Goal – the article is devoted to the analysis of corporate social responsibility as a social, economic and legal phenomenon. The article presents the results of a theoretical and empirical sociological study of the features of the influence of organizational strategies of corporate social responsibility on the staff identity formation of companies and organizations in St.-Petersburg and the North‑West region of Russia. Research methodology – the authors argue that the development of ideas related to the need to create their own strategies for corporate social responsibility was significantly influenced by the practices of Western European firms and companies that began active cross‑border cooperation with Russian companies in the late XX – early XXI centuries. Score/results – the results of the study proved that socially responsible actions of Russian or foreign companies help to improve the internal organizational climate, improve the attitude of employees to their company and staff identity formation. Implementation of corporate social responsibility practices also solves complex organizational problems, for example, such as: increasing the level of staff loyalty and reducing staff turnover. Originality/value – the study showed that Russian companies are still lagging behind the West European companies in the field of creating and implementing effective corporate social responsibility strategies. But some examples show that Russian companies are already actively involved in the development of corporate social responsibility of a new, modern type.

Goal – the purpose of the article is to present the significance and role of institutional coherence in the development and evolution of corporate governance in Poland. Research methodology – a review of the literature on examining the specificity of knowledge about the role of institutional coherence in the development and evolution of corporate governance in Poland and analysis and assessment of the changes in good practice codes in Poland. Score/results – a systemic approach to the issue of corporate governance reveals that it is a collection of both formal and informal institutions. Through mutual interac tion, corporate governance rules lead to the emergence of a relatively stable and predictable environment in which enterprises and their stakeholders can operate. Originality/value – analysis of good practice codes in Poland reveals that the process of their adjustment to the current social and cultural norms, as well as to the expectations of the market, can be positively evaluated, as evidenced by the fact that their new editions continue to be published. The provisions which appear in good practice codes year by year adequately reflect the needs and expectations of the market.

Goal – the aim of the study is to analyze the main economic areas of the global economy in terms of the possibility of transferring the crisis in relation to the current global economic situation. Research methodology – the analysis conducted was based on literature research; the empirical analysis used causation in the Granger sense and Pearson’s linear correlation coefficient. Score/results – The existence of the so–called “locomotive effect” was observed for a group of countries: USA–CSSA, CSSA–USA, EA–LA, EA–CSSA, LA–EA, CSSA–EA, MECA–LA, MECA–CSSA, LA–MECA, CSSA–MECA, EDA–CSSA, CSSA–EDA, LA–CSSA, CSSA–LA, meaning a positive domestic shock transmitted to the economic partner, among the countries studied, the analysis is carried out based on annual data of GDP values as a measure of economic activity. CSSA remains the safest economic area and also the most neutral in view of the current global economic and political situation. In the WPE, there is a maximum [full] correlation of 1 for: EDA–USA, MECA–EA, EDA–EA, MECA–EDA and EDA–MECA. These are currently the most dangerous and crisis–prone areas, with potential for transferring crises between them. It is facilitated by territorial cohesion and the geopolitical situation between countries in these economic regions. Relatively high correlations can also be observed in these areas between the analyzed factors: IMP, IMG, IDCF and PC. The risk of transferring a crisis resulting from war between the areas mentioned is the highest here. Other correlations in terms of: USA–EA, USA–LA, EA–USA, LA–USA, LA–EDA, EDA–LA remain at weak or average levels. This is influenced by geographic distance and the lack of strong economic and political ties. Originality/value – the originality of the study results from the topic undertaken. Identification of potential crisis areas and channels of crisis transmission in the current global geopolitical situation constitutes an added value.

Goal – identification of conditions for the economic feasibility of repairing units with the restoration of parts in comparison with the repair based on the use of new parts. Research – techno‑economic methods were used, taking into account the changing cost items for technological operations of repairing automobile units in various versions. The limitation was the provision of after‑repair running hours of repaired units, not inferior to the standard operating time of new units. Score/results – the review shows the conditions under which the main quality indicators in the form of wear resistance and fatigue strength of the restored parts, which determine their durability, are not inferior to the development to the limit state of new parts. Originality/value – the cost of restoring individual parts during the repair of units is 8–60% of the price of new products. The conditions of concentration of production with an increase in its volumes are given, which reduces the complexity of the restoration of parts up to two times.

Goal – the purpose of this study was to present selected aspects of the social responsibility of universities and to describe examples of socially responsible activities undertaken by the University of Bialystok. Research methodology – for the purpose of the article, the analysis of the literature on the subject and the method of document research were used. Score/results – the article showed that the concept of social responsibility of universities is developing all the time and there is no single, generally accepted approach to it. Despite this, it is an idea that should be implemented by all universities. The University of Bialystok has already taken up this challenge. However, perhaps there is a need for greater structuring of these activities and their wider promotion. Originality/value – the article expands the knowledge about the social responsibility of universities. It presents selected socially responsible activities of the University of Bialystok.

Goal – the paper aims to present research findings relating to the complexity of the phenomenon of cross-border trade in the functioning of the ECOWAS and the WAEMU with a particular focus on elements of informal cross-border trade within the communities concerned. Research methodology – empirical (indirect observation and description) and general methods, including deduction and induction, were used to achieve the aim of the study. Research techniques such as cause-and-effect, comparative, documentary, historical, and synthesis were of great importance. Score/results – the investigation primarily leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to perceive ICBT differently from the perspective of economic communities of less developed countries (ECOWAS, WAEMU) and from that of advanced economies, such as the European Union, placing significant emphasis on the formalisation of trade and penalising entities pursuing informal activities. From the point of view of maximising the benefits of trade within particular African economic communities and – in the near future – within Africa’s continental community (AfCFTA, AEC), it seems vital to develop a specific, African way of appropriately using the potential of ICBT, specifically with the aim of promoting social inclusion and reducing poverty in Africa. Originality/value – the subject of ICBT in African REC is not a new problem, but it is still a niche subject, particularly in the Polish literature. The work is done by the author independently without any help and assistance of others. The study relies on the examination of source documents, statistical data and the critical analysis of the literature.

The type of a mandate determines the character of cooperation of an elected representative with his electorate A number of progressive characteristics of the mixed type of parliamentarian’s mandate are stated. ‣ Originality/value – it is concluded that the gradual transition to the normative regulation and promotion of the mixed (hybrid) type of parliamentarian’s mandate in Republic of Belarus is preferable. |
