This study analyzed the relationship between the social support and life satisfaction of the new-middle aged job seekers, and the mediating effect of re-employment desire. Firstly, the relationship between social support and life satisfaction were significant, therefore it confirmed social support should be expanded to improve new-middle aged life satisfaction. Secondly, the desire for social status, self-realization and leisure utilization were significantly influenced in the relationship between the desire for re-employment and life satisfaction. Thirdly, the re-employment desire had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between social support and life satisfaction. These results suggest that it is important to establish a social network for emotional support continuously after retirement, in addition to career planning for re-employment in the process of preparing for retirement, in order to increase the level of life satisfaction of the new-middle age.

This study aims to verify the potential of functional cosmetic materials by examining the antioxidant effects of Aplidium pliciferum and Herdmania momus, used to determine the antioxidant efficacy of Aplidium pliciferum and Herdmania momus ethanol extracts, Mean and standard deviation were calculated using Minitab® 18 (IBM, USA). After various radicals were removed from the extracts of Aplidium pliciferum and Herdmania momus, DPPH was detected in 30.87±1.98% in Aplidium pliciferum, 88.27±0.84% in Herdmania momus, and ABTS in 56.23±2.50% in Aplidium pliciferum and 94.80±0.91% in Herdmania momus in the concentration of 20 mg/ml. Also, NO was detected in 88.57±0.81% in Aplidium pliciferum and 97.53±0.34% in Herdmania momus, respectively, thus all showing statistically significant differences. So we can confirm the efficiency of the solvent acts as an important factor through the total poly phenol content

The purpose of this study was to determine the change trend of emergency department visits among elderly patients with chronic diseases. Using the National Emergency Department Information System data, from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2019, the selected patient data were evaluated for the emergency department discharge main diagnosis codes for eight chronic diseases. The incidence of elderly chronic diseases, emergency department visits, and admission rates were analyzed. Since 2014, there has been a consistent increase in the number of elderly patients visiting the emergency department, especially among those aged over 85 years. The number of emergency department visits among the elderly chronically ill patients also increased, with a significant increase in ischemic heart disease and arthrosis cases. Furthermore, there was a significant difference in the number of chronically ill patients in each year from 2014–2019 (P<0.001). With respect to the trend of admission rates to the emergency department by chronic disease, most diseases showed an increasing trend (P<0.001). however, hyperlipidemia showed a continuous decreasing trend in all age groups since 2014 (P<0.001). Among the elderly chronically ill patients, a greater increase in the admission rate following emergency department visits was noted in those over 85 years of age, with a significant difference in all diseases, except for hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and tuberculosis (P<0.001). As the aging population grows, the emergency department admission rates among the elderly chronically ill patients will rise rapidly. This could create issues with respect to the use and consumption of emergency medical resources. Hence, it is necessary to manage chronic diseases effectively in the elderly.
