Adopting cashless payments at every level, including consumers, businesses, and the government, plays a vital role in Malaysia's transition to an entirely cashless economy. To boost Malaysian consumers' adoption of cashless payments, the barriers that hinder their adoption must first be identified. This study incorporates the obstacles to resistance proposed by the Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT) model with an additional external variable targeted at Gen X due to limited resistance studies on this age cohort in Malaysia. The barriers studied were usage, value, risk, tradition, and merchant acceptance barriers. Thus, this study aims to assess the obstacles that hinder the adoption of cashless payments and identify the relationship between the barriers and resistance towards adopting cashless payments among Gen X in the Klang Valley. The methodology used in this study is a survey approach to distributing questionnaires. Various analyses were performed on the 384 responses from Gen X in the Klang Valley region. The study found that usage, tradition, and image barriers significantly and positively affect resistance towards adopting cashless payment among Gen-Xers in the Klang Valley. However, value, risk, and merchant acceptance barriers did not considerably affect resistance towards adopting cashless payment among Gen-Xers in the Klang Valley. Therefore, it is suggested that future studies delve deeper into the research framework model proposed, which uses the IRT model and the additional external variables presented to gain more valuable insights into consumer resistance.

The recycling programs in Malaysia have been initiated since the early 1990s. Unfortunately, findings indicated that only five per cent of households’ practices are being recycled. Hence, by adopting the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this study aimed to investigate the factors influencing recycling intention among university students in Malaysia. Hypothetically, six factors influence the recycling intention behaviour: attitude, past recycling experience, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, moral norms, and convenience of availability recycling infrastructure. This study used non-probability sampling to obtain information from 80 randomly selected samples among university students. The data obtained were analysed using descriptive, correlation, and regression analyses. The findings showed that all the investigated antecedents significantly correlate with the recycling intention among university students. The findings also showed that the regression is significant, and 68% of recycling intention is jointly determined by attitude, subjective norm, moral norms, the convenience of availability of recycling infrastructure, previous recycling experience and perceived behavioural control. Even though the study’s findings are not generalisable due to limited respondents, the findings can provide future direction of research and offer policymakers valuable information to develop an effective policy related to recycling in Malaysia.

The teaching methods used by teachers will determine the extent of student’s performance in their academic. Teaching methods of mathematics include lecture, inductive, deductive, disclosure, problem solving and many more. Teacher may apply any strategies agreeing to unit of syllabus, accessible resource, and understudies in a course. When the teacher’s teaching method is not clear, the student feels that mathematics is a difficult subject in school. This will affect not only their liking of mathematics, but their diligence, intrigue, boredom, and self-efficacy beliefs related to mathematics. Students who think mathematics is a hard subject tend to have low interest in learning mathematics. They will feel that mathematics is a boring subject and will not push themselves to understand it. This study examines the effects of teaching method used by mathematics teachers on the achievements of Form 2 student. Quantitative research design was used to collect data, selection of sample was carried using simple random sampling whereas questionnaire was applied as the research instrument. The respondents comprised of 240 students and 150 were chosen as the sample. There were three main concerns involved in this study, which are to identify any relationships between the teachers’ student-centered teaching method and the students’ interests in learning mathematics, the students’ perception towards mathematics subject and the significant differences between the mean score of teacher-centered teaching method and student-centered teaching method for Form 2 students. The findings from this study revealed that teaching methods significantly affect student’s achievements. Additionally, student-centered teaching methods and teacher-centered teaching methods were still relevant to improve student’ academic performance.

Managing the funeral process among Muslims usually depends on the mosque committee’s competency to inform the family of the deceased. Various problems have been faced by users when reporting death case funeral arrangements such as the lack of a specific platform for them to create a death report. Currently, users need to make a phone call or send a Short Message System (SMS) to report the case to the committee. This has made it difficult for the committee to manage the funeral arrangements as the information was not received or communicated clearly. Therefore, this study introduces a simplified approach to funeral reporting application using a mobile platform integrates with instant messaging services to assist users in making death reports to the committee for funeral management known as E-Easy Funeral. This study simplifies and adapts the Waterfall Model phases into a 3-phases development model, which are analysis and design, development, and evaluation. E-Easy Funeral targets Muslim communities and mosque committees that manage the funeral process. Hence, this study conducted usability testing and user acceptance testing to measure the usability and the acceptability of E-Easy Funeral among the targeted users (46 participants) using the usability test instrument and the Technology Acceptance Model instrument. As the result, based on the average means core of the three dimensions of the usability test and the four dimensions of the User Acceptance Test, clearly shows that the E-Easy Funeral application is usable and positively accepted by the users. Having considered the evaluation results and the responses by the participants, this study has successfully introduced a simplified and user-friendly mobile application for a funeral reporting tool to inform death cases for funeral management.

Skeletal muscle has an often-underappreciated role in health, with low muscle strength being linked with increased risk of a range of poor health outcomes such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and respiratory disease mortality. Recently, if exercise is performed voluntary to failure, then gains in muscle mass and strength are similar regardless of the load at which exercise is performed. This study aimed to examine the effects of three days per week of resistance training voluntary to failure on muscle adaptations in overweight men consisting of one set of eight exercises. A total of 10 overweight men were recruited for this study. Each exercise was performed based on 80% of 1-RM voluntary to failure and lasted around 30 minutes. The 1-RM test and body composition tests were performed during the baseline and post-intervention. The three sessions per week for six weeks of resistance training of one set per eight exercises to voluntary failure resulted in an increment of 2.3% in muscle mass, and 25.5% in muscle strength. Other than that, a 4.9% reduction in body fat percentage was also observed in this study. It could be concluded that six weeks of three-session resistance training per week voluntary to failure results in an improvement in muscle strength, muscle mass, and reduction of body fat percentage in overweight men.

During the critical COVID-19 pandemic period, many governments, including the Malaysian government, imposed domestic and international travel bans. People were discouraged from travelling due to safety and regulations. The hotel industry was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the government decision impacted the nature of hospitality services. Customers interacted face-to-face with hotel employees, thus increasing the possibility of being infected as the virus is primarily transmitted between human respiratory droplets and physical contact routes. Many hotels focused on improving their safety techniques and implementing risk-reduction strategies to encourage customers to visit their hotels. Some strategies include adopting technology innovation to minimise guest contact with hotel employees (e.g., contactless check-in and check-out) and improving cleanliness to minimise health risks (e.g., regularly sanitising hotel rooms and public areas). This study investigated the influence of technology innovation adoption on customers' perceived health risks and customers’ hotel selection behaviour during the pandemic period in Malaysia. An online self-reported questionnaire was developed and conveniently distributed via social media platforms between December 2021 to February 2022. The data obtained showed that 420 individuals were interested in staying at four- or five-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Most of the respondents have had their second and third doses of vaccination. Based on the analysis, this study found that the adoption of technology innovation significantly influenced customer-perceived health risk and hotel selection behaviour. Findings from this study will benefit many stakeholders, such as hotel operators, and help them understand the influence of technology-based services on customer behaviour and in considering whether to invest in technology to maximise their businesses.

The traditional teaching technique of Business Mathematics mostly involves an extensive step-by-step explanation for solving any given problem. But during online classes, the main limitation is students may only listen to the lengthy explanation alone, without having chance to physically view the detailed steps. This may cause students to be less attentive, easily become bored, and subsequently lessen their interest in the subject. Due to this, some students decide not to attend the online classes for this subject or they possibly may leave in the middle of the lessons. To comply with this matter, a Digital Whiteboard has been integrated into the synchronized learning sessions. The use of Interactive Whiteboards has been widely regarded as one of the most ground-breaking teaching applications for a wide range of educational levels. It provides more effective learning where the students may view all the calculation steps on the whiteboard, as they are in the class, only it is done virtually. It also gives more chances of engagement between students and teachers. Microsoft Whiteboard is a popular application among educators that may be used as an exceptionally adaptable interactive whiteboard. The purpose of this research is to investigate students' perceptions of the usage of the Microsoft Whiteboard in the teaching and learning process. 72 students of UiTM Terengganu, from the Diploma of Muamalat (Part 2), taking Business Mathematics subject, were selected as the research sample. A 22-item online survey was used as the quantitative technique for data collection. Descriptive analysis was carried out to gauge the student’s perception of the application of Microsoft Whiteboard. The findings showed positive results on students’ perception, participation, and emotion, indicating high acceptance towards the application of Microsoft Whiteboard among students. Majority of students agreed that the usage of Microsoft Whiteboard has aided them to comprehend the materials conveyed during online in a better way. The use of a digital whiteboard can attract and supports students’ participation, thus may improve their understanding while learning. Thus, the use of the Microsoft Whiteboard application as one of the online pedagogies for the educators is highly encouraged.

A library is an organization that provides its services and facilities to the community to gain knowledge and eases the users to get the information needed according to their needs. UiTM libraries, belonging to the largest public university in Malaysia, have a tremendous challenge in ensuring that they serve the right resources to their users at the right time and fulfil their users’ satisfaction that relies upon the quality of services provided by them. Hence, the objective of this study is to assess the perceived service quality of PTAR UiTM Puncak Perdana services and facilities on users’ satisfaction. A total of 397 students of UiTM Puncak Perdana Campus, who use the library services, were randomly selected to participate in a survey using the SERVQUAL questionnaire which was distributed and collected personally by the researchers. A correlational analysis between SERVQUAL dimensions and users’ satisfaction was conducted using the IBM-SPSS AMOS version 24.0. This study revealed that there is a moderate positive relationship between all service quality dimensions and user satisfaction. It was concluded that service quality had a significant and positive impact on students’ satisfaction. Research has proven that student satisfaction is a good indicator of a university’s strengths and weaknesses, and higher learning institutions place a high priority on students’ satisfaction. Therefore, it is pertinent for the university to keep track of its library’s service quality from the users’ perspective regularly and ensure a high-quality service and facilities are available to fulfil its users’ satisfaction. More elaborated research on other related perspectives of users’ satisfaction with the library’s services and facilities may be conducted in the future to ensure that the libraries stay in demand and relevant despite the fast-revolving information technology.

The industry of blockchain technology has become more and more important with the rapid development of the financial industry. Blockchain technology in many developed countries is relatively mature, and Malaysia still has a large blockchain market compared to it. The main purpose of this research is to study factors that influence individuals to adopt blockchain in banking institutions in Malaysia. Through the Unified Theory of Technology Acceptance and Use Technology (UTAUT) theory, this study determines the relationship between effort expectancy, performance expectancy, enabling conditions, and social influence on an individual's behavioral intention to adopt blockchain. A survey of 300 participants was carried out by distributing questionnaires via social media platforms. The results were analyzed using SPSS to test factor analysis, reliability, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings revealed that all; effort expectancy, performance expectancy, enabling conditions, and social influence, have direct relationships with blockchain behavior intention in Malaysia.
