This paper proposes a new thin and flexible vibrotactile module based on an electroactive polymer with 3×3 actuating cells. Since all components of the proposed module are flexible, the proposed module can be easily embedded into commercial mice having any shape. An experiment is conducted to investigate that the proposed module can generate enough force to stimulate human's mechanoreceptors with wide frequency range.

This paper presents the speech enabled location based data services by employing the location associated elements to VoiceXML. Specifically, <;location> elements and the related system behaviors are defined and integrated into the Voice Applications. Besides, we implemented the Voice Applications platform with the GPS emulator to verify the location functionalities. With this new feature, the position of user on the move can be triggered to the Web pages which can be presented in a spoken, visual way or concurrent way.

In the field of Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies, current wearable displays are hard to suggest visual experiences that users can naturally manipulate 3D objects with their fingertips as in the case of 3D holographic user interface in a Sci-Fi movie. In this paper, we introduce a new wearable display that is designed by considering human factors about 3D stereoscopic images to avoid inconveniences even if it is used for close range interactions with long-time and present pilot contents to evaluate feasibility studies.

This paper proposes an efficient motion compensated frame rate conversion method using scaled motion. Different from previous methods where motion estimation and motion compensated interpolation having same search range, proposed method reduces the search range of motion compensated interpolation while search range of motion estimation remains unchanged. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves internal memory reduction for storing pixels within search range of motion compensation without significant quality degradation.

In the existing lighting management system, motion sensors remain activated to detect user's movement. The activated sensors result in a constant waste of energy. The proposed system dynamically activates or deactivates its motion sensors, efficiently reducing the energy consumption of the sensors.

This paper presents a solution for a self-management system framework. Implemented solution enables network administrators to create, edit and execute Lua configuration scripts. Key benefits are: Evaluation of Lua's deployment in autonomic systems and definition of the event-model used for the configuration application.

We propose a system architecture for cross-channel application services on advanced Hybridcast that enhances viewers convenience and encourages third-parties other than broadcasters to provide integrated broadcast-broadband services. We demonstrated the feasibility of our proposed architecture and standardized it in June 2014.

This paper provides a performance comparison of mixed modulation codewords and shortened codewords defined in DOCSIS 3.1 specifications. In mixed modulation codewords, the same modulation constellation is not used for all sub-carriers of the OFDM symbol. The performance comparison is needed to decide efficient transmission parameters at the view of signal-to-noise ratio and spectral efficiency. In this paper, we present the more efficient codeword scheme from the comparison.

Recommendations such as P.910 suggests parameters TI (temporal information) and SI (spatial information) for characterizing video sequences for quality assessment. In this paper, we suggest two additional parameter based on disparity called SPI (spatial parallax information) and TPI (temporal parallax information) to characterize 3DTV video sequences for this purpose.
