A cross-layer sleep and rate adaptation mechanism for slotted ALOHA wireless sensor networks 开槽ALOHA无线传感器网络的跨层睡眠和速率自适应机制

The spread use of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in a variety of fields, ranging from the military to environmental protection, has drawn the attention of researchers to this type of networks. Despite their use in interesting applications, such as healthcare and surveillance, many shortcomings derived from their small size and constrained batteries limit their use, calling for solutions to enhance the WSNs. Born in wireless networks using the transport control protocol (TCP), cross-layer proposals have been proving that there is interdependency of parameters across the layers and that collaboration among the layers of the protocol stack can improve the performance of wireless networks in terms of quality of service, throughput, and transmission fairness. Thus, cross-layer design is merging into WSNs, especially to reduce sensors energy consumption. In this work, a cross-layer sleep and rate adaptation mechanism is proposed to operate on a slotted ALOHA WSN. Through the use of sensors sleep periods, energy consumption is reduced, and throughput reduction is mitigated by the use of the rate adaptation.

A blind SLM PAPR reduction scheme using cyclic shift in STBC MIMO-OFDM system STBC MIMO-OFDM系统中一种基于循环移位的盲SLM PAPR降低方案

In this paper, we propose a blind SLM scheme using cyclic shift (BSLM-CS) in STBC MIMO-OFDM. After an OFDM signal sequence in each transmit antenna is cyclically shifted, alternative signal sequences in the proposed scheme are generated by linearly combining OFDM signal sequences using addition and subtraction without the need of the additional IFFT. Therefore, the proposed BSLM-CS scheme has low computational complexity for transmitting the alternative signal sequence with the lowest PAPR. In oder to recover the data at the receiver without side information, the ML decoder for the BSLM-CS scheme can be derived similar to the conventional BSLM scheme. The BER performance of the proposed scheme is not degraded com pared to the conventional SLM scheme with the perfect side information.

MAC hardware platform for on-body WBAN applications MAC硬件平台上的无线局域网应用

This paper shows the design of MAC hardware platform based on IEEE 802.15.6 for on-body WBAN applications. Considering beacon mode with sperframe boundaries, several types of access functions are implemented such as random access and scheduled accesses. And high resolution timers and status control logics are embedded in the FPGA devices for the operation of Tx and Rx control, protocol control, and several interfaces.

Min-variance routing over a MIMO ad-hoc tactical environments 在MIMO自组织战术环境中的最小方差路由

In an ad-hoc tactical environment, it is important to determine an optimal routing path for guaranteeing Quality of Service (QoS). In this paper, we explore the two routing algorithms, named min-variance and max-cost for two different cases (i.e., urgent and ordinary) for transmitting multimedia data in MIMO ad-hoc network such as tactical circumstance. For the ordinary case, each source node finds the effective routing path based on the max-cost routing algorithm. However, for the emergency case, the node with a high priority utilizes the min-variance routing algorithm. The simulation results show that the max-cost and min-variance routing algorithms are effective for the ordinary and emergency cases respectively.

Time synchronization in distributed networks is one of the most crucial and fundamental issues. Inaccurate factors in synchronizing clocks between nodes in the network can occur at any point in the network layers. This proposes synchronization via clock skew correction to minimize a time representation error at the radio transceiver and to improve synchronization accuracy.

Recently mobile IPTV service becomes primary service to boost sluggish IT industry. Also 3D image seems to be more prominent in broadcasting service. Therefore 3D image service over mobile IPTV service network will appear as key converging telecommunications and broadcasting service. In order to provide 3D image in wireless access network, it's necessary to enhance the capacity of wireless access network approximately 2 times, also operators should maximize the efficiency of radio resources usage ensuring QoS/QoE to users. But it's difficulty to enhance the radio capacity of wireless access network. Therefore it's necessary to use limited radio resource efficiently. In this paper 3D image transmission technology in mobile IPTV network is suggested to increase an ARPU in communication industry.

Array antenna calibration method using internal loop-back 阵列天线内部回路校准方法

This paper proposes an array antenna calibration method for array antenna systems. The proposed method calibrates the amplitude and the phase of RF systems using internal coupler and switches without aids of external calibration systems. Computer simulation demonstrates that the proposed method corrects beamforming angles.

IP-based communication devices have various features according to their hardware performance such as screen size, computing power, storage, etc. Consequently, suitable services for each device are different. Users can explore brand-new communication services comprising each suitable service of diverse devices. To do this, one single platform responsible for managing service profile and session, synchronizing service among devices, and delivering contents is needed. In this paper, we propose the Smart Screen Service platform to address it. Target advertising service is presented as an example service under the Smart Screen Service platform.

Adaptive group loading for MIMO OFDM systems MIMO OFDM系统的自适应群加载

Adaptive Bit Loading (ABL) in Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) is most likely used for achieving the desired Bit Error Rate (BER) performance in wireless systems. In this paper, we discuss some of the bit loading algorithms, compare them with respect to their BER performance, and present an effective concise Adaptive Grouped Loading (AGL) algorithm. In particular, we consider the bit loading in near optimal Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) based MIMO-OFDM system. While using SVD based system, the system requires the perfect Channel State Information (CSI) of channel transfer function at the transmitter. This scenario of SVD can be taken as an ideal case for the comparison of loading algorithms and to show the actual enhancement achievable by our AGL algorithm. Irrespective of the CSI requirement imposed by the mode of the system itself, ABL demands high level of feedback requirement. Grouped Loading (GL) would reduce the feedback requirement depending upon the group size. However, this also leads to considerable degradation in BER performance. In our AGL algorithm, a group is formed with a number of consecutive sub-channels belonging to same transmit antenna, with individual gains falling under predefined criteria. Simulation results show that the proposed AGL requires much lesser CSI compared to GL for same BER performance margin.
