Background and Purpose: Patients on hemodialysis often struggle with their body image. This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the body image concern questionnaire for the first time in hemodialysis patients in Iran. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 400 hemodialysis patients from Iran were assessed using the Body Image Concern Inventory (BICI). By using exploratory factor analysis (EFA; with Maximum Likelihood Factor Analysis and Promax Rotation) and confirmatory factor analysis, the construct validity of BICI was assessed. To check for internal consistency, the average interitem correlation, Cronbach's alpha, and McDonald's omega coefficients were used. Stability was assessed with intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results: The participants' average age was 53.2 (SD = 13.2) years, and more than half of them were women (54.60%). Four factors extracted from exploratory factor analysis (EFA) show that the total cumulative variance explained by these factors was 44.46% of the total variance. Item factor loadings varied between 0.415 and 0.970. Internal consistency coefficients were considered acceptable (>0.7). Also, stability was evaluated as good (ICC = .839). Conclusions: The Farsi version of the BICI scale as a self-report measure of concerns about dysmorphic appearance has 19 items and shows acceptable reliability and validity. Consequently, the scale can be used by nurses to evaluate body image among Farsi-speaking hemodialysis patients, which can help them to take necessary actions to decrease the level of concerns in these patients.

Background and Purpose: Inconsistent scaling and inadequate psychometrics on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and intent to leave among nurses have resulted in studies using a single question to measure these outcomes. Our aim was to psychometrically test a composite measure. Methods: The scales for these variables in the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Survey (NLRNS) and National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses were re-coded into a composite measure. Utilizing the 2016 NLRNS, we examined reliability and validity indexes. Results: Good internal consistency was demonstrated for the composite measure (α = .93) and the subscales of organizational commitment (α = .86) and intent to leave (α = .88). Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses resulted in a two-factor solution. Conclusions: Our new composite measure is psychometrically sound and can be utilized for future studies.

Background and Purpose: Although the Haitian population in the United States continues to grow, there is a lack of instruments in Haitian Creole to assess risk factors associated with poor mental health such as migration-related stress. This study described the translation of the Demands of Immigration Scale (DIS) and evaluated psychometric properties, meaning equivalence, and understandability of the Haitian Creole/English DIS. Methods: I applied the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy translation procedures and recruited 76 first-generation Haitian immigrants to pilot test the DIS. Results: Reliability was strong (α > .93). Meaning equivalence was maintained (r = .979), 75% understood both DIS versions equally, and 80% rated the translation as excellent/good. The DIS significantly correlated with gender, income, age, age at migration, English fluency, and depression. Conclusions: The DIS can reliably identify immigration-related social determinants of mental health and is ready for use in Haitian Creole.

Background and Purpose: To translate and adapt the Self-Administered Foot Health Assessment Instrument from English to European Portuguese and explore its reliability and validity among undergraduate nursing students in Portugal. Methods: The study was divided into two phases. First, the translation and cross-cultural adaptation followed Beaton's guidelines, with a pretesting of the final version with 30 students. The validation process used the content validity index with a minimum of 75% agreement between experts and Cronbach's alpha for internal consistency. The second step provided the results of the principal component analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, which were performed to study the overall fit of the model and item correlations. The STROBE checklist was used. Results: The Portuguese version, Instrumento de Auto-Avaliação da Saúde do Pé (IAASP), showed an overall acceptable evidence regarding content validity and internal consistency. The factor analysis results suggested removing the "Foot pain" dimension from the original scale. Conclusions: IAASP is suggested to maintain the original 22-item structure, with four domains, "Skin health," "Nail health," "Foot structure," and "Foot pain," being an initial reliable version with interest to measure the current foot health of nursing students. Future studies should contribute to IAASP's continuous improvement.

Background and Purpose: Quality of life (QOL) assessment invites the perspectives of people living with dementia to be shared with family caregivers and healthcare providers. A review of reviews was conducted to describe synthesized evidence (i.e., from other reviews) regarding self- and proxy-reports of QOL for this population. Methods: Searches were conducted in four databases. The 25 included articles addressed self- or proxy-rated patient-reported outcome measures, focused on any type of dementia, and were a review or synthesis published in English. Results: Individuals with dementia are largely able to self-report QOL. Proxy-reports are incongruent with self-reports due to various factors, including the proxy-patient relationship and perspective of measurement. Conclusion: When assessing QOL for people with dementia, self-reports are preferred to proxy-reports; however, a combination is recommended.

Background and Purpose: Studies assessing the costs of the immunobiological cold chain (CC) are scarce. Therefore, the factors that influence the allocation of resources in this process are not known. The objective of this study is to determine the cost of the immunobiological CC. Methods: The Health Economic Assessment study was carried out in Minas Gerais, Brazil, between 2021 and 2022. The unit of analysis was the municipal level of the CC. The perspective of the Public Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde) was considered as a funder, the year 2021 was considered as the time frame, and the period of 1 year was considered as the time horizon of the analysis. Direct medical, nonmedical, and indirect costs were included. A mixed technique was used involving micro- and macrocosting and sensitivity analysis to identify the influence of the main categories on the final cost. Results: The total cost was USD 20,014,545, with nonmedical direct costs being the most representative (61.24%). Human resources were the most influential items, representing 76.43% of the total cost. Conclusions: The most influential items should be those of greatest concern and planned by managers to make the CC more efficient.

Background and Purpose: This study evaluated the validity and reliability of the Persian version of Positive Body Image among Adolescents Scale (PBIAS-P) in Tehran, Iran, in order to better understand adolescents' positive perceptions of their physical selves and the accompanying thoughts and emotions. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out involving adolescents from Tehran Province, Iran, in 2022. Both exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were performed in order to evaluate the construct validity of the PBIAS-P. Cronbach's alpha, McDonald's omega, and intraclass correlation coefficients were also used to confirm the internal consistency of the scale. Results: The findings indicate that three factors extracted from the PBIAS-P account for 50.1% of the total variance. The model fit is considered good based on cut points for various fit indices. All factors had values of Cronbach's alpha, McDonald's omega, and average interitem correlation above .73, .74 and .4, respectively. Also, test-retest reliability for three factors was acceptable. Conclusions: The PBIAS-P has acceptable validity and reliability in Iranian adolescents, making it useful for researchers, psychologists, and health care professionals.
