Today the development of distributed energy systems is centered on renewable energy resources. Since the renewable energy resources such as solar photovoltaic, fuel cell, and so on that are highly influencing by the environmental changes and human activities produce fluctuating energy outputs to meet the dynamic energy demands, it is a significant challenge to improve the power generation efficiency by designing an optimum storage capacity in the presence of power fluctuations before the installation phase. In this paper, a distributed power flow system that incorporates an optimization approach with safe operation conditions has been investigated with real experimental dataset of smart home environment by considering two power storages and two home appliances based on human daily activities in four different seasons. Numerical simulation results reveal that the optimum storage capacity varies greatly depending on seasonal power generations and daily schedule of human activities.

This paper investigates the application of transparent classifier to medical data retrieved from the UCI ML repository. The advantage of transparent classifier compared to those based on neural networks is the ability of explaining the result of classification. The process by transparent classifier is to obtain the patterns first through data association in the training data, use the identified patterns to classify the test data by calculating the positive and the negative score, and then determine the class according to the scores.

The COVID-19 pandemic has become a critical threat to global health and the economy since its first outbreak in 2019. The standard diagnosis for COVID-19, Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) is time consuming, and has lower sensitivity compared to CT-scans. Therefore, CT-scans can be used as a complementary method, alongside RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 infection prediction. However, manually reviewing CT scans is time consuming. In this paper, we propose DECOVID-CT, a deep learning model based on 3D convolutional neural network (CNN) for the detection of COVID-19 infection with CT images. The model is trained and tested on the RICORD dataset, a multinational dataset, for higher robustness. Our model achieved an accuracy of 100%, for predicting COVID-19 positive images.

In this paper, conducted by two partners, called UFAM/CETELI and, Envision (TPV Group), we developed a software library that integrates the STM32L4+/ESP8266 micro-controllers, creating an IoT node that performs its functions concurrently with other processes, namely the MQTT/WiFi persistent communication functions, the publication and subscription of MQTT topics from the broker and, actuator functions, which is not found in the literature.

Nowadays there is a vast interest in a self-driving car from both academia and industry. The main reason behind recently enormous progress in deep learning approaches for an autonomous vehicle. The main objective of this research is to propose a deep hybrid encoder-decoder network with input multi-modal data to predict the decision-making task. Therefore, the proposed approaches are tested by both real and simulation data but in the real data single camera image and simulator data three-camera image data. The proposed method analyzes the effects of input data. The experiment results in analyses in terms of Computational time as-well-as parameters in which values of the steering wheel and brake both real and simulated data are (6ms and 9ms) respectively. The analysis shows that our method performs well in driving action prediction.

The screen has always acted like a picture, conveying the existence from the other side. Like a window, the screen opens a passage from this world to another world. By allowing the viewer to experience relief from the gloomy feeling in the claustrophobic space, this study has explored the feedback received from the viewer after viewing the scenery from the interactive virtual window. The prototype technology has adopted HTC VIVE Tracker to implement an interactive virtual window with viewpoint tracking and perspective reconstruction. When operating the window, the viewers can open the window with different shapes and change the perspective to observe the different scenery outside the window to observe the perceptual effects of different types of window frames and sceneries on the viewer. This study aims to explore the perceptive changes of viewers after experiencing the immersive smart window to optimize the smart window's user experience.

In 2013, Shim proposed a conditional privacy-preserving authentication (CPP-BAT) scheme for vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). Their scheme was designed to improve Jiang et al.'s binary authentication tree (BAT) scheme that claimed insecure against forgery attacks, replay attacks, and Sybil attacks. Unfortunately, we also found out that Shim's CPP-BAT is potentially insecure against non-repudiation attacks. In this short article, we address the issue and give our improvement to withstand the threat.

In this study, we propose a real-time video delivery system that can deliver video streams by dynamically adjusting the video rate to the customer environment to deliver the video while maintaining high quality. We also describe the implementation method of a dynamic rate-conversion system using edge computers and the IP multicast method.

In this paper, we develop the automatic image sonification system using auditory icons and their stereophonic presentation. We evaluated the effects of object sounds, scene sounds, and human action sounds on the sense of presence. The results showed that our system can generate a sound that is close to the ones that would be heard from the image. The results also showed that scene and human action sounds contribute to the improvement of the sense of presence. It is expected that our sonification system provides not only a more immersive experience for sighted people through images, but also an opportunity to share the experience with people with visual impairment through social networking services.
