Dual-polarized spatial division multiple access transmission for 3D multiuser massive MIMO 三维多用户大规模MIMO的双极化空分多址传输

The paper proposes a spatial division multiple access (SDMA) multiuser transmission scheme for massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems working in the 3D scenery where the BS is deployed with dual-polarized (DP) uniform linear arrays(ULA). Considering the physical features for dual-polarized arrays, we obtain the DP antenna beamspace channels by designating the beam transformation matrix, which can ensure the channel transmission correlation matrix is a diagonal matrix, and that the DP beamspace channels are orthogonal between each beam direction. Based on the maximum sum-rate principle and the orthogonality of the beam channels, the users in a cell are scheduled by greedy algorithm. The base station communicates with the scheduled users with orthogonal beams. Thus, the multiuser multiple input multiple output links turn into single user MIMO link. Simulation results demonstrate that the system throughput has been greatly improved compared with that under single polarized environment.

Soil moisture retrieval using fuzzy logic based on UWB signals 基于超宽带信号的模糊逻辑土壤水分反演

A fuzzy logic approach to retrieve the soil moisture from the ultra-wideband (UWB) radar measurements is investigated in this paper. A monostatic UWB radar module is applied to collect the reflected signals from subsurface of bare soil and sand with different volume water contents (VWCs). Meanwhile, VWCs' data are collected by a time domain reflectometer (TDR). Traditionally, the channel modeling, from the statistical point of view, is able to retrieve the soil moisture. However, the statistical information lacks the ability to disclose the direct relation between the waveform and soil moisture. In this work, we try to model the problem as a time-series forecasting problem. The reflected signals are divided into training data and testing data. The training data are imported into the type-1 fuzzy logic system (T1FLS) to forecast the testing data. After that, we extract the parameters of membership functions in the final iteration and obtain the VWC value based on a recognition strategy.

A new transceiver design based on weighted sum-MSE criterion for multi-cell MIMO interfering broadcast channels 一种基于加权和均方差准则的多小区MIMO干扰广播信道收发器设计

For multicell MIMO interfering broadcast channels (IFBC), the zero-forcing-based approach can achieve the near optimal performance at high signal-noise-ratio (SNR) regime. However, the drawback of the zero-forcing-based approach is the poor performance in low SNR regime compared to the conditional match filter receive scheme. In order to address this problem, we propose an algorithm for minimizing the weighted sum of the weighted sum of mean-square error (MSE). Correspondingly, we begin with the general interference alignment (IA) scheme for IFBC, which can mitigate the inter-interference (ICI) and intra-interference (IUI) based on local channel state information. Next, to improve the performance of the general IA scheme at low SNR, we propose an iterative transceiver design method based on weighted MSE. Extensive numerical simulations are given to validate the effectiveness of our algorithm.

Optimal cooperative spectrum sensing strategy in cognitive radio networks exploiting RF-energy harvesting 利用射频能量收集的认知无线电网络中最优协同频谱感知策略

In this paper, we consider energy harvesting cognitive radio networks (CRNs) where each secondary user (SU) has no fixed power supplies and extract energy only via harvesting energy by Radio Frequency (RF) provided by the control center (CC). Cooperative spectrum sensing is employed to improve the sensing performance. The spectrum sensing policy should maximize the probability of discovering and utilizing the spectrum opportunities while ensuring the specified primary user (PU) protection level. For a homogeneous scenario, the optimal sensing probability of each SU is obtained to maximize the CC throughput while satisfying the energy causality and PU collision constraints. An iterative algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal charging time τe. Numerical results depict that in an energy constrained scenario, we can benefit from the optimal cooperative spectrum sensing policy in terms of enhanced PU detection.

A Hankel-based singular vector source enumeration for low signal-to-noise ratio 基于hankel的低信噪比奇异矢量源枚举

Most existing source enumeration methods provide a satisfactory performance in high or middle signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), but almost lose effectiveness at low SNR. This paper proposed a source enumeration method based on squared Euclidean norm of the vector, the multiplication of the steering matrix and the left singular value vector of Hankel matrices for low SNR, which introduces the construction of abundant Hankel matrices with the different reference signals and changeable dimensions, and takes advantage of orthogonality of signal and noise, then employs the spatial smoothing scheme to dispose the dimension mismatched problem. Simulations validate the superiority of the proposed approach over the Akaike information criterion(AIC) and the minimum description length(MDL) for both coherent and non-coherent signals in terms of low SNR situation.

Research on video coding parameters affecting object tracking 影响目标跟踪的视频编码参数研究

Researchers have done a great number of studies on the visual object tracking and the video encoding transmission respectively. However, there are still no public reports about the influence on the visual object tracking raised by the video coding rates. In this paper, for this issue, a typical tracker with the features of HOG and the most commonly-used video encoding methods-H.264/AVC, are chosen as the test objects. In order to study how the code rates affect the performance of visual object tracking, the tracking experiments under different code rates are designed and the function of tracking performance is caused by the code rates. The result shows that the compromise can be achieved between the channel bandwidth and the visual object tracking performance through selecting the appropriate code rates for the encoder which provides basis for encoding optimization object function of different video applications.

Adaptive spatial modulation with optimized switching thresholds for MIMO systems 具有优化开关阈值的MIMO系统自适应空间调制

Spatial modulation (SM) is a simple and spectral efficient modulation technique that has received much interest recently. By introducing adaptive modulation in the SM-MIMO system, an adaptive spatial modulation (ASM) scheme is presented, and the corresponding performance is investigated in Rayleigh fading channel. To simplify the calculation of average bit error rate (BER), a simple approximate expression of error probability of the antenna index estimation, which contributes one of two components of the average BER, is derived by using the fitting method, and may match the simulation well in the SNR range of interest. With the above results, the closed-form average spectrum efficiency (SE) and BER are obtained, respectively. Besides, the optimized switching thresholds for maximizing SE subject to an average BER constraint are also derived by means of the Karush Kuhn Tucker conditions, and the resultant SE performance can be improved greatly. Simulation results show that the derived average SE and BER are in agreement with the simulations. The presented ASM scheme with the optimized thresholds outperforms the existing scheme with fixed threshold, and has higher SE while maintaining the target BER.

Power spectrum correlation based SNR estimation for cognitive radios 基于功率谱相关的认知无线电信噪比估计

In this paper, we propose a novel method of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation for cognitive radio (CR) systems at low SNRs. By jointly exploiting the second-order moment of the received signal and the correlation of the received signal power spectrum with the a priori known primary power spectrum, we obtain the estimates of both the signal power and the noise power, and the SNR estimation is thus acquired. Simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms other existing estimators in the low SNR region and the credible range of the estimated SNR extends to around -20 dB. In addition, the proposed method requires no a priori knowledge of the modulation type, making it appealing for wireless systems with adaptive modulation schemes.

Enhanced secure multicast: Joint power allocation and beamforming design based on user clustering 增强安全组播:基于用户聚类的联合功率分配和波束成形设计

As communication security has become a critical problem in current wireless networks, physical layer security has attracted more and more research interest However, due to the large number of receiving users, traditional physical layer security techniques, e.g., artificial-noise-aided transmit beamforming, do not apply well to multicast transmission. To cope with this problem, an enhanced secure multicast scheme is proposed in this paper, in which multicast users with close channel vectors are divided into a cluster and different clusters are served on different channels. Based on this scheme, a heuristic user clustering algorithm and a joint power allocation and beamforming design algorithm are presented to maximize the globally achievable secure multicast rate. Simulation results show that the enhanced scheme can support a much higher secure transmission rate than traditional secure multicast schemes, and the proposed joint power allocation and beamforming design algorithm outperforms existing exhaustive searching methods greatly in terms of computation complexity.

Novel APM constellation design for spatial modulation systems 空间调制系统新型APM星座设计

As an entirely hybrid modulation scheme, the performance of spatial modulation (SM) is highly dependent on the specific type of digital modulation schemes. In this paper, a novel amplitude phase modulation (APM) constellation design method suitable for SM transmission is proposed. The designed APM constellation has multi-ring structure with each ring's constellation similar with PSK constellation. Moreover, efficient searching algorithm is provided by traversing over the possible ring number, the constellation points' number in each ring, and the radius of each ring. Simulation results show that the novel design method could successively achieve the APM constellations superior to the traditional PSK and QAM constellations over independent Rayleigh fading channels.
