Problem solving becomes something important to be taught to students because it can practice critical thinking in solving the problems related to daily life. One of the mathematical materials that important to be taught because it related to daily life is the quadratic function. In fact, students still have many mistake to solve the problem of quadratic function problem that oriented to problem solving. The aim of this research is to describe (1) the student error location of problem solving based on Polya's step in the quadratic function material for tenth grade, (2) the student error causes of problem solving based on Polya's step in the quadratic function material for tenth grade. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects in this research were 24 students of tenth grade in MA Al Anwar Pacul Gowang Jombang. Data collection techniques are the test, interview, and documentation. Data analysis through the data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results show that the location of the error problem solving made by students was the second Polya's step (making plan) and fourth (looking back). The causes of student problem solving error is because students are not accustomed to do on story problem, so that students are not understand the problem and rushing in working it.

Mathematics is a subject that many students find difficult. This is because the abstract mathematical objects, so students are difficult to understand. Thus mathematics learning needs to be endeavored according to the cognitive abilities of students, to concrete abstract mathematical objects so that students can understand them easily. From the experience of researchers in teaching over the years, many students have difficulty understanding dimensional slices of a three especially to get up the field. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research that aims to improve students' understanding of the concept of a slice of a field with a space structure, with the object of research being students of class X-A SMA Negeri 8 Kupang. The approach taken in this study is a qualitative approach using a classroom action research design. Implementation of the actions carried out in two cycles, the first cycle is the implementation of learning material slices of a field to get up the sketch with the media, and the second cycle of the implementation of learning material a wedge to get up the field with visual media or media-based power point presentation. The data in this study were obtained by observation, administration of questionnaires and tests to the object of research. The data obtained from observations and questionnaires were analyzed by means of qualitative analysis, while the data obtained from the tests were analyzed by means of quantitative analysis. The results showed that the students' mastery of a slice of a field with a space of >80% with an average final test result of 88.6 and 68% of students said that the use of visual media could improve their understanding in learning sliced fields with spatial shapes.

The purpose of this study was to describe the integration of etnomathematics in mathematics learning; describes cultural values with ornaments that are closely related to mathematics and explores and explores mathematical concepts that can be utilized as a source of learning mathematics and efforts to develop etnomathematics as a basis for learning mathematics. The data collection process was carried out using exploration methods, documentation, literature study, and observation in the Batu Pake ’Gojeng park located on Jalan Veteran, Biringere, North Sinjai, Sinjai Regency. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the organization and buildings contained in the Gojeng Archaeological Stone Park have mathematical elements, namely building space, flat building, statistics, social arithmetic and collections. Thus, the role of ethnomatemics is as a student facility to be able to construct mathematical concepts in the park of the Archaeological Rock using Gojeng and can be used as a medium to facilitate students understanding mathematical concepts.

Mathematics is a field of science whose application is often found in everyday life. In studying mathematics, there are two scopes taught, namely mathematics which is taught in education and ethnomatematics which is the application of mathematics in cultural groups. The application of local culture in learning activities can make it easier for students to learn because what is learned is directly related to students' daily lives. The people of East Nusa Tenggara generally develop several livestock raising systems, one of which is a semi-intensive system, in which livestock are kept outside of cages and tied under lush trees. This culture of binding livestock can be found in almost all Dawan people who live in the suburbs to outside the city. The culture of the beef tie in the Dawan community can be applied in an academic environment as an approach to learning mathematics on circular material. This study aims to explore the ethnomatematics of the Dawan culture of the cow tie. This research uses ethnographic method. The data in this study were obtained using triangulation of data obtained through field observations, oral interviews and documentation. The exploration results show that the cattle tie model can be used in studying circles such as the elements of a circle, the area of a circle, the circumference of the circle and the area of a circle.

The purpose of this study is to analyze students' mistakes in solving problems in the material number patterns. In this study, researchers used a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through several stages, namely: Observation and Test. Researchers used the test in the form of essay questions as many as 4 items related to material number patterns by emphasizing the students' mathematical communication skills. Where the indicator of the problem is students are able to express opinions and state the situation there are questions number 1 parts a and b, state the situation, pictures, diagrams, or real objects into language, symbols, ideas or models number 2 parts c and d. From the indicators above the researcher determines the assessment instrument, where the researcher uses the guidelines Research methods based on the philosophy of postpositivist, this method is used to examine the condition of natural objects such as student communication skills, as a research instrument this sampling uses categories with levels of student mathematical communication skills, then selected 3 levels of student abilities are: high, medium, and low ability with the provisions of low <40, medium 40-70 and high> 70. The researcher can conclude that know the percentage of the average student answer error in each question is 48, 3% in problem 1a and get the same result in Problem 1b is 48.3%, then the lowest result in Problem 2c is 13.3% and Problem 2d is 26.6%, it can be concluded that the average error of students in answering the whole essay item is 34% or it can be said to be low where the students' mistakes in me solve the material number essay problem.

This study aims to produce a mathematical module of the material system of two variable linear equations for class VIII semester I with PMRI approach, knowing the quality and effectiveness of the module, as well as the responses of material experts and students about the use of modules in learning. This type of research is development research. Using a 4-D (Four D) model, namely defining, design, development, and dissemination. The subjects in this study were students of VIII grade Muhammadiyah Kupang. The instrument used in this study was the validation sheet evaluation of module validity by material and media experts to measure the module validity and student response questionnaire. The results of the module validity assessment by the material and media experts, based on the results of the module quality assessment by the experts, obtained an average of 3.13 content eligibility aspects with 'valid' criteria, a feasibility aspect of 3.21 presentation with a 'valid' criterion, 3.07 language aspects with 'valid' criteria and PMRI 3.54 aspects with 'very valid' criteria. So overall the results of the media and material expert assessment on the "mathematics module with the PMRI approach" are said to be valid with an average of 3.21. And based on the results of student response questionnaire known student responses both with an average of the three criteria is 76.00%. so that the mathematics module with the developed PMRI approach can be declared to get responses from "good" students based on predetermined student response assessment categories
