Any library needs to be updated with reading collection as well as services to serve the user community. For this purpose, libraries are procuring books as well as non-book materials. Occasionally libraries may accept books on gratis from the donors. But it is essential to test whether this collection is integral or reduced, such as book theft or any other natural reasons like damage, etc. This is where stock verification is required. Stock verification is an important annual event in any library. This technique is used in any library for entails scanning the data with a barcode scanner, matching the scanned data with the library database, and creating a report using the MS Excel and any LMS, as described here. Generally during the summer break in May and June, the library undertakes a stock verification of its holdings. The limitations of traditional stock verification methods are also discussed in the study.

Educational institutes provide education to the learners with a vision to create a generation that can design and build a better society in near future. Libraries can be treated as the knowledge hub for educational institutes. The institutes spend lots of money in the libraries so that users can get their required information to carry the intellectual practices. Though the parent institutes spent so much money in the libraries, in this study, it is seen that about 30% of the users are not satisfied with the current service of their academic libraries and many users expect some more from the libraries; which affects the positive climate and culture of the parent institute. This study is based on a descriptive, mix-method research approach. In this paper, the challenges and possibilities carried by the academic libraries of Assam in promoting a positive climate and culture in the institutions are traced and discussed. Many major issues like absence in the library orientation program, Communication gap between the library staff and the users, lack of professional and permanent staff, etc. are identified during the study which affects the academic libraries of Assam. Some recommendations are also made in the paper to enhance the library services in the academic institution.

In addition to creating new possibilities for social and economic development, the information and communication technology (ICT) revolution has also created issues and hurdles. It has an impact on all facets of society and can shape and improve a wide range of developmental applications in the social, industrial, and agricultural sectors. ICT offers special chances for human development. ICT has been expanding inequities between and between countries, regions, gender, rich-poor, elite disregarded, and also within the many categories of women in various fields of endeavour. At the same time, ICT has been enlarging these gaps. Building up women's capacities is important so that they can participate in productive endeavours, institutional development, family and societal change, decision-making, political representation, trade and commerce, entrepreneurial growth, and social leadership.
