- Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the most important agents of illness and death worldwide. In LMICs, NCDs will be the main agent of mortality projected to cause up to 75% of all deaths by the year 2030. Patients with NCDs go through lengthy and costly treatment regiments that consume a substantial portion of households’ resources subsequently acting as a major barrier to access and utilization of available care. Kenya adopted the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals and committed to achieve SDG target 3.8 on Universal Health Coverage, so as to enhance access to services and deal with financial burden of illness. The Government made deliberate policy reforms at the National health insurer – NHIF aimed at building its capacity to provide cover for all households including those afflicted by NCDs. This study examined the effect of HI on out-patient and in-patient health service utilization among people with reported NCDs in Busia County. Methods. A quasi experimental – (Pretest-posttest Nonequivalent control group) design using Propensity Score Matching method was conducted in Busia County among eligible households with HI cover (intervention group) and those without (comparison group), involving a total representative sample of 350 households. - Background: Stress can be defined as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation. Stress is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives. Everyone experiences stress to some degree. The way we respond to stress, however, makes a big difference to our overall well-being. Coping refers to conscious strategies used to reduce unpleasant emotions. Coping strategies can be cognitions or behaviors and can be individual or social. Coping is to deal with and overcome struggles and difficulties in life.It is a way for us to maintain our mental and emotional wellbeing.Everybody has a way of handling the hard events that occur in our life and that is what it means to cope. Coping can be healthy and productive, or destructive and unhealthy for you or others. It is recommended that an individual copes in ways that will be beneficial and healthy. "Managing your stress well can help you feel better physically and psychologically and it can impact your ability to perform your best."

- Fertilizers play a prominent role in increasing the productivity of crops in the country. Phosphate solubilizing and nitrogen fixing microorganisms based biofertilizers can be used to reduce the inorganic nitrogen and phosphorous based chemical fertilizer usage and increase the plant availability nitrogen and phosphorous requirement. This study was aimed to use Sri Lankan isolates Azotobacter spp. and Trichoderma asperellum combination with lower rates of chemical fertilizers to evaluate their efficiency as biofertilizers for growth and yield characters of carrot. Further, possibility of combination use of both microorganisms were assessed. The pot experiment was carried out in Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting six treatments and four replications. The Treatments were namely T1 (No Fertilizer), T2 (100% NPK - DOA Recommendation), T3 (50% NP + K), T4 (50% NP + Azotobacter spp. + Trichoderma asperellum + K), T5 (75% NP +K) and T6 (75% NP + Azotobacter spp. + Trichoderma asperellum + K). The results of compatibility test resulted with 100% compatibility of Azotobacter spp. and Trichoderma asperellum isolates respectively. According to the results of pot experiment, best results of growth and yield parameters were observed from treatments T4, T6 and T2. The results of the present study reveals that combined use of Trichoderma asperellum and Azotobacter spp. with reduced levels of (25% and 50%) nitrogen and phosphorous based inorganic fertilizers could enhance the growth and yield of carrot equivalent or higher than those obtained by using full rates of Department of Agriculture Sri Lanka recommended inorganic fertilizers.

- Cloud security is a discipline dedicated to securing cloud computing systems by ensuring that data and privacy of individuals and organizations are safe across online-based infrastructure, applications, and platforms. Whether it is an individual, enterprise or small to medium businesses, any user who uses cloud services should ensure the security of these systems as these can be beneficial to both the cloud providers and the clients. Although cloud computing offers a lot of benefits, it is very susceptible to security threats which is one of the reasons that some businesses and organizations are hesitant to adopting it. Cloud computing can be vulnerable to security attacks which includes but not limited to misconfigured cloud storage, insecure APIs, poor access control, HTTP-DoS and XML-DoS attacks, virtualization/hypervisor vulnerabilities, compliance violations and regulatory actions, and cloud outages. Though there are many vulnerabilities affecting cloud services, the focus of this literature review will be on improving cloud security with emphasis on secure APIs. This study offers a bibliometric analysis that explores the solution to cloud security challenges by systematic review of existing literature on cloud security with focus on securing APIs which would enhance business enterprises in the USA. This literature review will include comparing various works from different authors including books, conference materials, articles, other literature reviews, empirical studies and scientific journals within the last 21 years to provide a comprehensive look within the context of this topic. The work utilized the steps in bibliometric analysis to examines the challenge associated with cloud security by reviewing 24 articles in the cloud security related areas

: This research delves into the perceived social support experienced by Bachelor of Elementary Education students at Caraga State University, examining its connection with academic performance across various living arrangements. The study focuses on profiling the students, assessing the perceived social support within diverse living setups, and evaluating their academic achievements. Employing a quantitative research design, the study utilizes various statistical analyses, including frequency counts, percentages, weighted mean, independent samples test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation. The findings indicate that students generally perceive a moderately extensive level of social support from family, friends, and significant others. Family and friends actively engage in supporting the students, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable and accepted. Despite variations in perceived social support based on living arrangements and academic performance, there is consistency across genders and academic years. Notably, a substantial number of students maintain a fair Great Point Average (GPA). Surprisingly, the research reveals no significant correlation between the extent of perceived social support and academic performance, challenging the assumption that social support directly influences scholastic achievements. In conclusion, while students report receiving adequate social support from family, friends, and significant others, this support does not necessarily translate into enhanced academic performance. The study sheds light on the intricate relationship between social support and academic outcomes

- Hyperuricemia is a recognized risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, particularly prevalent in individuals with hypertension. Addressing hyperuricemia holds the potential to mitigate the onset of hypertension. This investigation focused on exploring the uric acid-reducing capabilities of losartan in patients exhibiting stage 1 hypertension (as per JNC VIII) accompanied by asymptomatic hyperuricemia. Conducted as a community-based before-and-after interventional study, this research involved 27 male participants with stage 1 hypertension and asymptomatic hyperuricemia. The intervention comprised a treatment regimen of losartan, initially at 25 mg once daily for 4 weeks, followed by an escalation to 50 mg once daily for the subsequent 4 weeks, totaling 8 weeks of continuous therapy. Serum uric acid levels were assessed at baseline, after 4 weeks of 25 mg losartan, and following an additional 4 weeks of 50 mg losartan, utilizing UV-VIS Spectrophotometry. Comparative analysis with baseline data revealed a significant reduction in blood pressure with both losartan doses, although serum uric acid level did not show a significant decrease. Notably, the dose-dependent effect on serum uric acid level was evident, with a 1.80 % reduction after 4 weeks of 25 mg losartan and a 6.52 % reduction after 4 weeks of 50 mg losartan. In summary, while losartan demonstrated a dose-dependent effect in lowering uric acid levels, achieving normal range values may necessitate larger doses and extended therapy duration.

-The aim of research was to investigate and reveal the construction mechanism of a component based nonlinear S-box. The nonlinear S-box is a vectorial Boolean function. A vectorial Boolean function used in S-box as straight, compressible and expandable. The application of S-boxes is noticeable in modern block ciphers. In this article, the construction of a nonlinear S-box based on Vectorial Boolean function is presented for scientific readers. Actually, the Substitution box is a Boolean-space where substitution takes place through an action of s-box (mathematical function) and provides confusion in block cipher. The computational and exploratory research approach were applied in this research. Reviewing a number of current s-box construction techniques and applying ideas mathematically to construct a new S-box was a primary initiative to conduct this research. Critical thinking was the main key to capture the mathematical notion behind the Nonlinear S-box. The data collection procedure was literature review, online survey questionnaire and focus group discussion. The population of the research work were doctoral students and professors.

Reviewing a number of current s-box construction techniques and applying ideas mathematically to construct a new S-box was a primary initiative to conduct this research. Critical thinking was the main key to capture the mathematical notion behind the Nonlinear S-box. The data collection procedure was literature review, online survey questionnaire and focus group discussion. The population of the research work were doctoral students and professors.","PeriodicalId":14431,"journal":{"name":"International journal of scientific and research publications","volume":"6 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140497330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
