The demand for logistics is increasing rapidly these days, thus the knowledge of logistics plays an important role. There are many types of businesses involving logistic activities which require competent logisticians. Students who graduate from logistics or supply chain programmes are expected to have the knowledge of logistics when they work and later become competent. There is a gap where logistics programmes at higher education institutions need relevant curriculum so that the graduates excel not only in theory but also in practical subjects. This research paper aims to explore the perceptions of undergraduate students on the knowledge of logistics in a Malaysian private university. A Theory of Education Productivity is adopted as guidance in the study. Three independent factors are derived from the theory, namely aptitude, instruction and environment. Using non-probability sampling and regression analysis, these three factors have an influence on the knowledge of logistics for undergraduates. Implications of the findings are also discussed.

The establishment of a Higher Learning Institution (HLI) has posed some positive impacts on the community and industry within its vicinity. Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Perlis has been established for over 40 years. Therefore, with the concern about the effect of UiTM Cawangan Perlis on the local population, there has been some critical questions that have not been addressed. To what degree does the presence of UiTM Cawangan Perlis affect the industry within its vicinity? This study aims to investigate the growth of industrial development in Perlis due to the existence of this HLI. Data was collected using an online survey which was distributed to 198 respondents selected using systematic sampling from the list of active businesses registered with Kangar Municipal Council. Data collected was analysed and compared with the data collected in the same study carried out in 2007. The result of this study has revealed that UiTM Cawangan Perlis existence has contributed to both direct and indirect impact on the industrial growth, particularly in the revenue generation in the form of gross profit and the supply of highly qualified manpower. It is hoped that the result of this study could be used by UiTM to justify the return of the investment made by the government and strategize the plan for UiTM Cawangan Perlis development and sustainability in the future.

The purpose of the research is to analyze the relationship between rail service quality and customer satisfaction. A total of 356 sets of questionnaires were distributed via email to passengers of rail transport in Malaysia and a total of 258 questionnaires were usable for the analysis. Using Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis our research found that only four rail service quality dimensions namely reliability, responsiveness, convenience, and connection are significant in predicting customer satisfaction. For future research, it is suggested that researchers use a bigger sample size and qualitative analysis for in-depth analysis.

Fitness centres in Malaysia remain intensely competitive despite of the industry’s continuous growth. Many depend on recurring revenue streams to secure their market position. This has made, satisfaction of customers a prime importance to ensure their survival in the industry through the delivery of excellent service quality. Basing on this premise, four dimensions of Scale for Service Quality in Recreational Sport (SSQRS) influencing the satisfaction of fitness centre customers was examined. From a total of 113 questionnaires distributed to customers of a gym, all were returned with valid responses for analysis. Findings from the study affirmed that SSQRS dimensions were significantly related to customer satisfaction. Specifically, the outcome dimension demonstrated the greatest impact on satisfaction among customers of a fitness centre followed by physical environment quality and interaction quality. Thus, suggesting there is a need for fitness centres to continuously improve their physical environment quality and outcome quality through personalize workout routines, optimization of space with value-added service, and offer workout streaming to deliver satisfaction, long term revenue and continuous growth.

Prophetic leadership is a model of leadership which is primarily based on the Holy Quran and the exemplary of the Prophets’ characteristics. This leadership concept is highly recommended to be practised by Muslim managers in order to achieve blessing from Allah SWT as well as worldly gain. Nevertheless, there has been a relatively small amount of research discussing the patterns in prophetic leadership publications and the positive impacts that it offers. Therefore, the aim of this thematic review paper was twofold, that was to explore the pattern of the publications that discussed prophetic leadership in organisations, and to examine the impact that may be derived from practising prophetic leadership. Three databases including Dimensions, Microsoft Academics, and Google Scholar were searched under the keywords prophetic leadership and Islam. Selected articles were reviewed and analysed using Atlas.ti8 software. The findings from the code-to-document analysis found six research themes on the patterns of publications and derived twelve sub-themes on the impacts of practising prophetic leadership. This study provided an avenue for Muslim managers to improve their leadership style from the Islamic perspective, and also benefits future researchers who would focus on Islamic management and leadership.

This is a conceptual paper on the use of vlog in the context of teaching and learning during Covid 19 in Malaysia. Many industries ranging from tourism, aviation, fishery and food manufacturing are affected by the Covid 19 pandemic. Not excluding is the education sector which is also badly hit by this pandemic. People were panicked at first. However, now people are in the process of adapting and adopting to the new norm which requires them to follow some preventive measures to prevent virus contraction. Education sector is one of the sectors that is badly affected by this pandemic. Educationists and academicians are trying their best to impart knowledge to learners despite having challenges. One of the ways to ensure learning takes place through the online distance learning (ODL) is by using vlog. Vlogging has many benefits as learners can access it anywhere any time. Learning and teaching will be easier as learners can control their own learning environment. Vlogs can also improve learners’ engagement and boost motivation. Learners are able to use their skills to share their work with others through vlogging. Images used in vlogs also help learners to engage more in their learning. Despite many advantages of using vlog in online teaching and learning, there are some disadvantages of it such as learners’ learning progress is difficult to be monitored, internet connection problem and it does not allow immediate and sufficient feedback.
