infections occur in hospitals and attack patients who are in the recovery process and have low immunity. The emergence of nosocomial conditions in the hospital environment is caused by bacteria and moist objects or materials, especially in the operating room and even the treatment room for children and babies. One type of bacteria that causes the infection is Pseudomonas aeruginosa. P. aeruginosa has been recognized as an irreversible problem in hospitals due to resistance to 3 antibiotic classes. The content of sweet mango seeds has a high phytochemical content in the form of steroid compounds, terpenoids, flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolics, tannins and saponins. This study aimed to determine the potential of sweet mango seed extract against nosocomial infections. The research method is quantitative experimental, using ethanol extract of sweet fragrant mango seeds with well diffusion and dilution tests (MIC and MBC). The results of the antibacterial activity test measured the inhibition zone formed and tested MIC and MBC. MIC value of sweet fragrant mango seed extract showed at 1.56 mg/mL and 0.78, and at MBC value of 25 mg/mL and 50 mg/mL. The results of sweet fragrant mango seed extract have the potential to be developed as an antibacterial agent, especially against nosocomial infections.

The COVID-19 pandemic has infected at least half a billion people around the world. As frontline workers, medical professionals inevitably experienced significant workloads and pressure. Adding to the common causal of COVID-19 mental issues such as economic, fears, and anxiety, these factors make medical workers more vulnerable to stress and burnout. This manuscript aims to investigate stress and burnout levels among medical workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, we include medical workers in Indonesia (n=161). We used the coronavirus stress measure (CSM) and COVID-19 burnout scale (COVID-19-BS) to measure the variables of interest. The data is collected through an anonymous online survey from November 2021 to January 2022. The result shows that the majority of the participants experienced a high intensity of stress and mild burnout during the third wave of COVID-19 infection in Indonesia (June 2021-August 2021). In addition, the regression test shows that there is a significant relationship between stress and burnout caused by COVID-19. When the stress intensity increases, it is likely that the burnout risk also increases. Considering that medical workers play important roles in mitigating diseases such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the medical workers and healthcare stakeholders must pay attention to these factors in order to maintain the medical worker's mental health and healthcare service quality.

The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of warm compresses in reducing dysmenorrhea, or menstrual pain, among young women. A pre-experimental study was conducted on 30 female students of 7th-grade at SMPK Waimangura (a junior high school) using a One-Group Pre-test Post-test Design, with respondents selected through purposive sampling. The study used a numerical rating scale to gauge the level of menstrual pain, and the data was analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Prior to applying warm compresses, most of the participants reported moderate pain, but after the application of warm compresses, the majority reported no pain. The results showed a significant effect of warm compresses in reducing menstrual pain, with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Therefore, it is recommended that young women use warm compresses as a non-pharmacological method to alleviate menstrual pain by applying a clean towel-covered glass bottle for 15-20 minutes. This intervention is effective in reducing muscle spasms in the abdominal area, providing a sense of comfort, and reducing pain.

EMRs play an essential role in documenting clinical information. Nurses are integral to the success of an EMR implementation, as they are the largest group of employees in a hospital and provide patient care. A major factor in the success of EMR implementation is nurses' acceptance of the system. This study is designed to measure nurses' willingness to use EMRs in clinical practice, determine factors influencing nurses' acceptance of EMR documentation in clinical practice, and gain an understanding of the nurses' perspective on EMRs to encourage the adoption and implementation of EMRs in other health facilities in Saudi Arabia. This study included nurses from Hail General Hospital, Maternity and Children Hospital, King Khalid Hospital, and Hail General Hospital. Study results indicate that perceived usefulness and ease of use are strongly correlated, resulting in nurses' greater acceptance of EMRs. According to the study results, nurses are willing to use EMRs. Our result shows that overall, nurses find the EMR useful in their jobs, with 40.9% agreeing and 24.4% strongly agreeing. Whereas the overall easiness was 9.4% agreed and 24 strongly agreed. Nurses need to be prepared for a demanding workplace through their nursing curriculum. Nursing students and professionals should understand the importance of EMRs in ensuring high-quality, effective, and efficient patient care. It is imperative that nurses continuously improve their computer skills to keep up with technological advancements.

This research study was designed to determine the knowledge, attitudes, and practices on antibiotic use among patients of Rural Health Units in the 5th Congressional District of Camarines Sur, Philippines. Specifically, it aimed to determine the relationship between the demographic profile of the patients and the knowledge, attitudes, and practices on antibiotic use. We also analyze the relationship between the factors that influence antibiotic use and the knowledge, attitudes, and practices and develop educational materials for awareness campaign and counseling. This study uses the descriptive-survey method, of which the questionnaire as the primary data gathering tool supplemented by guided interviews. We used the quota sampling method to determine the 350 respondents in the study. We selected 50 patients from each municipality using the convenience method. Most of the patient’s antibiotics use were highly influenced by the financial problem or personal factors, environmental factors, lack of knowledge and information on antibiotics, and socio-economic factors. The personal, environmental, and socio-economic factors that influence antibiotic use are significantly related to the patients' knowledge, attitudes, and antibiotic use practices. The educational materials developed in the study may enhance the level of awareness upon its utilization during educational campaign and patients counseling.
