Mouthguard type biosensor for wireless measurement of salivary uric acid 用于唾液尿酸无线测量的护齿式生物传感器

The number of hyperuricemia patients has been increasing. It is important that keep normal uric acid (UA) levels to prevent complicating disease of hyperuricemia. The current standard of UA tests uses a blood sample. However, it is not suitable for self-monitoring of UA level because it involves the burden of puncture and the risk of infection by taking a blood sample. Personal UA sensor is expected to monitor diurnal variation without invasiveness in a casual manner. In this study, we fabricated and evaluated a uricase-based biosensor toward the non-invasive continuous measurement of salivary UA concentration in the oral cavity. Uricase catalyzed UA and produced H2O2 in an enzyme-immobilized membrane on a Pt electrode. Then, generated H2O2 concentration which is correlated to the UA concentration was measured by the chronoamperometry technique. As a result, not only a wide dynamic range (0.1–10 μmol/L) but also high selectivity for UA was observed. In the future, the developed UA biosensor would allow monitoring UA levels non-invasively and continuously.

In-situ monitoring of CO2 methanation: pressure change upon ball-milling of LaNi5 under CO2 and H2 CO2甲烷化的现场监测:在CO2和H2条件下球磨LaNi5的压力变化

Recently, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration, which may enhance on-going global warming issue, is increasing rapidly. Here, methanation of atmospheric CO2 has been suggested. However, in the methanation process developed so far, at least 200-300 °C is required with using catalysts like Ni. Therefore, it is desirable to reduce the reaction temperature by different processes from the viewpoint of energy saving and also to avoid deactivation of catalysts at high temperatures. We have recently reported that mechanochemical process of La-Ni based alloys under the presence of CO2 and H2 generates CH4 successfully. But, it has also been suggested by Atom Probe Tomography (APT) analysis carried out in this study, that CO2 might have partially reacted with the LaNi5 powder in the course of ball-milling, yielding different La-oxides, carboxides and hydrocarboxylic species containing La embedded in Ni matrix. These compounds might have acted as effective intermediate phases for the methanation reaction. In order to elucidate the origin of the catalytic activity, in-situ monitoring of the pressure change during the process is necessary; reactivity of CO2 with LaNi5 in the said process should be investigated as well. Herein, monitoring results of mechanochemical methanation reaction by using vibrational ball-mill are presented.

Effects of newly developed coffee filter on contents of functional components in coffee 新型咖啡滤料对咖啡中功能成分含量的影响

Coffee contains important functional compounds, such as caffeine, chlorogenic acid, trigonelline. In this work the influences of different filters, paper and metal filters (Golden Cafe Filter: GCF) and hot water temperature for coffee brew on the contents of functional compounds mentioned above was investigated. The contents of these three compounds in the coffee prepared with GCF were slightly higher than those brewed with paper filter. The effect of the extraction temperature (85, 90, 95 ̊C) on functional compounds of coffee prepared with both of paper filter and GCF was investigated, the concentration of these three compounds increased with a temperature rise. The coffee prepared with GCF showed slightly turbid compared to that with paper filter, but the fine coffee powder was not felt as a taste. The yield of coffee oil extracted from the coffee brewed with GCF was approximately 1.2 times higher than that from the paper filter. However HPLC analysis revealed that the caffeine found in the coffee oil prepared with GCF was approximately 66 % in that with paper filter. The content of functional compounds of coffee solution brewed by using GCF was higher than that brewed with paper filter, it might contribute to reduction of the environmental load since GCF is a reusable filter.

Ultra – low friction characteristic of titanium diboride (TiB2) thin films at elevated temperature due to excess addition of boron 过量添加硼对二硼化钛(TiB2)薄膜高温下超低摩擦特性的影响

The research goal is to develop a new coating thin film for machining tools. The difficult-to-cut materials have an excellent characteristic and are highly demanded by industry, however there are serious issue on environment load owing to their low processing efficiency. TiB 2 thin film has a potential to decrease friction coefficient at elevated temperature, and we aimed to study decrease of friction coefficient under 0.1 at 600°C. In the previous research, it was found that the friction coefficient of TiB 2 -MoS 2 composite thin film showed 0.01 at 200°C. It is considered that this ultra-low-friction characteristic is caused by tribo-chemical reaction relating with boron. This low friction property was kept even after heat treatment at 400°C. However, the friction coefficient was increased at 500°C , and the boron and sulfur contents at the TiB 2 -MoS 2 composite thin film decreased. A new TiB 2 -MoS 2 composite film enhances boron reaction due to excess addition of boron. As a result, it was found that boron was indispensable for the ultra-low-friction characteristic at elevated temperature because it is maintained after the heat treatment at 500°C. Dry

Investigation of a new evaluation method (Octave factor) for guitar tones using FFT analysis 利用FFT分析研究一种新的吉他音色评价方法(八度因数)

In this paper, the difference between the tone of a high-quality handmade guitar and that of a mass-produced guitar is quantitatively analyzed by using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) analysis. The sound of each guitar string contains different frequencies. In this time, the sound contained in the open string of the guitar is first decomposed into the fundamental sound, the consonant interval that harmonizes with the fundamental sound (mainly included lower order frequencies), and the dissonant interval that does not harmonize with the fundamental sound (mainly included at higher-order frequencies) by using the 12 equal temperament. In this study, new scheme which defines an octave factor to estimate the content rate of the octave sound is proposed and the sound of the guitar was evaluated using the scheme.
