Knowledge management and Industry 4.0: a critical analysis and future agenda 知识管理与工业4.0:批判性分析与未来议程

Abstract This paper aims to discuss how Knowledge Management (KM) can support the Industry 4.0 (I4.0) implementation. The paper analyzes the relevant literature and explores related research opportunities, which can provide insights and assist researchers in future studies. I4.0 technologies can influence work flexibility, autonomy, job performance and innovation, but the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge, especially on the shop floor, remain dependent on employees, indicating human concerns which can be supported by KM. We conducted a literature review on KM and I4.0 on 41 papers selected from the Clarivate Web of Science Core Collection, published between 2010 and 2021. Structured summaries were developed, that lead to broad themes. Findings indicate three themes relating KM and I4.0: Technology, which explores infrastructure demands for implementation and its influence on the knowledge creation process; KM and learning, which reinforces the importance of both hard and soft skills, and indicates the need to investigate enablers factors for knowledge creation and sharing; and Worker engagement, which consider communicational, cultural and trust-related aspects for worker's development. This paper explores the I4.0 implementation and indicate concerns involving workers and the technologies adoption, which can provide insights and assist researchers in future Operations Management practices and related researches.

Scheduling for Additive Manufacturing: a literature review 增材制造的调度:文献综述

Abstract: Advancements in production technologies and materials have facilitated the use of additive manufacturing (AM) (i.e., 3D printing) in the large-scale production of finished products with high level of customization, simplification of the factory floor, and fast delivery. Production sequencing is a well-established topic in this research area; however, its application to an AM environment suffers from specific issues that are yet to be explored. This paper presents a systematic literature review for mapping the state-of-the-art production sequencing methods in AM and for discussing the content of 26 articles published in magazines between 2017–2020. The main mathematical models, algorithms adopted for their solution, and main characteristics of computational experiments performed in these articles are identified; the results indicate that some characteristics of the problem can still be included in these models, such as the possibility of outsourcing and technology restrictions, which are yet to be explored in the literature. Further, authors observed the need for more robust computational experiments to better evaluate the proposed solutions.

Failure-to-service may lead industrial business to bankruptcy: drivers and ways to mitigate them 服务失败可能导致工业企业破产:驱动因素和减轻它们的方法

Abstract In recent decades, the service strategy has increased in importance both in scientific research and on the agendas of industrial organizations. Service can help such companies to diversify their offerings, avoiding commoditization as well as increasing operational results. However, failures in the service process may generate significant negative impacts on these organizations. This case study investigates the drivers that contributed to the failure in service delivery in the industrial organization. Such drivers ultimately bankrupted the profit organization. The article uses the qualitative exploratory methodology and a unique, in-depth case study. The findings reveal the following drivers: assigning the operation to inexperienced employees; lack of ability to implement organizational needs; organizational alignment; and knowledge of how to disable complex operations. Also, the study contributes to the construction of a framework to mitigate such drivers. The framework is structured in service operation, decommissioning, and implementation.

Study of the impact of the start time of work shift on the efficiency of an emergency system through a simulation model of discrete events 通过离散事件仿真模型,研究了班次开始时间对应急系统效率的影响

Abstract This work uses a simulation model to analyze the use of ambulances present in emergency medical services (SAMUs) in relation to the schedule of beginning work shifts and the time patients wait in relation to shift start times. For the development of the model, information was collected from studies present in the literature and applied government recommendations for ambulances by inhabitant. The model was executed for different amounts of effective calls per day to analyze system congestion and the impact of changing shift start times on waiting times. The results demonstrate that the system has congestion with 25 effective calls per day, and shifts started at 8 am and 11 am have a shorter average waiting for patients for care. These results validate that the change in the start time of shifts improves system performance without increasing costs.

Instruments to measure patient experience in hospitals: a scoping review 衡量医院病人经验的工具:范围审查

Abstract: Patient experience (PE) has been associated with patients' perception of care services, organizational culture, and interactions experienced by patients. This article aims to characterize the process of measuring adult PE in general hospitals. Therefore, a scoping review (Scoping Review) in a sample of 51 empirical articles dealing with the assessment of PE was analyzed. The results show the predominance of quantitative PE measurement methods. HCAHPS is the most used instrument to evaluate PE. It was also possible to identify the attributes and dimensions (independent variables) considered in the PE measurement. In this case, the relational aspects between patients and health professionals have received great attention in the PE. Measures such as patient experience, satisfaction, quality, and loyalty have been used as PE outcomes (dependent variables). The article contributes to understanding the operationalization and measurement of PE by emphasizing the attributes and dimensions that have been considered in PE measurement, which can be useful for researchers and healthcare professionals interested in evaluating and identifying discrepancies in healthcare services.

Corporate governance aspects in sustainability and performance assessment models for energy companies: a systematic review of the literature 能源公司可持续发展和绩效评估模型中的公司治理方面:对文献的系统回顾

Abstract: The present study aims to map the sustainability and performance evaluation models for energy companies regarding their qualitative and quantitative aspects of corporate governance. This research was carried out through a systematic literature review and the establishment of connections between the issues raised and general aspects of corporate governance, vis-à-vis the sustainable development matter. Aspects of corporate governance, such as gender diversity in the creation of boards of directors and directors in companies, is relevant in view of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the ISO 26000 standard, regarding guidelines on corporate social responsibility. As an innovation in this mapping, a summary of the main qualitative and quantitative aspects of corporate governance is carried out using the clustering technique and co-occurrence map, mining and text analysis, compared to sustainability and performance evaluation models for energy companies. At the end, gaps in these models are pointed out referring to national and international organizations and studies regarding intersectoral principles, practices and tools of corporate governance; opportunities for improvement are also pointed out.

The role of green supply chain management and green innovation in the effect of corporate social responsibility on firm performance 绿色供应链管理和绿色创新在企业社会责任对企业绩效影响中的作用

Abstract: The application of social performance as a material for transparency of environmental commitments that drive company management on company performance is required in the firms. The purpose of this study was to look into the environmental implications of the firms, specifically the role of green supply chain management and green innovation as intervening variables between the effect of corporate social responsibility on firm performance and the effect of corporate social responsibility on firm performance. This was quantitative research. PROPER companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2019 comprised the study's population. Research data was obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample for this study was 211 companies' annual reports and financial statements, which were obtained through a purposive sampling method. STATA was used to test the data in this study. The results of the study revealed that green supply chain management mediated the effect of corporate social responsibility on firm performance, green innovation did not mediate the effect of corporate social responsibility on firm performance, green supply chain management mediated the effect of corporate social responsibility on green innovation, and green innovation did not mediate the effect of green supply chain management on firm performance.

The purpose of this study was to look into the environmental implications of the firms, specifically the role of green supply chain management and green innovation as intervening variables between the effect of corporate social responsibility on firm performance and the effect of corporate social responsibility on firm performance. This was quantitative research. PROPER companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2019 comprised the study's population. Research data was obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample for this study was 211 companies' annual reports and financial statements, which were obtained through a purposive sampling method. STATA was used to test the data in this study. Monitoring bivariate processes with synthetic control charts based on sample ranges 用基于样本范围的合成控制图监测二元过程

Abstract The RMAX chart was proposed to control the covariance matrix of two quality characteristics. The monitoring statistic of the RMAX chart is the maximum of two standardized sample ranges from bivariate observations of two quality characteristics. In this article, we investigate the performance of two synthetic RMAX charts. The first synthetic chart signals when a second point, not far from the first one, falls beyond the warning limit. The second synthetic chart additionally signals when a sample point falls beyond the control limit. The performance of the synthetic RMAX charts are compared with the performance of the standard RMAX chart and the generalized variance S chart. The proposed charts are the best option to detect moderate or even small changes in the covariance matrix. To detect large changes in the covariance matrix, additional run rules are not necessary.

Blade manufacturing for onshore and offshore wind farms: the energy and environmental performance for a case study in Brazil 陆上和海上风电场叶片制造:巴西能源和环境绩效案例研究

Abstract This study aims to analyze the energy and environmental performance of the manufacture of two models of wind turbine blades for a 300 MW wind farm. Material flow analysis (MFA) was used to prepare the mass balance, while life cycle assessment (LCA), based on ISO-14044, was used to evaluate three impact categories, considering sensitivity analysis to evaluate the replacement of wind turbine blade materials. Results showed that the manufacturing of wind turbine blades causes a 10% loss of material impregnated with fiberglass and epoxy resin. Fiberglass was the input with the highest contribution to water consumption, energy consumption, and the carbon footprint. The sensitivity analysis showed that, for the offshore scenario of higher capacity factor and longer lifetime, the carbon footprint contribution per electricity to be produced was 0.214 kg CO2eq/GJ, while for the onshore scenario of lower capacity factor and shorter lifetime, it was 1.37 kg CO2eq/GJ. When using jute fiber grown without irrigation as a substitute input for fiberglass, the reduction was 38% (onshore) and 42% (offshore) in water consumption, 18% (onshore and offshore) in energy consumption, and 24% (onshore) and 25% (offshore) in carbon footprint. The onshore model had a larger impact in all the categories evaluated than the offshore model. Therefore, the use of unirrigated jute fiber allows gains in energy and environmental performance.

Challenges to agile software project management practices in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic COVID-19大流行背景下敏捷软件项目管理实践面临的挑战

Abstract: The Agile approach is focused on individuals and customer satisfaction, based on the dynamic and streamlined work of a team that is capable of adapting, and adapting the project to changing scenarios and demands. However, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Agile teams accustomed to in-person communication have encountered the challenges of working from home. The main objective of this research is to analyze the challenges generated by the pandemic context, and the consequent social distance, for the development of software projects that use Agile approaches within a large state-owned company and identify the effect it had on the course and results of the projects. The research was qualitative in nature and had two exploratory diagnostic stages. The findings indicate that there were no negative impacts of relevance on project deliveries. On the one hand, results indicated losses in socialization, in spontaneous exchanges of knowledge, and in interaction among teams, as well as a demand for greater engagement of professionals. Additionally, limitations were revealed for more complex discussions and knowledge management. The study highlights solutions that were found and/or suggested for many challenges, contributing to the literature on best practices for the Agile approach, and is focused on the unprecedented context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our findings can contribute to other companies with a similar profile that work with Agile projects, besides contributing to building a dialogue between the academic and business environments.
